  1. I got to know Coach D in 1996 when he joined as Pitt OL coach. That was the final season for Majors in his second stint at Pitt. It was the most brutal and horrible season I have been around and through all of that Coach D was very honest and accommodating. I liked him.
  2. I don’t understand why UCONN keeps flirting with big-time football. They are in a perfect basketball situation with the Big East.
  3. Was this left over from when they got rid of that Russian kid who was a crazy dangerous driver?
  4. Hockenheimring coming up in about 25 minutes
  5. Just passed the F1 Cathedral: The Nurburgring
  6. On a side note. On our drive back to Germany we passed two Pirelli F1 trucks. Kind of neat. Still driving. I took the first stint and am now a passenger. Earlier we passed the Ajax stadium and just 10 minutes ago passed Moenchengladbach’s stadium
  7. So much of what happened was right in front of us so, I enjoyed the race. One thing I consciously did was not take out my phone for much of the race. That made me concentrate on what was happening, track positions, tires, gaps, etc, as I have not done since I was covering dirt track racing. That made the race more enjoyable for me as I relied on myself and not the TV. I just wish I had taken my notepad with me to keep track. 🤣 We all remarked how much we enjoy that track and the changes in track elevation and how it has some banking and such. A lot of walking goes into a trip to Zandvoort. But totally enjoyable. The beach scenery is beautiful. Time for bed, driving back to Germany tomorrow.
  8. That was right in front of us and I instantly thought the same. But, the wind really took it out of play quickly. Although I’d probably not do that.
  9. The number of bikes is astoundingly astronomical we enjoyed ourselves. Saw some very good action. I thought it was fun. Stroll is incredible at how much he is terrible
  10. On the way to the track. The train transfer was much easier today after figuring it out yesterday
  11. So many bikes. I think that is the best way to get to the track. Thousands upon thousands. Of course, the train is great too. Until the wicked rain turned everyone into Lord of the Flies and boarding the train became warfare
  12. Right now the wind outside my bedroom window is crazy. There is not supposed to be rain At Zandvoort but, windy all day. Will definitely be an issue on the track. I’ve never been around such sustained wind. The only place I’ve been with some wind like this was Guam. But that wasn’t constant while I was there
  13. Will do. This storm hit not long after the crowd rolled out. It was wicked i will need some good WiFi after we go to dinner to post more pictures The dunes are somewhat different
  14. Weather has just changed in a big way
  15. I’d like to shoot this fuckin’ techno DJ grrrrr
  16. I go to bed now., so much Bier and I am but one man. We made a trial run today about how to get t to the race. There is basically no parking near the track, so we go by train. Opa Horst is 84-years old so that makes things a bit more difficult as far as planning how to get places but, the train should be just fine. honestly this win is something I have never experienced. If it was like this Saturday and Sunday you’d be hearing a ton about it. It’s will be very interesting if it is talked about during practice.
  17. We’re having fun. The wind is wicked. It’s warm. But tomorrow wind about 75-90kmh, all day. We are sure as shit going swimming. I told my German cousin, (no pictures) I’d take care of her in the crazy water
  18. Supposed to be 68F Saturday with about 50% chance of rain. Sunday, 65F with no rain
  19. We arrived in the Netherlands and it is windy as fuck
  20. On the ground! Breakfast of Champions
