  1. We went, not last season but in 2023. It was a lot of fun. We were sitting right across from the pits so we could see some interesting stuff. It’s certainly not a race for race fans. It’s more of a check-list event. Drove to Nice, train from Nice. Getting out of Monaco was a pain in the ass with over 100,000 people trying to get through to a train. Perhaps the funniest part was as we relaxed after the race and allowed most of the crowd to leave we couldn’t help but laugh at the people trying to weasel their way through to certain parties and yachts. It was fun. I’ll watch from the couch this year. Last year I watched on a big screen TV at a beach bar about 100 miles away and that was a lot of fun as well.
  2. Could you imagine the idiocy if Swoops and K. Perkins were to get married. She is such an unlikable human.
  3. Ha Ha, I didn't say everyone that went there was good. My buddy Kevin's mom went to Aliquippa with him.
  4. Everyone around here loves All The Right Moves. I don't think it is cinematic genius but, I think it was pretty accurate as far as the depressing nature of what it's like to be in a dying steel town. Filmed in Johnstown, fewer than 60 miles from my house. The coach of the rich-kid school was none other than Don Yannessa who was then coach of Aliquippa H.S., which happens to be one of the most impoverished schools in a dead steel town around Pittsburgh. It's also one of the most successful, Ditka, Darrelle Revis, Sean Gilbert, Ty Law, Jon Baldwin and many more played there. Later in his career Yannessa coached at Ambridge H.S., the town named for the company there, the American Bridge Company, which was sort of the basis for the movie's Ampipe H.S. I liked both of those movies.
  5. No, that was Big Red Walton and Portland beating Dr. J and the 76ers. EDIT: didn’t see the other response to the ‘77 championship
  6. I think Seattle got there in 1978 and lost to the Bullets and in 1979 they got back and beat the Bullets.
  7. The speeds these guys carry for four laps is truly remarkable & insane.
  8. Okie City better wake the hell up.
  9. I don’t really care who wins this game but, I did watch the pregame show and I am still flabbergasted that Kendrick Perkins is paid to speak on TV.
  10. I was going to add, but got distracted, that he is making a lot of "future money" this season. The way things go your assumption could be spot on about him getting into a different seat by the end of October.
  11. Hadjar is doing very well this year.
  12. This track scares me a little bit. Once they get one tire off the track and into the grass they just become passengers. Terrible for Ferrari. That’s bad. Well done by Williams in Q2. I find myself still cheering for Gasly & Albon as well. The wrecks by Yuki and Colapinto were not pleasant to watch. EDIT: And well done by Aston. For all the shit they have had to swallow this season that was a nice job.
  13. 👆One of the strongest HumbleBrags, EVER!👆 Just funnin', looks awesome!
  14. Largest lead tonight: Celtics 1 Knicks. 41 I could really go for a Los Tacos taco right now!
  15. Awesome. We went into the boxes at the Big East. A lot of fun. I love MSG
  16. What a buzz saw the Celtics ran into tonight. Wow
  17. "Put that fork down" "Drop the fork" Words many of those young ladies should live by, especially outside of WaffleHouse.
  18. I didn't hear if my buddy who played for the Knicks, way back, was going. I'll have to check with him later. I'm rooting for the Knicks.
  19. Pretty much anything on ESPN that features multiple people at a desk is awful
  20. Very impressive by Boston tonight although those uniforms suck
  21. The rivalry week is beginning. Tonight is KC at St. Louis. St. Louis is reeling and in a bit of disarray and have not won in seven or eight games.
  22. Oh man, he is. Mr. Doom & Gloom who also has no sense of personal space. I’ve known him since Catholic grade school.
  23. We have a guy who sometimes sits with us at the Pitt basketball games and he gambles on everything during the games. He's so fucking miserable all the time; "I just need two more points in the final 0:04 seconds and I will win." Pitt Hoops is difficult enough to watch I don't need some guy bitching about everything cuz he's losing $3,000 over a missed free throw. I'm not against gambling. My barber, and most of them around here, ran numbers. I don't gamble because I value my $$ but, the lines, in sports, have been forever blurred.
