  1. You realize this is just seeking validation in the supernatural, right? It's a psychological tool that evolved in human animals to help us survive.
  2. I bet it's way more than half. A whole shit ton of Americans voted for him because they made it through his last term without their world falling apart. In their mind that happened after Biden took office and prices shot up.
  3. It will be uglier. Just like it was the first time around. A lot of people like Trump because he gives them permission to be shitty.
  4. Thinking they won't engage in mass deportation is peak Trump voter shit? Wat?
  5. We'll see what happens. I don't buy it, but you could be right.
  6. Not if it crashes the economy. Money wins.
  7. How are those Senate rule changes coming?
  8. Which is why I don't believe for one second that mass deportation will happen. They'll be content with harassing just enough people to make the base think they being tough on immigration. It's completely cynical.
  9. Technically, you're right, but it's also true that presidents don't get much accomplished legislatively after their first two years in office. The next Congress will be his fifth and sixth years in office. So Ima call him lame.
  10. Every elected politician in Washington and the Supreme Court, no matter what liberals think. I think most elected Republicans are thrilled at the prospect of never having to see Donald J. Trump on a ballot ever again. His political career is over after his term ends. Donald Trump holding on to power after January 20, 2029 is literally the last thing you should worry about.
  11. One massive silver lining is that he enters office as a lame duck. There is no guarantee he can get through legislation even if Senate Republicans get rid of the filibuster.
  12. Here's the good news. More people would be not OK with it. Donald Trump didn't win because most people agree with him. That's just his base. Donald Trump won because they wanted something different from the Biden administration. Any Republican nominee would have won on Tuesday.
  13. I never got the idea before that he had completely given in to the void. He was just void curious. Now he's fully embraced the nothing.
  14. I see brisket's gone full nihilist. Admirable, really.
  15. Say what you want about Mitch McConnell, but what he did blocking the Merrick Garland nomination for the Supreme Court was a master class in power.
  16. Power gets you somewhere in politics. I simply don't want Republicans to have that power.
  17. And yet the right continues to do it without apology. The only difference is who benefits.
  18. That issue will never swing an election. It's noise.
  19. And all of that represents a drop in the bucket when compared to the amount of human suffering it's meant to address.
  20. Charitable giving won't do fuck all to alleviate the problems faced by those in need in this country, or any other country for that matter. That's why we have states.
  21. That's how unpopular Joe Biden is. It's not much more complicated than that.
  22. I got a ticket in my pocket To send the corner man he's never been Have you ever seen the Blue Ridge Mountains, boy? Or the Chattahoochee or the Honeysuckle blue?
  23. Been there since the clusterfuck of 2000. The Iraq War and the ongoing cruelty of Republican culture war bullshit sealed the deal.
