  1. Posted about Ewers before it happened, so seemed possibly legit. Posted some more cryptic shit that seemed to hint towards Urban for a few days following. Now has probably overplayed his hand and seems most likely a troll who just guessed on Ewers based on the smoke that was already out there.
  2. I didn't read any of this shit, but that's a lot of words for someone who has already stated they don't really care about this topic. Which was my point.
  3. They also had a kinda talented dlineman. If you're an underdog team, having your best players at qb and dline doesn't hurt.
  4. Your comparison is mindnumbingly dumb, but ignoring that for a moment... Are you saying if we're throwing ethics out the window we should pursue Briles over Meyer? How does that work? Even if the horrible comparison you were trying to make was accurate, wouldn't the better answer still be to hire Meyer? If so...what's your point?
  5. You've got him all wrong. He has clearly and explicitly stated that he does not care about Meyer and whether he comes to UT. He doesn't care so much, that he keeps coming back to this thread and assuring us that Meyer won't come here. He's obviously doing that, on a nearly daily basis, just to prove to us how much he doesn't care about Meyer and whether he'll come here. We just can't seem to keep up.
  6. aggy for sure. Everyone should ignore. We started losing games and recruits, so of course they're coming out of the woodwork.
  7. Sam has put some lipstick on our offensive gamelans under Herman, but I'm not sure VY himself would have made a difference with Shawn fucking Watson calling plays. We really do allow ourselves to forget how tragically inept those teams were. It's really not close.
  8. Someone should tell Bob that aggy is not considered an ivy.
  9. I have two thoughts on lsu this year. First, I'm confused about why the offense has regressed so much because several of our resident tigah fans assured me that the offense was not Brady's and that his departure would not significantly impact them. Second, it would have been really nice to have that trip to death valley this year to pad our stats a bit.
  10. I'm not saying it can't be done. I'm saying we're not very good at it. One big difference I see in several names on that list is there was a coach who knows excellence involved in vetting these candidates. If you told me Nick Saban was retiring and had hand selected a young up and comer as the guy to replace him, I'd be more bought in to the choice. I think we absolutely suck at those evaluations, so don't trust us to appropriately vet Elliott or anyone else. At least a proven P5 coach removes some of the unknowns.
  11. 2016: Imo if we don’t get (I don't remember the other popular names) we should hire Tom Herman. I think that dude is a damn good coach and has learned from one of the best in Urban. but people here say we HAVE to hire a coach with prior P5 head coach experience. I'm not saying you're wrong about Elliott, but our history with the high risk/high reward hires over the last decade is why some of us would prefer a different direction with this hire. Muschamp was an absolutely elite coordinator as well. Sometimes they transition well and sometimes they don't.
  12. It's a symptom of Herman's style and the big 12. If we're behind, he still plays offense conservatively until/unless we fall behind by +1 score, and only then does he open it up. We're usually good enough to come back when we play aggressively, but as soon as we get close or take a lead, we play conservatively again. Same if we get a +1 score lead. We just hope to sit on that in an offense heavy league. The style of play almost guarantees games that are tight at the end, and those games have a higher likelihood of going to OT (as well as a higher likelihood of damaging my liver).
  13. We'll score 28 of the 31 points in the last 3 minutes + OT.
  14. If we legitimately have Urban Meyer ready to sign on and we press pause on the process because Herman beat fucking Oklahoma State, just shut the whole thing down.
  15. This should be quoted in reply to every post RD is making on this subject. The problem with Randolph's argument is that it assumes there's a fixed pool of money and we're deciding how to allocate it. Meyer creates incremental funds, likely not only to cover his expense but to help the program above and beyond his expense. There are some legitimate reasons you could consider for why our AD might second guess Meyer, but not being able to afford him is just asinine.
  16. I'm going to quote myself bc this is still my feeling with the game over. All today proves is that this team was capable of much more with the appropriate preparation. Anything positive Tom did for himself tonight is equally damning of the job he did against tech, tcu, and ou. He should still be gone, but I'm really happy for the players who deserved the win.
  17. It's counter intuitive, but if we win it's particularly damning of Herman. OSU is a better team than tech, tcu, or ou this year. If we win, that will only confirm the knock on Herman. He can prepare and motivate his teams for a few big games a year, but can't do this on a week to week basis for less exciting matchups. A win simply proves we had the talent to be better this year but have lacked coaching and motivation. A loss just means we're as bad as we thought we were. Either way, it's bad for Tom.
  18. I think there's a decent chance we win, because losing makes so much sense and Herman's teams seem not to do what makes sense. If this game in any way impacts Herman's future, then we're already fucked. After this week, there should be no question about his future as our coach. If he gets to go out with a nice win over osu, good for him.
  19. Ha, I misread your first post to say it was "quite unbelievable" that he had info. We're on the same page.
  20. Unless his connection is more engaged in this current coaching process than the normal day to day of the team? Hard to ignore the timing and confidence in Ewers, and then the other commits. He's also been really specific on Drayton, so that will be interesting to watch. I'm not sold, but he's 2/2 so far by my count.
  21. We get calls from other coaches all the time saying "tell us how you do it, tell us how you've done so well" and they want to know because we have. We've done very, very well, and better than anyone else probably.
  22. Friendship ended with Herman. Now Urban is best friend.
