  1. This game is great, mostly bc it means Texas, TCU, and SMU all made the playoffs before aggy.
  2. It's early, but it seemed to me like Elko really did want to wash the Jimbo culture stink off of that team. My guess is that he was given the leash to do that right up until he lost to dadgum tu, being "physically annihilated" in the process, and now he's being told to load up on stars at all costs.
  3. I mean, those figures were posted upthread so I'm going to assume they're accurate.
  4. I mean, you just summed up why they'll never get there. To make drastic changes, you have to admit that you're very far from where you want to be. Aggy's pride will never let them admit that they're so far off (and particularly not while we're clearly doing well) and so they find signs to cling to and believe they're "on the precipice" of something great. Since they never admit they're far off, they're unwilling to do what they need to do to change, so they stay the same. Rinse, repeat.
  5. This has always been hilarious to me, how one random poster with no way of knowing anything throws out a number they've "heard" and automatically that is adopted and repeated as fact. Meanwhile it is widely known in circles that aggy had to give Chace Sims $10M and DJ Sanders $12M not to flip to us, so they really shouldn't be talking about throwing money around to sign players.
  6. I love today. I love it almost as much as aggy hates it. Let's fuck up Georgia tomorrow and force aggy to continue watching us live their sec dreams.
  7. If there ever was a case study for the value of studying and learning from history, it's texags. In just those last posts, I've learned that their problem under Jimbo is they WEREN'T BUYING ENOUGH PLAYERS and that the only reason they lost to us was a couple of unlucky bounces and otherwise the programs aren't very far apart. So what they propose to do from here, if I understand correctly, is 1) focus on buying more mercenary players, especially on the dline, and 2) not change much else bc they're on the right track otherwise and just need some luck. And they honestly don't know why they're a perennial middle-dweller. Just incredible.
  8. I think that applies if there's a penalty without the targeting. For instance, roughing the passer, with targeting. You can lose the targeting and still have the penalty. If it's only a penalty of targeting, I think if you lose targeting you lose the penalty. Edit: Huck beat me to it
  9. I hadn't really noticed, but if so that's really good development. It felt for a while that they'd gone overboard with interpretation of the rule. There have been plenty of calls in the last few years that clearly were not targeting for what the rule is meant to prevent, but upheld. It's good to hear if this is changing. This was definitely a "not targeting by intent" call.
  10. Agree. That's why I was hoping they'd overturn it, but honestly didn't think they would.
  11. It's the only call I was surprised was overturned. It wasn't targeting, but it was close enough to the letter of the rule that I assumed they'd keep the call from the field. Glad they didn't, but surprised. The other two overturned calls were pretty obvious.
  12. I edited a...different version: Subject: Thank You, Aggies – A Night to Remember at Kyle Field Howdy, Aggies! I’m not a Texas fan, but I’ll admit I came into Saturday night’s game between the Aggies and Longhorns believing Texas would win. I’m new to the SEC, and this was my first time experiencing a game at the legendary Kyle Field. When the opportunity came up to be at this game, I couldn’t pass it up. Let me tell you: it was worth every second. From the moment my family and I stepped onto campus, we were blown away by the energy of the Aggie community. The stadium atmosphere was unique, unlike anything we had ever seen. The experience inside Kyle Field was on another level. The crowd noise, the cheers, the precision of your traditions—it was absolutely mesmerizing. But I was most impressed by the hospitality I experienced in your stadium. Every time I approached a crowd of Aggies (and it was crowded in that stadium that night!) they politely cleared the way and let me pass through. I quickly understood why Aggies have a much deserved reputation for Southern hospitality. I've never seen anything like it. I can assure you that I will never forget my first visit to Aggieland and Kyle Field, and I look forward to welcoming those kind, accommodating Aggies to visit us in the future. Thank you for the unforgettable experience, Aggie family. Y’all have something incredibly "special" in College Station. - Quintrevion Wisner
  13. He never got close enough to Ewers to hit him 🤷‍♂️.
  14. Make no mistake, this has nothing to do with general impatience. The is about us. They're impatient because they can no longer hide behind the "if tu was in the sec" or "if they had to face us now" fairy tales they've been spinning for 10+ years. We're in their yard again, and they're painfully aware they've been exposed. Now, like all things aggy, they're hoping there's some magic solution they can throw money at and catch up to what sark has spent the last 4 years building. It's beautiful because there isn't, and they can't, and I suspect now they never will.
  15. Oh, there was a coach in this mix who didn't quite make it to 2024, just not the one he thought.
  16. Take note that they're already making an opt-out excuse for losing to a big 12 team in their bowl. That's how broken they are.
  17. Meet me in the parking lot challenge incoming...
  18. Especially quickly when... Remember that they all started turning on Weigman when they said he spoke...a certain way.
  19. My favorite part of their current thinking is that they will lose because all of their players are too young to remember when Texas and aggy played each other regularly. Thankfully, we have a BYU/Bill Snyder mold team where most of our starters are 35 years old and grew up deeply invested in this rivalry. Advantage tsips.
  20. Name a more consequential accomplishment they've had in a big 3 sport in the last 20 years. It's pathetic, but it's really all they have. Hell, they gave Jimbo a fucking national championship plaque for...existing? When you have nothing real to celebrate but a terribly inflated sense of self worth, you find bullshit to celebrate. It's almost like they added conference championships to their wall in years where they didn't even play in the conference championship game.
  21. Kalen DeBoer supposedly handled his transition at UW terribly. I believe there was an audio clip of him announcing it to the team and it was along the lines of "big opportunity for me, wish you guys the best." Heard rumors he was pretty universally disliked by his team after that meeting. Some of them still followed him to bama.
