Bunch of us in 78756 have no water coming out of faucets, and it’s popping up all over our areas FB and ND.

I’m finding mixed answers on whether to fuck with hot water heater or leave it going until a good 12 hours or so have passed.  Like @Okie State going to turn water heater down to pilot

It may depend on your model of water heater. I lost all pressure for 8-12 hours and just left the heaters alone. Once the pressure was back they went right back to working.

I did go up into the attic to check them when they were without pressure and it seemed to me they went dormant and that’s why I left the heaters alone.

  2. 27 here! I think I get a centerpoint artic mug if I hit 36 hours.

Question: when all the faucets in my house have become a slow trickle that probably means the water pressure from the main is low?

Water temperature in house are still reasonable. I’ve managed to keep the interior between 64-66.

  3. Fuck this shit. I’ve been without power since 2 am. Thankfully my house seems to have been built well.

I built an aluminum funnel to direct heat from my range out into my house. I also finally figured out how to turn on my damn remote fire place manually. I’ve managed to get the downstairs thermostat to read 67. It’s near the fire place. And the upstairs is reading 71!

I have the three week old sleeping in his bassinet near the fire and the two year old in his room upstairs with the door open.

As long as the gas supply stays steady I think I’m going to make it.

We’re on what I understand is a “higher priority” circuit due to a large assisted living facility nearby.

That hasn’t helped this time. They are offline, too.

My parents on the other side of Spicewood have power. So that’s good. And if the wife and boy need to spend the night there, they can. I’ll probably stay here, sleep by the fire, and do what I can to warm up pipes if power comes on.

Same for me. I can count one time we lost power for longer then 15 minutes in the 5 years I’ve lived here.

I always figured the assisted living around the corner helped. Not this time!

No power since 2:30. Not sure what the temperature inside the house is, but 60 or less wouldn’t surprise me. If the power doesn’t come on in the next few hours, I may have to brave the roads and take my kids to relatives’ houses. This sucks.

Yup. I’m thinking the same thing right now.
