Florida is opening up bars and restaurants to 100% capacity.

They've also decided not to penalize anybody for violating mask/social distancing orders, and it's apparently retroactive - if you got dinged for refusing to wear a mask somewhere that a city wanted you to, you don't have to pay the fine.

That's going to work out really well for them over the next few months.

I’m back in 30A right now and the restaurants are slammed. Lots of families vacationing while doing distance learning.

    *on that real estate tangent

Wife and I are examples of people successfully working remote and jobs may become permanent remote. We discussed moving to the beach and did a weeklong Airbnb and loved it. Real estate prices shot up and the value just was there any more by mid summer, IMO, at least not compared to where it had been the previous 12 months. Thought about the beach proximity/front lots but wondered about construction costs and timelines. We never made a move though.

Lumber costs have never been higher as far as I can tell right now. Construction costs are high to very high and timelines are tough to predict when workers get poached and don’t show.

Meanwhile I am slumming it in 30A but I have to fly back to Houston on Monday for other work. Really hoping the flight is cancelled. Beta is sending rain that is about to hit.

Do you still have power in Fort Walton?

Power has been out since 3:40 and the inside of our house is sitting in 2"-4" of water. Our only road out of the community is flooded and the starter on my truck took a shit yesterday. Songoing to try and stay in a hotel assuming they have power and I can get out some how.

Damn. I’m flying into ECP tomorrow and could be heading home same day then.

Hopefully you can get out soon.

I don't care what you are marching for, just don't block traffic.  Hell, there could be a million person march for making Michael Knight and Bad Teammate post only in the CR and I'd still be pissed if I was trying to get somewhere.

Blocking (or slowing down) traffic or not knowing how to go through TSA pre check are where I draw the line.

Posted again, video showing the altercation. There's a guy who's wearing white on his upper body walking behind a car at the beginning. That's the shooter. Victim is wearing light shorts and a black shirt. Not clear who is doing the shouting. Tweet above indicates that the shouting is done to identify the victim to a mob immediately before he is killed - it is not clear that there is a mob, or that the victim was the person being identified to others or if it was the other way around.  Personally I think it's the other way around as the shooter is walking away from the victim, but that is not clear.  Victim sprays mace (a cloud appears, later in the video the cameraman comments on mace in his eyes), the shooter fires immediately. Clear in the video that those two things happened in very close proximity, not clear if the mace was precipitated by a gun being pointed, the other way around, or what.

The man bent over in the second picture who declined to be interviewed is likely the victim

Thanks for additional context. I posted the tweet for the video. I tend to give whatever context people provide with a video on Twitter not a lot of credence.

How about people stop carrying and brandishing weapons all the fucking time? All of em. When a weapon shows up, the chances of shit going south skyrocket. So, fucking stop that shit.

    How does game theory work?

  7. I traveled to Nashville for work on Thursday and came back on Friday.

Inside Nashville city limits all liquor and beer sales are stopped at 10:30 PM. This was done to stop the bars which they could not close apparently.

This means you could not even buy a beer in the hotel and take it to you room after 10:30. Kind of lame. Thankfully upgrades on United are easy to come by and they are serving again.

I never understand why people overreact so far out. It is like clockwork though. Fear really is the mind killer.

2020 bro. Also most people know what the gulf can do to a storm and we see it happening right now.

It is going East because some butterfly flapped it’s wings. It could have easily gone west in another simulation.

    Also fear is addictive.
