South Korea's "spike" is 1 in 87,000 people getting covid daily. America is at 1 in 2,000. Not even comparable. Don't contribute to the anti-mask idiocy. Masks work. We now have small library's worth of studies that show it. Anti-science does not belong on a forum sporting Burnt Orange.

I hope you were wearing a mask while typing this.

Anyone been to a grocery store recently? Was it similar to this Hasidic wedding that happened recently?

    Yep totally the same thing

Thanksgiving is cancelled this year folks, sorry, thats just the way it is.  Hell, Christmas is pretty close to be cancelled as well at this rate.

    Does not seem entirely cancelled.

Organizers said the NTFB gave away over 7,000 turkeys and around 600,000 pounds of food in Fair Park to those families in need as the holidays approach and the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

Little known fact, Cody is slowly getting on the radar of rich people that aren’t rich enough for Jackson. Kanye looked here because of the difference in politics, but multimillionaires are moving here that can’t get in Jackson what the billionaires have.

Don’t know if this is entirely true. Last year a three acre plot with Teton views could be had for just north of $1mm. Doesn’t seem quite at billionaire level yet. There is a minimum square footage requirements so construction is probably a minimum of $3mm on top of that.

Another 40 acre plot with Teton views was $7mm. The price seems low because it currently cannot be subdivided.

Also quick PSA. JAC will be closed from April to June in 2022 for runway construction. Surly 1% will need to land their jets elsewhere.

edit: this is your $1mm view.

  5. I’m back in Walton County for some r&r and not surprisingly this place is a Covid hotspot. When I was here last month the restaurants were packed and not a mask to be found so it’s not surprising.

I will note it is definitely different this time around with masks. There are a number of signs up requesting people wear a mask to go inside and a lot more outdoor seating for restaurants.

Thankfully I dislike people so I keep to myself and enjoy the sunsets that keep happening no matter what Covid does.

  6. The economic impacts of this virus will have ramifications for a decade plus. Some people are crushing it and many many others are in trouble. It’s remarkable. I still cannot believe how strong real estate has been during this. The folks with means are buying up property left and right.

I inherited property in Jackson, WY and for the last decade there have been a dozen or so plots for sale off and on nearby. The prices never quite got back to 2008 levels. As of now there are no plots available. Everything has sold and prices have exceeded 2008. Who would have thought.

That was “in general”, covid closures aside, etc.

I’m sure most airports are a beating right now for seasoned travelers.

I am preferring traveling right now. Out of 27 flight segments this year I’ve missed an upgrade on one flight. First class is back to normal in that they are serving drinks as normal on United.

Most lounges being closed is kind of annoying but enough are open between United and Priority Pass to find one.
