  1. Of the guys from the 2017 team who left in free agency, he's the one I miss the most.
  2. Tony LaRussa is patiently waiting next to a banana he thinks is a phone.
  3. I don't think Crane has any interest in bringing back Hinch or Luhnow. One, I think he'd like to distance the team from the scandal as much as possible. Two, in Luhnow's case, Crane doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who will rehire an employee who sued him. It's a shame because I'd love to have Luhnow back in some capacity.
  4. Far be it for me to tell another man how to live, but it's probably too early to be this drunk.
  5. If we could get him for relatively cheap, I'd love to have him back. He's 39 and may not give you a full season, but I'd love to have him as our 3rd or 4th starter.
  6. Don’t renew Dusty’s contract. Don’t resign Maldy. Find a decent LF and some bullpen depth.
  7. Fitting end to the series: Brantley and Tucker do nothing with RISP.
  8. Of course Maldy is hitting here. Of course he is
  9. Perfect ending to the Dusty Baker era. Fucking dumbass decision after dumbass decision with not even the slightest hint of a plan. Fuck him for how he’s managed this team.
  10. Uncle Mike has had at least three opportunities with RISP the last two games and hasn’t driven in a single run. Just let down again and again by anyone not named Altuve, Bregman, or Yordan.
  11. Sure would be cool if Tucker and/or Pena unfucked themselves tonight.
  12. I would have rather seen Bagwell take the top of the 9th last night than Montero.
  13. It makes zero sense to run Singleton out there. I am not being hyperbolic. There is simply no logical or strategic reason to run him out there in that situation. He's not a contact hitter, and that's exactly what you needed there--someone who could hit a line drive to the outfield to tie it up. He drew a walk on Friday? Great. There are two outs, and Maldy is hitting behind him, who you ended up pinch hitting for anyway and likely would have if Singleton does draw a walk. So, at worst, you send Diaz up in that spot instead and guarantee an AB for the guy who you really want to hit there. I would have sent Chas up, you know that guy who has been a well-above average MLB hitter all season and homered in Game 4 and has the speed to leg one out if it comes down to it, but either way, you can't give Singleton that AB. Please someone tell me I'm missing something because I am losing my shit thinking our manager really just rolled with Singleton because he thought it would make a cool moment if he came through. Fuck it. We'll either celebrate going to the World Series again tonight or we'll celebrate Dusty not managing the team anymore. I refuse to entertain the possibility they'll bring him back for another season. If we do, we deserve to have the golden era come to an end.
