  1. They reached a point in the game where the only things you can't do are allow a sack or pass short of the first down, so naturally they gave up 2 sacks and completed a 6 yard pass on their last possession.
  2. If the QB would've taken the easy first down instead of sliding on his first down run, he wouldn't have needed to try the third down heroics. I knew he'd regret that when I saw him slide.
  3. Taylor
  4. They should've put one second back on the clock just to remind Nebraska how we do things in the big 12.
  5. I'm not really sure what he expected to hear hanging out at the Dixie Chicken.
  6. When users have been registered on this board for years, but never post until they suddenly show up in the middle of an embarrassing loss and proceed to consistently shit on the program in every thread for the next week, it doesn't mean they're definitely aggy, but it might mean they're aggy.
  7. Wait... A passive aggressive post about our new oline coach struggling... That username... Are you Warehime???
  8. The jobs where you get paid like you get paid at Texas will all react like this to outcomes like Saturday. Plenty of jobs where fans/media won't react as harshly that also don't pay as well.
  9. Arkansas provided a good blueprint for how to defend us, with Card at least, provided you have the personnel to do it. We provided a good blueprint for how not to defend Arkansas.
  10. Herman usually seemed to have the team prepared to play (a few notable exceptions, but by and large we looked like we belonged on the field) and often lost games we could have won due to poor in game management. It was infuriating to watch. We found a whole new way to lose to Arkansas by looking entirely unprepared to face either their offense or defense. We looked like we didn't belong on the same field with them. We also made poor in game decisions, but it was less clear that anything we did in game would have impacted the outcome due to how poorly prepared we were. It was also infuriating to watch.
  11. If we hold on to them, I agree with you. Can't let the train come off the rails too much or that will fall apart as well. Just ask Herman.
  12. What's sad is that it has very little in common with our worst performances under Herman. Herman wasn't going to get us there and needed to go, but I don't remember a single game where we were clearly out of it by the third quarter. Almost every loss was a game we could have won, but didn't. This was much more of a Charlie Strong style loss, and tbh that is what's worrying the shit out of me this morning. Unless Arkansas has made monumental improvements since last year, we may be really, really bad this year. Maybe the former is true, but I wouldn't bet on it right now. If Sark can't even have us performing at Herman levels, we're already fucked.
  13. By the way, you really can't talk about Arkansas special teams without...
  14. Man, I feel for you. When you have to caveat your special teams improving with "other than two punts" blocked/shanked, it really says you had nowhere to go but up. I think Charlie Strong once had multiple extra points blocked in a single game but couldn't figure out how to fix it. You never realize how valuable basic ST execution is until you have a team that sucks at it.
  15. I never thought I'd dislike a group of visiting opponent fans more than I disliked LSU's. Congratulations, universe, you win. Edit to add, aside from gohogs14 who seems like good people and should stick around a while
  16. Oh, there are plenty more to choose from, even including your boy Waddle if you go back far enough. I just focused on two who have been phenomenal busts relative to my expectations when we missed on them.
  17. They featured Whittington at an Astros game and aggy mad it wasn't one of theirs.
  18. Two receivers I was really bummed got away in the last couple of cycles we're Demas and McCoy. Kind of puts the whole recruiting thing in perspective a bit.
  19. I'm mostly happy to see LSU out of the top 25. They never should've been there to start with, but I assumed they'd get the standard sec benefit of the doubt and hover around 23-24 until they lost a conference game. I guess everyone is seeing the writing on the wall for the ogre.
  20. Wow, whoever said that anyone who calls this "yelling at" someone has never actually been yelled at was right. On the other hand, it's nice that this boring little exchange was the most controversial thing to come out of our opener. Way better than debating how Charlie didn't know Watson never actually changed his offense at all in the off-season, or what exactly Herman and Orlando spent time doing instead of preparing for Maryland.
  21. How Flood responds to what he sees on film from last week is a huge first test for this staff in my eyes. There are so many things here that were clearly obvious to all of us and must have been to him as well. He also has to know that this isn't the best dline we'll be play by a wide margin, so those issues will become complete blockers to operating the offense in some games. Sark trusts Flood and I think Sark is the best tactical offensive coach we've had since I've been a fan, so I'm inclined to trust him as well. However seeing guys like wickline come to Texas and fail to produce anything like what they've produced elsewhere has just beaten the hope out of me. I need to see our oline coach improve the product on the field either through personnel or development (or preferably both) before I can believe it. I really hope Flood can work some magic, because with competent line play our offense has the potential to be pretty exciting. Without it, we'll just be too handicapped in what we can reasonably execute to really know how good we could have been.
