  1. I could not find a hot craps table and all the tables were $25 minimum. I turned $1k into $100 in about two hours. Thankfully the table turned and I clawed back to $800 with about 4 more hours of work.

Actually if I had stopped an hour earlier I’d probably have made money but the table was fun, the drinks were flowing, and the eye candy at Cosmo was pretty great.

  2. I need to go back and look who recommended but Bavette’s was frikin great. There is a “speakeasy” in the back and the bartender let us sample quite a few different whiskeys for no charge.

Also the adult video conference starts tomorrow and the cosmopolitan is hopping. I’m trying to figure out why I am leaving tomorrow.

  3. My youngest sister is a nurse in Austin (fyi she is hideous looking) and has worked with Covid patients since they beginning.  She finally tested positive for Covid this week. Contracted at the hospital? Who knows but she gave it a good run.

She described her symptoms as bad allergies and she gets 5 days off now.

God damn I am a true poor. I was happy about getting upgraded to first class for my flight to Tampa this week.

haha. I didn’t pay cash for any of it. All points. Most of the points was from cash that wasn’t mine. Business travel and credit card reward points can do amazing things.

How'd this go?  I am wheels up in about 3 weeks.  They did change the plane on us for the DOH-MLE leg on the way there, so no Q suite, which is fairly annoying, but nothing I can really do about it.  Hoping the rest stays the same.

Awesome. I forgot I posted this. Food was about the best I’ve had. ANA first is better but Sashimi is one of my favorite things.

The earliest evidence for Omicron’s swift spread came from South Africa, where Omicron rapidly grew to dominance in one province after another.

The three most likely origin are stories are that Omicron emerged from an immunocompromised patient; that it emerged from reverse zoonosis — human to animal transmission followed by animal to human transmission; or that it emerged from treatment of a Covid-19 patient with the mutagenic drug molnupiravir

It most likely evolved in a single immunocompromised individual, possibly someone who is HIV positive living somewhere in southern Africa who wasn’t receiving effective treatment, but there is no direct evidence for this.

I’ve also seen lab mice speculated as host of origin. Occam says unvaxxed population in SA. Which are the wypipo. We’ve got such here.

    Main point. Get people vaxxed:

Kind of my point. I don’t think we are going to know.

I would recommend getting the continent of Africa vaccinated.
