My house (Centex Homes early 2000s build) could have been much better and more usable with a very small increase in total cost, but tract builders are just the worst. Even if we live in the South some things should just be required by code. For one thing, I hate that my water cutoff valve is fucking buried in the yard and there's no way to cut off water from inside the house.
The code must have been changed recently. My cutoff is in the garage. I doubt my builder went above and beyond.
I also apparently have those fancy spigots shown a few pages back. Which is good because I don’t have a 1500w hairdryer.

My HEB curbside has been delayed. Think that falls between plague of frogs and raining blood on the OT acale.

I should have evacuated to the J hole house. Seems counter intuitive to go north but that house can withstand -100 probably.

I’ll be dipped. I think my builder used those. I’m still covering the faucets though.

I’m just thankful my oldest is a two year old right now. By the time he is in a school this should be figured out until the next pandemic.

Also, it looks like United is flying nonstop from IAH to JAC this summer most days of the week. Prices right now are around $500 which is pretty good unless Frontier is your thing.
Nonstop is a god send since I’ll be traveling with two kids now.

Taking my family to Yellowstone and Grand Teton NPs in July this year. Was going to stay in a cabin but have now decided to tent camp. What campgrounds do you recommend to look at? We can stay in either park or split the camping between the 2 parks. Going to be there at the end of July. TIA for any recs.
I’d get your spot reserved now. The number of people in both parks last year during July was the most I’ve ever seen.

For the schools that have been closed to in person learning can property owners get some of their taxes back? I would be inquiring.
Funding has to be even more f’ed up for some of these districts since funding is usually done by bodies in seats?

SIAP Here’s one more excuse officially gone, even though we know they’re all debunked by experience around the country.
No that was just her personal opinion. Not an expert one according to Psaki.
QuoteSo we’re just not — she — the — Dr. Walensky spoke to this in her personal capacity. Obviously, she’s the head of the CDC, but we’re going to wait for the final guidance to come out so we can use that as a guide for schools around the country.

Most of my colleagues have been practicing attorneys for over a decade. A of their spouses have full time jobs too. Maybe 10% own. The rest are still saving for that first down payment.
Self-selecting anecdote here, but I'm 38 and almost everyone I associate with has veered far left.
How is this possible? What is the entry price of these homes your colleagues are looking to buy?

I could see this maybe working with rapid testing. Anything else will turn into complete cluster.

Decided to bypass the international travel issues this spring. Was supposed to go to Mexico, but rescheduled for Puerto Rico. Waiting to see what other new restrictions roll out.
Always good to double check when going to Puerto Rico or Jamaica.

Please tell us more George Clooney from "Up in the Air". I can't hear you at my FBO.
You are clever. I prefer my own hanger to a FBO.
Having to take a Covid test 72 hours before departure would be problematic for a lot of people. I can’t remember the last business flight I booked 3 days out.

Jesus dude, it was hyperbole for effect. Please tell us what platinum status you have, we're waiting with baited breath. Always bet on a surly poster not getting the fucking point.
Status doesn’t help you travel smart.

You are traveling wrong.

WFH...how does it work?
Not all work can be done from home. I know, it is hard to believe.

My anecdotal piece. I've flown 40 something times since last March for work and vacation. I have taken multiple covid tests for work and I have yet to have a positive result.
Traveling is pretty simple. Airports are big and mostly empty. Stay away from people and don't be a gate lice. Wear a mask as much as possible during transit.
