  1. this is the first song of hers that I noticed working its way into my algorithms, and I looked her up to check that she wasn't a contemporary of kate bush for sure she's embracing the gay, although it's a different world than even 15 years ago in terms of how mainstream you can be while adopting a drag queen persona and singing a song about dancing at a gay club
  2. Hot To Go is not my favorite. Pink Pony Club is great and is the first song of hers that clicked for me, it’s no more boring and until than any of the other songs following the same basic formats that pop music (including boomer rock and certainly blues) has been made out of forever. Casual is really good but also I’m feeling very boomerish in how squeamish it makes me.
  3. I have that first live at ryman album and it sounds like shit. Just listening to this on my phone speaker but it sounds much better. Live From Alabama is still my favorite 400 unit album.

Just an absolute monster daytime crowd for Lollapalooza I don't know the whole biography, I think it's something like she was a minor youtube star for a second, got a record deal, well received record that didn't succeed commercially and got dropped, went back home to missouri, and then just absolutely blew up over the course of 2024. She's got something like 5 songs on the charts, she's kinda the biggest star there is right now or at least the hottest. Gen Z Madonna/Gaga. There's been some discussion in the girly pop songs thread but she's reached critical mass where even middle aged dudes who don't pay attention are starting or going to start seeing the name.
  5. if it was a coordinated effort to paint the Trump/Vance ticket as "weird" right before picking the most aspirationally normal person on the planet for VP, i don't know what has happened to the people who used to do dem strategy but i fear they may be dead
  6. This is my wife’s biscuit glove. She is afraid of the paper dough tubes that explode open a little bit when you apply pressure on the crease. So she keeps this glove here to use when I’m not home to open them for her.
  7. this is how lost republicans are, morally
  8. lol I’ve been on exactly that kick
  9. maybe kamala steps down. ready for walz veep
  10. this is such a great politician/governor response. Personal and relatable, impossible to hate, touches on both faith and family, and promotes one of the crown jewel points of pride for your state. Three sentences.
  11. I'm on another play through of this at the moment. I don't have the time or emotional energy for Baldur's Gate or Elden Ring or any of the games that I feel like I want to play, but I can ride around with my boahs or play some poker or hunt a bear or hogtie this motherfucker who made fun of my hat and rip cigs while he waits on the track for the train to come. Put on the raccoon hat fight the hunter in Valentine. Throw flaming bottles at klansmen. This is really one of the best games ever, and I think that there is so much more in there to discover compared to GTA. Saint Denis vampire mystery, there's the serial killer, the deformed daughter in the outhouse near Rhodes or the cabin with the.... something with a black kid with the alcoholic dad writing letters to his mom who ran off? Bonny from RDR's husband next to the canoe. There's so much stuff if you go poke around in every cabin or track down every treasure and just walk around in the environment. I'd be interested to see how they would approach a TV thing. I'm not sure it would work very well, i do even within the game kinda laugh at the idea of it being a redemption story about possibly the most prolific murderer in American history. Killed thousands of people with a revolver but threw some fish back and walked around Saint Denis saying "hey there partner". I tried roleplaying as a more dark character in this playthrough (we're currently at the camp near Rhodes, which is the best camp) and I'm still mostly not on the dark path. I also told myself I was going to use a different horse and then still went up to the mountains to catch the white arabian.

  15. Sounds right. I think he was on a date and had been posting while they were out, and then radio silence and some people maybe knew him irl and got worried. Damn, rip.
  16. Man mostly unrelated but who was the poster who died in a high speed crash with a girl like… 13 years ago or something?

  19. Boom roasted lol I need to fill her car up before the morning of course
  20. I think I’m just going to pop the battery out first thing, swing by oreilly’s or wherever and get it tested while I’m out for groceries and just buy a new one if it’s bad. That’s worth the effort to save my wife’s Uber across town to work on Monday and potentially avoid a tow/shop visit. Thanks y’all.
  21. yeah i figure something battery related is the most likely culprit, still a little tempted to just swap the battery and see if that fixes it. I thought maybe jumping it might definitively indicate battery, but it didn't work - I guess I'm debating spending the $200 on a battery and trying that fix, or if I should just bite the bullet and get it towed somewhere where they can get it right the first time.
