  1. Passing, maybe, but they were getting push in the downhill running game. That was surprising.
  2. UTSA oline had struggled until our game, too. Tech will throw everything they have at us. If Ewers plays I'm not worried. With Card, especially on the road, I wouldn't be surprised if we cruise or are in a fight to the end. The team who played bama and the team who played utsa aren't the same. Too early to tell which team we'll get in weeks like this.
  3. My 1st grade son had a college day at his school yesterday, and we started talking about rivalries for the first time. I explained to him why kids at his school who like OU, aggy, Nebraska, Baylor, Tech, etc might all do the hookem down when he does it up. He asked why they don't just do their own school hand sign, which I told him was a good question, and explained that it shows that fans of those schools are more excited to dislike Texas than to like their own school. He said that's weird, and I agreed and gave him a horns up.
  4. He was no Reggie "real deal" McNeal.
  5. Um, in case you haven't heard, they're on the precipice. Been there for quite a while, actually.
  6. Not one fucking person has ever said that to him about midnight yell. Good Lord.
  7. He has already done it. He burned the place down the day they signed that agreement. He pissed on the ashes the day they gave him the extension/raise.
  8. Several others have already said this, but sadly I think aggy wins this one. I've watched their games and know how awful they look and that they have no business winning. They also had no business beating bama last year. This feels like one of those games where the amount of shit they've taken this week combined with Miami being grossly overrated has aggy playing with their hair on fire and able to get it done at home. It won't matter, though, as they're not going to do well in that following string of road games. They are exactly what they've looked like so far, which is dogshit, and they'll still lose a lot of games. I just think things set up well for them to get it done this week. Then they'll crow and feel good about themselves until the collapse starts the following week. I would, of course, reaaaaally love to be wrong.
  9. I'm just happy she's stopped talking about ass play.
  10. Let's not make a mountain of an ant hill.
  11. Because he doesn't need the money and right now he can focus on game planning defense without dealing with the press, boosters, recruiting, nil, managing team culture, and on and on. It's ultimately up to him if he wants to hc again, but for a guy who is financially made, he's almost in retirement just taking on his favorite hobby. You can tell the guy loves football and defense. Right now he's paid to think about that all day without all the other bullshit. We should all be so lucky when we're ready to wind down a bit.
  12. "QB Whisperer"
  13. That would make the most sense, but don't they have a highly ranked recruit who is buddies with King and only considering them bc he's starting visiting this weekend?
  14. I've seen some of these people in the wild, so I can promise you that you do not want that.

  16. Um...the committee hasn't ranked anyone yet. He's not wrong that aggy should be unranked, but this garbage is exactly why the committee says it waits so long to start rankings. I would place a bet that the committee never has aggy anywhere near the top 25 this season.
  17. The tweet says blocked, but unless they're counting the aggy kicker blocking his foot into the turf before he hits the ball, that is inaccurate.
  18. If we're going to need to rely on him, I'm willing to bet they didn't hurt. No one wants Card as the starter, but I'll maintain he probably has a better feel for the offense and better rhythm with his wr thanks to the extended qb battle in camp. Said another way, if you think he looks ill prepared now, it probably could have been worse. Personally I'm not too down on the guy for yesterday. He definitely didn't lose us the game, he just didn't take it over and win it, either. I think we all know Card isn't the guy to do that against Bama, but thankfully he won't have to play them again.
  19. I guess it really depends on where both Wright and Rojo are as passers. We honestly don't know, so I'd think of it like this: Unless Wright is a particularly more skilled passer, we're probably at an advantage with Rojo. Once we're relying on our 3+ string qb, the game plan should be run heavy. Rojo in as qb introduces more conflict for defending both the run and pass, which should open up more easy running and throwing lanes. In any event we should count on a stacked box, so if we want to rely on running we should add a new wrinkle to help create space. If we feel solid about Wright as a passer, maybe you do go traditional. I'm just assuming that since Card has been anything but consistent throwing the ball and Wright has never even threatened to take the backup role, possibly we have some reservations about him throwing it around. This is all assuming we need a one game fix for UTSA, also. If both Ewers and Card need to miss extended time, you probably start preparing whoever you need to operate the real offense. I'd just rather see Rojo leading a rush heavy attack for one game against UTSA than spend time trying to get Wright ready to run the full offense.
  20. I have a feeling they won't be sending the customary "couldn't believe the hospitality of aggyland" letters after this one.
  21. I'm digging deep for a silver lining, but assuming Card isn't too injured to go, it's suddenly a very good thing the qb competition went as long as it did in camp. At least he's had a lot of quality reps. I know how we all feel about him starting, but there's no way more work with the first team offense in camp hurts his preparation.
  22. I wonder if they're negotiating it. If not, you've actually just valued the next few weeks with the interim coach at around $2M each. Not sure how that works out.
