  1. I'm pretty sure this was actually it. Just trying them out to see if the lights would eventually come on, knowing their defense could beat usf. Still incredible to see Bama looking for answers in game 3 at the must critical position on the field.
  2. Here's a alternate theory on why he didn't play vs usf: they know this is the only way, and are trying to limit the hits he takes until conference play. Maybe that's too far fetched, but I can't come up with any other rational reason for why he sat on the bench Saturday while "tweedle dee" and "tweedle how in the fuck am I a scholarship quarterback at Alabama" split reps.
  3. Hell, he's already on staff. Just promote from within for continuity.
  4. The worst part is, this might be the Big 12's last chance for a minute to have someone in the final 4 of the playoffs (yes, they'll get someone in the expanded playoff, but not to the final 4 any time soon). I hate to say it, but OU looks like they've turned things around and are at least respectable this year instead of the joke they were in year one under Venables. Texas and OU look like the only two teams in the league capable of making national noise. Maybe BYU. The league's effort to ensure those two teams are not in the ccg is just going to fuck over the conference. Sure, everyone benefits if a conference member makes the playoffs, but at least we'll stick it to big bad Texas and OU. Great job, guys.
  5. This was honestly the most annoying part of the night. Offense struggling to find rhythm? Wonder if the stoppage of play every time we started to establish any, usually for some bullshit discussion that had no impact on the game, might have something to do with that. I hope CDC is at least trying to take this stuff to the big 12. Not that I expect mr "tech better take care of business" to do anything.
  6. This will be another interesting season to compare penalty stats in vs out of conference. The idea that Alabama had more holding penalties against our dline than Wyoming is... something. And keep in mind that the common refrain in the sec is that Bama gets protected by their refs. Fuck the big 12.
  7. To be fair, Lowell is a douchenozzle.
  8. I think Bohl is a really good coach and still can't figure out why he picked Wyoming when leaving ndsu. He'll have them ready and they'll play disciplined and be prepared for us. From a talent perspective, it shouldn't be close, but we have to respect that they'll come to play or they could keep it closer than we're all comfortable believing. After watching Bama, the only thing between this team and all of their goals is how hard they're willing to prepare and the level of effort they're willing to bring each week. I'm actually very interested to watch for that this game. 05 team played to a standard every week (barring maybe aggy when it felt like the pressure was setting in a bit). Can this team do the same?
  9. I did this today. It's a bit to pay for one game, but whatever. I waste more money on things I care less about. I saw this mentioned elsewhere, but if you want the introductory discount and have used sling before, any Gmail account with an added period in the address will work as a "new" customer but still send to your mail. My Gmail is firstnamelastname@gmail. I used first name.lastname@gmail and got the new user trial discount. Edit to add, I couldn't be happier I'll never do this again. Good riddance, Lowell.
  10. The fact that they don't use his running threat to consistently create conflict for defenders is insanity. It not quite the same, but Saban deciding to go back to his old style of offense with Milroe feels a bit like Mack deciding to try to emulate Bama's offense with Garrett Gilbert and the offensive line we had in 2010.
  11. The seats are $65, the glory holes, embarrassment, and shame are free.
  12. If it was low they would've won one by now.
  13. Mel Tucker?
  14. Whenever I think of the disciples in the Bible, Jimbo Fisher, Bobby Petrino, Steve Addazio, DJ Durkin, and Dameyune Craig are pretty close to what I imagine.
  15. I see posts like this and 100% assume it's one of us trolling, because it simply has to be. Then I notice the ag tag. These people really do think like this.
  16. Ever read the football board after a big loss?
  17. I'm not trying to change your minds on Saban, but I do think this is necessary input on the "no fun to be around" evaluation: https://saturdaytradition.com/big-ten-football/nick-saban-apparently-a-big-fan-of-making-deez-nuts-jokes/
  18. I just flipped it on and we already had this gem: "this is the most out of conference early season losses for the sec that I can remember, at least for the teams that people think matter...Alabama, LSU, A&M..."
  19. Holy fucking shit. I saw posts about this but missed the actual ad. Bad idea jeans. Let's play a game where you take a shot for every minority featured in the ad. Sad, lonely shot. Just amazing.
  20. Just a reminder that they actually did this shit
  21. What exactly is the "everything" he's referring to here? Edit: SA beat me by seconds
  22. Am I supposed to "book it" or "mark it down" in this specific situation?
  23. Pete K is a dude. I lived in Seattle for a while and had trouble squaring how UW fans felt about him and what we saw in year 1. At this point I'm convinced we just had bad personnel and poor technical coaching for what he wanted to do. Rather than change it a lot in year one, he kept rolling with his system knowing we might have to take some lumps to get there faster. At this point that looks like the right call. I've questioned Sark on a lot of things, but his faith in the defensive staff seemed unwavering and seems to reflect that he knows talent when he hires it and isn't shaken by early returns. "These guys didn't just forget how to coach" was essentially the answer after year one. Looks like they did not.
