You have to go all the way back to 1974 for the last time FSU lost at least nine game. They went, under the expert coaching of Darrell Mudra, 1-10. The lone victory was over, get this, The U, a 21-14 thriller at Miami (6-5).
That season FSU lost to #13 Pitt, Colorado State, Kansas, Baylor, #3 Alabama, #14 Floria, #5 Auburn, Memphis, Virginia Tech and #15 Houston. Mudra lasted one more season and the team finished 3-8 before hiring Bobby Bowden who left the idiots in Morganhole.
In Bowden's first seven seasons, 1992-98, coaching FSU in the ACC the Seminoles lost a total of nine games. Florida State will most likely beat Charleston Southern, who is 1-10, this week and then lose to Florida to close the season, thus equaling Mudra's 1974 season, and avoiding the 0-11 1973 season.
Bowden's final game at WVU was the Peach Bowl vs North Carolina State, coached by Lou Holtz, also in his final game before taking the Jets job, and failing miserably there and he quit with one game left on the schedule, and then moving to Arkansas for the 1977 season.
