  1. He reminded me a ton of early Card in the pocket. On every play I was just waiting for him to bail the pocket and roll to his right unnecessarily, usually right into the path of a defender who was previously well contained. I would bet he did this on >60% of passing plays.
  2. Didn't stay on the ou side, that is.
  3. I don't know how to make deep fakes. I hope these are acceptable substitutions:
  4. If Milroe plays, my prediction is that aggy will say Milroe > Young and that is why they lost by 3 scores while our game was close.
  5. "I need a liter of cola... For a cop."
  6. For some reason, I'm fairly sure if the zombie apocalypse comes, King will be quickly recognized as one of their own and left alone.
  7. Hahaha, I didn't, but I should. That, plus the obvious upcoming loss to bama this weekend, will start to tilt the scales a bit.
  8. Sumlin (first 5 seasons) 2012: 10-2 v D1 2013: 9-4 v D1 2014: 7-5 v D1 2015: 7-5 v D1 2016: 7-5 v D1 Total: 40-21 v D1 (66% win) Jimbo 2018: 7-4 v D1 2019: 7-5 v D1 2020: 9-1 v D1 2021: 7-4 v D1 2022: 2-2 v D1 Total: 32-16 v D1 (66% win) Caveats: I just eyeballed all of this. I'm probably not 100% certain on who is a very low tier d1 vs d2, so I might be off a game here and there. Both coaches have outlier high periods, and otherwise revert to their mean around 7-4/5 against d1 opponents. I was tempted to put a $/win by each year for each coach, but I've spent enough time here already.
  9. My understanding is that there are big money guys who would not be too happy to be associated with that story (and would likely have to be associated to go this route). It won't surprise me if they try to find a way to get out of his contract, but that option feels like it would produce more collateral damage than aggy would accept.
  10. Olivia Munn is from there. And had the good sense to escape.
  11. Holy shit, Jimbo needs a shirt that says "don't care, got $90 million." He should wear it every Saturday.
  12. Everyone knows if you were actually Rocko, $90 million would be like pocket change.
  13. I love that everyone here had the same reaction reading that part. I read it and thought "wouldn't it be better to just leave that clause out altogether?" You could argue it might look like an oversight not to mention buyouts/penalties for leaving, but is unintentionally excluding that section really worse than intentionally including this version? I'm not so sure.
  14. I'm really not sure there's an amount of "embarrassing press" that would make me walk away from $90M guaranteed. Hell, the guy was walking around Tallahassee with everyone knowing he was a cuck. I imagine he'll continue sleeping just fine on his bed made of aggy money regardless of what smear campaigns those clever ags dream up.
  15. It was 100% their fear of being embarrassed. They could have gotten him for 50% of what they paid, but you know they were already certain that lsu wanted him, and wanted to preemptively cut off that route by giving him a contract they felt lsu (or anyone else, for that matter) wouldn't try to beat. It was that important to them not to be seen as a stepping stone school if he left for a better opportunity. They were right, too. Not one single school is going to try to offer more to Jimbo to get him to leave. So, mission accomplished, I guess?
  16. I understand they're bringing this up to rile up fans, but I feel quite confident the one person who it's most important remembers this tantrum needs no reminder. I'm certain he's made sure his team doesn't need one, as well. This weekend could put 77-0 to shame.
  17. I won't for a second believe aggy is honestly going to pay that buyout, so my assumption is that all of the noise about it is an effort to send a message to Jimbo that his seat should feel hotter than he might think. Except, in typical aggy fashion, they don't really have the leverage they think they have. Can you imagine your boss telling you that if performance doesn't improve you're going to be cut a check for $90 million and asked to leave? Yeah, aggy, that'll show him. Way to remind him who is really in the driver's seat here.
  18. With young kids and activities, I'm rarely able to watch live anymore. These days I'll avoid the score and turn on the recording later to watch and see if we look focused or like dogshit. Yesterday watching the recording around halftime, we were up by 14 but our defense was doing nothing to stop them and our offense had started completely stalling out. The pattern felt familiar, so I paused the game and looked up the final score. Turned it off and was glad I didn't waste any more of my day on it. If it wasn't for Ewers coming back, I'm not sure I'd watch again this season. I do think we're a different team with him, so I'll watch to see, but I'm not sure how that will help the defense. Tech's offense had been abysmal this year. I was an optimist on PK even after last year because of his long track record of success. You can only have so many games where offenses that have been struggling look extremely efficient before you acknowledge your defense is easy to beat. Outside of the bama game, this team is just not fun to watch. The passion, play calling and execution all have a nails on chalkboard feel. If it's not fun, why invest the time? The bama game makes it worse, because it actually proved we have the talent to hang with anyone. What we've seen since then is our coaches consistently fail to motivate and scheme up our talent outside of huge opponents, and most weeks we look like a talented team who could give a shit about the game they're playing. Before anyone gets up in arms, there are obvious exceptions like Rojo who seem to bring it every game, but if the whole of our team played every week like they did against bama, we blow the doors off utsa and tech from the whistle. This shit is just not worth watching anymore.
  19. This makes me want to go dig up the texags screenshots from the preseason about how this team has the feel of the FSU national championship team.
  20. I always wondered what it must have been like to observe post 2009 Mack Brown from an outside perspective. Now I know. Just amazing to achieve this level of futility with that level of talent.
  21. Just to clarify one thing...there's a lot of "towards the end of the game" or "after they wore down" being attributed to the final score, but that's not really accurate. They scored their last touchdown with 9:30 left in the SECOND QUARTER. From that point, it's a 27-3 ballgame. If you're going to say that we won this because we wore them down with depth, then you are saying their depth was depleted by around 20 minutes into the game. If that's true, then they're just not a very good team due to conditioning. What actually happened is that their guys came in focused and hit us in the mouth, our guys came in coasting a bit and had to wake up. After the onside and score, they clearly had our attention and we outplayed them for 40/60 minutes in the game. This wasn't wearing them down with depth when we started controlling the game that early.
  22. I saw that stat and was pretty surprised by it. Felt like more at times in the game. I'm guessing his average fell a lot in the second half where I wasn't watching as closely. Seemed they were consistently getting a decent push in the first.
  23. He can be infuriating to watch, but that long run probably hurt and also probably sealed the game. You could see in the plays immediately following how fired up the team was by it, and we scored I believe two plays later. The guy doesn't have what we need in a starter, but he's sure as hell giving everything he's got right now. I can be both thankful for his effort, and excited that we hopefully won't need him to for much longer.
