  1. hell yeah
  2. if it's another big muff you don't have to wait to open it
  3. I think in some cases you could maybe fuck up a nitro finish. Like, if there was some huge temperature/humidity differential between where the guitar has been and your home, it could craze and/or get cloudy. But I think that this is highly not likely to be an issue in June in Michigan.,
  4. who was the gray haired professor looking guy who would go on these crazy raves and there would be all kinds of psychedelic effects on the video/audio?
  5. i've spent my entire life being a proponent of top over and now find myself switching the rolls around in the bathrooms used by the little demon.
  6. ok i'll bite - what is woke about renaming your band after a chevy
  7. 335. I don’t have a 335. In the acoustic side, a D18 and really a J45. I have a J45 but it is a J45 custom with rosewood back and sides. I don’t have an all solid mahogany body spruce topped dreadnought or jumbo.
  8. Those things look like ninja stars. Which made me try and remember if there was a guy playing guitar in the Foot Clan hideout in the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. And in retrospect goddamn the Foot Clan was so cool i want to join this club now lol that's sam rockwell kinda off topic for this thread but I'm having a.... I guess I'm old enough where this is maybe just a slight mid-life crisis, or at least I'm reflecting on my early adulthood and wanting to take ownership for the good parts as well as the bad parts. Anyways, I framed some albums and stuff and am going to start trying to collect more concert posters, I'm really loving the vibe it has added to my room
  9. 🫡 (nsfw) (nearly sierra ferrell wubblies)
  10. Wife is not open for more suggestions on leaving a bit more space between her car and her bike, so just posting here for my future expense
  11. You’re not asking for tips but if I was in your shoes I’d buy these - https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/HE112P--herco-flat-thumbpicks-medium-gauge-players-pack?mrkgadid=&mrkgcl=28&mrkgen=gpla&mrkgbflag=1&mrkgcat=drums&percussion&acctid=21700000001645388&dskeywordid=&lid=58700008695999512&dsproductgroupid=&product_id=HE112P&prodctry=US&prodlang=en&channel=online&storeid=&device=m&network=x&matchtype=&adpos=largenumber&locationid=9009718&creative=&targetid=&campaignid=21161059670&awsearchcpc=&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwgpCzBhBhEiwAOSQWQdmflr8eFpZ-gKgLXLaFunOt6XM3KhqE8WMkN4TIoPYJ4-ZD08rekRoCJw8QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds maybe in a heavier gauge Probably not terribly expensive to get a tech to fix that
  12. My wife made a similar choice with blue on the bottom and white up top. The after picture looks significantly better than the before.
  13. I drag my nails on my strumming hand, which is probably bad technique but also I think part of how I make it sound like I want it to? I dunno, I've been playing along with some bluegrass stuff and really wore down the fingernail on my index finger, which then became a little painful. I should push my pick out a bit more and change the angle I'm holding it but also I just bought some nail hardener and have been in my office carefully doing my nails. Counting down until someone comments on how shiny my nails are.
  14. thanks y'all - this is massively helpful. hard to google stuff I don't know fuck about when I'm juggling a baby and a toddler and a million other things.
  15. water heater is far away, up on the third floor. this would track based on the attention to detail in other parts of the house, and yeah it looks like it just got splattered with paint thank you very much btw, that's bigly helpful - if I can't get a plumber out tomorrow or monday AM, (or over the weekend I suppose), is a leaking pressure regulator the kinda thing that is a precursor to a big flooding the downstairs type disaster (if I can't get a plumber over before i head out of town for half of next week, can I just stick a pot under this and deal with it later)?
  16. Ok we’ve established my level of competence with home mx, can I get some input here - so, this is near the garage, I believe is the main shutoff inside the house (but, y’know, I’m a dumbass about this). There was a house shoe where the pitcher is that was soaked, I noticed this at 5:45 pm as well as some water surrounding it. That white thing is shitty particle board and it isn’t super bloated and warped, so I think I’d just started or just happened or just finally saturated the shoe enough to spread. Wife also said that she noticed that the bottom of the dog food container was wet this morning (and had not noticed that on previous mornings). it has been about 3 hours and there’s a drop or two of water in that pitcher. What do I need to do here, or should I just go ahead and call a plumber tomorrow. Heading out of town next week and I don’t want a disaster. here’s some shit I paid other people to do
  17. oh is govee specifically bad? I typically just assume everything is out there and I'm not going to worry too much about it but maybe I'll go review the settings.
  18. Wife relies heavily on the placebo effect with all kinds of different remedies whenever she gets sick. Humidifiers are one of them, and we've gone through several because they're wrong or they get yucky or the room got "sticky" or whatever - I don't pay attention or get involved typically, if she wants to spend $35 annually on humidifiers that she throws away after failing to understand how they work, that is not a problem I need to insert myself into. I keep a humidifier in my office. I chose a thing after googling, it has an app, I set it to a level that is ideal for guitars (which is why I have the thing), I clean it a couple of times a month with vinegar, during the winter I'm constantly topping it off, I have a hygrometer on the other side of the room to verify the humidity. It's a whole thing, the mx is a pain in the ass but it works well and my office stays at 45-50% humidity. Wife has a cold and bought a new humidifier. A 6 liter govee. Uh, ok dude, do you want me to set that up? We probably should've gotten a levoit so I could control it with the same app as the one in my office. "Oh I don't want to do anything that complicated, don't worry about it". Woke up this morning to a literal cloud in the room, the sensor on the front of the thing is reading 83%. jtfc i just installed the app on my phone and put a password on it, set it to 50. trying to decide if i should tell her it uses invisible mist.
  19. I drove past a house in a quiet suburban neighborhood today flying an upside down American flag with a big TRUMP 2024 TAKE BACK AMERICA banner across their front porch
  20. Probably somebody already said this, but I think I just realized this - Fishes had the same energy as Good Time and Uncut Gems. Just the relentless buildup of tension. I don't know if I'm ready for season 3, but I can't wait. A super small thing I cribbed from this show, I should find the episode - there's a moment in season 1 where what's her face (the precocious chef girl) is talking to Carmy smoking behind the restaurant about some problem and he just says "Say more" to get her to keep talking about her feelings or whatever. I use that alllllll the time. WIth my wife, at work, etc.
  21. Saw a Lucid today. I don’t know anything about it but it looks like it fucks.
  22. I would try tossing a full scoop of oxiclean in to a hot tub and letting it sit all day. Then maybe a scrub daddy, and I would try barkeepers friend and clr. Would test a spot with the barkeepers friend though.
