27 here! I think I get a centerpoint artic mug if I hit 36 hours.
Question: when all the faucets in my house have become a slow trickle that probably means the water pressure from the main is low?
Water temperature in house are still reasonable. I’ve managed to keep the interior between 64-66.

I’m still not having fun. I feel like this would have be more fun before I had kids or I was a property owner. Damn growing up and having responsibilities.

Fuck this shit. I’ve been without power since 2 am. Thankfully my house seems to have been built well.
I built an aluminum funnel to direct heat from my range out into my house. I also finally figured out how to turn on my damn remote fire place manually. I’ve managed to get the downstairs thermostat to read 67. It’s near the fire place. And the upstairs is reading 71!
I have the three week old sleeping in his bassinet near the fire and the two year old in his room upstairs with the door open.
As long as the gas supply stays steady I think I’m going to make it.

We’re on what I understand is a “higher priority” circuit due to a large assisted living facility nearby.
That hasn’t helped this time. They are offline, too.
My parents on the other side of Spicewood have power. So that’s good. And if the wife and boy need to spend the night there, they can. I’ll probably stay here, sleep by the fire, and do what I can to warm up pipes if power comes on.Same for me. I can count one time we lost power for longer then 15 minutes in the 5 years I’ve lived here.
I always figured the assisted living around the corner helped. Not this time!

Damn, didn't even see that post... -18 in JH without a wind chill probably ?
Haha yea funny coincidence.
Correct. That was not factoring wind chill.

110 in the middle of the outback. I flew home and 48 hours later I was in Jackson Hole where it was -18.

My gas range is somehow keeping my house warm. It’s 70 upstairs and 66 downstairs. Power has been off since 1:30 or so.

Power out at 0500 in The Woodlands/77382. Fuck Entergy.
Haha. Count your blessing. Power has been out since 1:30 AM with centerpoint.

No power since 2:30. Not sure what the temperature inside the house is, but 60 or less wouldn’t surprise me. If the power doesn’t come on in the next few hours, I may have to brave the roads and take my kids to relatives’ houses. This sucks.
Yup. I’m thinking the same thing right now.

Says there is 30,000 mw generation forced off the system. Seems not good.

You should drink bourbon, take one hits and listen to the Grateful Dead. That had always served me well.Balcones single malt for now.
Clearly not rolling blackouts here. Just a blackout.

We’ve been out for over an hour now so I don’t know if it’s ercot or something else. Either way, everyone else is asleep and I’m getting drunk. Whatever happens, happens and there isn’t anything I can do about it. It’s why I have insurance. Hopefully it doesn’t get too bad. I’m mostly worried about my pool. Oh well, it’s covered in my policy too.
Same. I think we live within a few miles of each other.

10-45 minutes my frozen ass…
Yup. And hour an 15 now for me.
Upstairs has dropped 4 degrees. Downstairs 3 in that time.
It’s frikin 18 according to Hooks.

The power went out right as the little one wanted to nurse. So I’d be up anyway.
-
It’s been 45 min without power now. Kids rooms are starting to get a little cold. Could really use this 10-45 min rolling blackout thing to be true or I am going to have to move them.
-
I have the upstairs at 76 which means the bedrooms are 72-73. I got two kiddos under 2 that don’t sleep with blankets. Sorry ercot.
I am impressed my house is keeping up for now.
