  1. I hate this. No Blummer, Todd, or Julia for the unveiling:
  2. I'm not sure what type of deal he would be looking for given that he declined his $16M option with the Yankees, but thoughts on bringing in Rizzo to play 1B? He had a 131 OPS+ last season and a 127 OPS+ for his career. His defensive numbers seem to have dropped off since joining the Yankees, so he would likely be a significant downgrade from Yuli in that sense.
  3. If, like me, you missed Sparky’s locker room broadcast, here are some highlights.
  4. I remember in 2017 someone posted a recording of Sparky’s locker room celebration broadcast. Does anyone have one for this year?
  5. Sounds like Trey would gladly exercise his side of the mutual option.
  6. Will the parade be broadcast on local channels or MLB Network? I don't see anything on the channel guide, but I believe MLB Network aired the 2017 parade.
  7. I understand why Crane said his first call would be to JV given we have until Thursday to negotiate with him before other teams can. But I think the first call needs to be to Tucker to try to extend him now or at least get an idea of what an extension would look like when his contract is up in after 2025. Then I think you need to decide what you will likely do with Bregs and Altuve when their contracts are up after 2024. Those data points should drive any offer we make to JV. I'd love to have him back, but, as crazy as it sounds, resigning him does not extend our window in the way that extending Tucker would, and JV's contract, depending on how many years he's seeking, will affect what we can do there as well as with Bregs and Altuve. I'd love to bring him back on a 2 year deal with a mutual/player option for the third, but you need to have a plan for Bregs and Altuve to account for that option year and need to know what Tucker will cost to offer anything beyond 3 years.
  8. Three key takeaways: 1. Brantley staying involved despite his injury seems to have paid dividends; 2. Click had a deal to send Urquidy for Contreras, but Crane and Dusty nixed it; and 3. We would have also been without Bregman, Altuve, and Yuli if we had to play a game 7.
  9. I spent so much on WS champs gear last night I got an email from my credit card company to confirm they weren't fraudulent charges. What an amazing season. I still can't believe how we've managed to reload each season. Lose Cole and Morton? End up with the best rotation in baseball and have more guys than we can find innings for. Lose Correa? That's cool. We'll just replace him with a gold-glove winning, ALCS and WS MVP rookie. The annual threads are always a rollercoaster ride. But I'm glad to have been able to share another special season with you assholes.
  10. Not that I'd really expect him to say anything else, but it still sucks to read.
  11. I would let the NFL move the Texans to London if it meant we win this series.
  12. Small sample size, but here are Syndergaurd's splits from the two games he pitched against us with the Angels. He shut us down over 5.1 innings in his first start (We had JV on the mound and gave him 0 runs in support). We scored 3 runs off him in 4 innings in his second start, which included a HR from everyone's favorite utility man Diaz. Unfortunately, I think this means we may see Diaz in LF again. But what stands out the most is the incredibly low BABIP and SO/W. My guess is we will get some traffic on the bases, but we will need that BABIP to turn around. Even more so than most games, Altuve and Pena will be critical to our success against Synderguard as he may not even get a second trip through the lineup. Our success against him may come down to who gets ABs against him with RISP. If it's Yordan, Bregs, and Tucker, I think we score some runs. If it's Diaz, well, let's hope he barrels one up for the first time this postseason.
