  1. Short answer: No Long answer: Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo In fairness and seriousness this isn't just a Texas issue. This is an issue with every power grid - they don't have the capacity to handle the population moving to EVs en masse. This was something that Rep. Thomas Massie used some faulty logic on to try to trip up Sec. Buttigieg on a few years back. Our current grid is at near capacity and is going to need updating REGARDLESS of EVs or petrol cars. But with preparations we can improve our grid across the board to bring it to a capacity to support a growing population and everyone moving to EVs.
  2. Dude, you said you ran your car up to 2 hours just to keep our AC cold. You can do that with a 10 minute heads up. Just stop.
  3. Europa League draw results. The continental competitions have a weird format starting this year, but seems to be pretty easy to understand. Every team is in a single table. You play 8 games against teams, home and away. The resulting table results in how teams advance. Teams 1-8 - advance to round of 16 Teams 9-16 - advance to the playoff as the top seeds Teams 17-24 - advance to the playoffs as the unseeded teams Teams 25-36 - knocked out of the competition For the draw, teams were seeded 1-36 based on coefficient and then placed in pots 1-4, 8 teams each. You got 2 teams out of each pot. The main rules - you can't play anyone from your own association, you can't play a country more than twice in the round. Spurs were really unlucky in this draw. They drew at least one top 2 team in each pot by coefficient (both in pot 3): Roma (Pot 1- Seed 1) Rangers (1-5) AZ Alkmaar (2-2) Ferencvaros (2-8) Qarabag (3-1) Galatasaray (3-2) Elfsborg (4-8) TSG Hoffenheim (4-2) Granted coefficient isn't super accurate as it counts your European play mostly and a lot of these teams miss out many years (Spurs missed last year). They are better than most everyone in their path so I like their chances.
  4. For a minute as I was catching up this morning I thought I was in the fucking twilight zone. We might be a bunch of heathens here, but damn if we don't have a code. This is 100% correct The linked article about failing screens is below. https://www.thedrive.com/tech/27989/teslas-screen-saga-shows-why-automotive-grade-matters

  6. At this point I'm wondering if he's going to end up like Matthew Perry, Michael Jackson, Tony Hsieh (the Zappos CEO) or a unique way all his own?
  7. Just a reminder if you haven't read it, this article is a damn fine read: https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2024/05/i-read-everything-elon-musk-posted-for-a-week-send-help/
  8. This really doesn't take much to realize why they have an issue with this. Using vision only, the cars probably can't pick up any sort of depth information from the tunnels. This probably is a lot like the first few accidents where the Tesla didn't see the semis crossing the street. And people here wonder why so many say FSD isn't anywhere ready for prime time.
  9. It slid out the back. He didn't secure it at all - bigger pictures on these posts
  10. https://jalopnik.com/teslas-optimus-robot-cant-even-compete-at-trade-shows-1851631782 The meat of the article is this video:
  11. Only 2 of the 4 kids were Nicole Simpsons, the other two are from OJ's first marriage. Just sayin'.
  12. A buddy of mine has a hook up with a family that imports EVOO from Italy. They bring in FAM brand. I generally get a few gallons at a time. Usually 6 cans of the organic (green) and 1-2 cans of the intense (blue). It's really good stuff.
  13. I would have thought a Pez dispenser would have been more apropos.
  14. Funny, I saw the first picture without seeing the 2nd picture and I thought "Gee, I wonder if that guy properly secured down that load?" Then I saw that 2nd picture. Just proof that guys who own CT's are not truck guys. It also makes you realize how many people don't really understand loading a truck. I am pretty sure those are 10' boards, that bed is only 6' deep at best (the bottom 6" of the bed maybe) and then it comes in quickly. So you have a lot of boards hanging over even with the tailgate down. Even tied down I wouldn't do that at all. This also made me wonder if the bed does have tie downs, it does. But it wouldn't have shock me to see that skipped or ignored in the design. There is another picture posted by someone else that drove by and saw the aftermath, snapped a number of the boards in the failure process https://imgur.com/OCTEa2f
  15. Couple of articles about Telegram. Much of what has been said, but really good reads. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/pavel-durov-has-nothing-hide-telegram-says-arrested-founder-2024-08-26/ https://www.platformer.news/telegram-durov-arrest-france-explainer/ Casey Newton can be annoying at times, but he hits a lot of high points well in this piece. He also addresses another point about what this means for other platforms, but he really hits some great points here. I recommend reading both.
  16. https://www.barrons.com/articles/robotaxis-coming-tesla-competition-ad76aff4 Barron's is so full of shit. Robotaxis are vaporware. They aren't even close to existing. Yet Barron's is talking about their competition? Against 2 companies that have offered MILLIONS of driverless rides. Compared to ZERO Tesla ones. Pathetic.
