  1. Suarez with a 2-run single. M's up 4-3 with 2 on and one out. Fucking White Sox are worthless.
  2. White Sox are going to fuck this up aren't they? Oh look it's the hottest batter on the planet. Great.
  3. This won't be a popular answer, but Roger Clemens is probably my least favorite Astro of all time.
  4. Not really a western i suppose, but I guess there's not better thread to discuss McMurtry. I just finished Terms of Endearment and thought it was excellent. Aurora Greenway is one of McMurtry's best characters. Some of the Rosie/Royce stuff dragged a bit, but, overall, I thought the book was very well done. Has anyone read the other books in his Houston series?
  5. More than a little surprised that Oliver Anthony hasn't been milkshake ducked yet.
  6. My submissions that I haven't seen mentioned. This one was popular if not technically poppy: This is just a great song:
  7. Anyone complaining about taking 2 or 3 on the road against Baltimore is just bitching to bitch. Sure the sweep was there for the taking, but that was a great result. The schedule is very favorable starting tomorrow until the series in Arlington in September. We need to dominate over this stretch.
  8. Not that it has been defensible for a while now, but how does Dusty justify starting Maldy over Diaz after today?
  9. Would help if we didn't keep having 1 pitch ABs.
  10. Chandler on Brown's comments re: a Tucker extension:
  11. The A's forgot to A's. Let's go pickup a game tonight.
  12. Let's not forget all the glowing coverage from the Brady Aiken contact negotiations.
  13. Maybe they're betting a few people will miss that three day window and they'll get paid?
  14. Although this is the best way to warm them, you can also put them in a toaster if you're pressed for time. or just don't want to wait for a comal to heat up.
  15. Aside from injuries, which the Rangers have had their fair share of too, the biggest difference in the division has been our propensity to play down to the level of our competition. For example, we are 4-3 against the lowly White Sox; 2-4 against the Twins; 1-2 against Detroit; and 0-3 against the Reds. Granted, the Twins and Reds aren't bad teams, but being 7-12 against those four teams is flat out unacceptable. Even on the rare occasions when the Rangers have stumbled against a bad team, e.g., losing a series against the Nationals, we respond by dropping 3 of 4 to the Mariners the same weekend. In a close division race, the team that beats the teams they are supposed to and doesn't give away winnable games will typically come out on top. That hasn't been us so far. Hopefully that'll change going forward. Starting Friday and running through September 3rd, we should be favored in every game we play. Over those 22 games, we really need to go 16-6 or better. If we don't, I don't think we will win the division, and, frankly, if we don't, we don't deserve to win it.
  16. Would like to see us put up a crooked number against Middleton.
  17. Oh Helo's here? I guess we just must have ourselves an asshole shortage, huh?
