So all thes follow-ups got me reminiscing
I collected early 80s to mid-late 90s. My big collection was X-Men. I had an uninterrupted run of Uncanny from somewhere in the 140s (I think 146) to well around 325. I also had a solid run of New Mutant, X-Factor, X-Force, etc. Some great stuff. I have something like 8 copies of that X-Men #1.
I originally collected G.I.Joe, wiht a pretty solid run of those (but I never got Issue 2 with Quinn). Larry Hama was the man (cameo in an episode of MASH).
I was never a Spider-man guy, but what killed me was that I did have Amazing 300 - first Venom (on panel). Kills me that I sold it for $40 a few years later (to buy a few other books). Don't get me started on that regret.
I got to meet/serve drinks to Frank Miller when he came into my bar during the filming of Sin City.
I've been meaning to go back and really make a run into all of my books and see their value. Just on age alone, a lot of the X-men have some value. But I know I have some good ones in there too (my oldest Uncanny is 100).
