  1. Double rice no beans for me. Mexican rice was the first thing I loved to eat as a little kid and that has never changed.
  2. Catching up on this shit. The last time that states tried to secede, the American military prevented that from happening. Is it actually being entertained that secession might be a thing? Without a similar price to pay?
  3. I’m afraid a one gun salute is the best I can do.
  4. No prob, I get it. And I don’t mean to say that they aren’t talented. I’ve been in some layoffs and I can hear that same tone - keep your resume crisp and good luck buddy, that shit sucks.
  5. They'd never charge me for my soda, but it was always just over $10 including a decent tip for lunch at the Chili Parlor.
  6. Yeah, I’m not going to really argue with you because I know fuck all about this specifically but it looks like they canceled development of at least one project and I have to believe there are a lot of product, project, marketing, etc shit outside of strictly the “talent”. Also I’m trying not to argue but there aren’t 1900 James Gunns at activision. That sounds exactly like angry engineer talk, and you may have the right to be an angry engineer.
  7. Without knowing anything at all, I’d say if one company that does a thing acquired another company that also does that thing, 10% would be lower than my estimate of how many people would be redundant in the new combined organization.
  8. I miss the 10 o’clock meetings next to the catfish parlour. There’s no good late night rough around the edges meeting here.
  9. Bisquick communion with a sin eater damned to an eternity walking the earth is such perfect Fargo.
  10. I don’t know if we have any other new dads here right now, but for posterity and also because my wife finally admitted the superiority of my style over her dumb velcro swaddles (and is now finally able to get baby to nap) - the batwing double swaddle: two blankets rotated to a diamond, tops folded down on both, laid on top of one another. Lay baby down on top, fold the side over the baby and then tuck it under his body (over his arm). Repeat for the other side. Fold up the bottom, swaddle that fucker up tight with the second blanket.
  11. Just housed this whole season. Wonderful. Didn’t like how stupid and foreseeable Whit’s death was but otherwise, few complaints. Loved Munch and the communion ending. Danish pantsing Tillman at the debate and then slowly (too late) beginning to understand what he’s dealing with. stupid confession- they talked about the Indian cop and I assumed feather for the whole show. also, obviously there are Fargo and coen references throughout the series, but I feel like it was heavy in this one, which was cool. I enjoyed the juxtaposition of the kidnapping sequence but with a Tiger instead of a lump of hot dish.
  12. Well I shall withhold judgment apart from my educated opinion that this kind of event does indicate a need for help.
  13. Elle King (is she famous apart from being Rob Schneider’s daughter?) apparently got shitfaced, forgot the lyrics, and then dropped a million f bombs at a Dolly Parton tribute at the opry this weekend.
  14. I agree with that except for the idea that he engages in robust political debate or even has a perspective, really. I think he’s a decent guy and I know he doesn’t give a shit what I think, and I do admire his ability to not let these interactions bleed into his interactions across the board - I respect that a lot.
  15. Maybe Surly’s pronouns should be impersonal.
