Track guidance provided by NHC. Not super great for Texas:

As a result, the new NHC track
forecast favors a more southerly and westerly track solution similar to the preponderance of the track guidance. However, the
new forecast track has not been shifted as far to the left as the consensus models in the event that the models shift back to the
north. However, the latter scenario is appearing less likely based observed satellite trends since the previous advisory.

You can't close with a storm in the gulf anyway, right?  Seems like that was a thing when I bought my house...not in Galveston but a coastal county.

I believe the buyer would already have to have their insurance in place to close. They wisely do not right now so closing would not be possible until the storm is a non-factor.

It is a great property. Before Ike it was second row, now its beachfront. Let's hope it stays where it is.

  3. I’ll throw in a humble brag. I could have hurricanes hitting two beach houses I own. One in Galveston and the other in 30A. You should win a reward for that, right?

The Galveston house went under contract this week but demand on the island is so high closing is pushing out to 45 days.

edit: not that 30 days would help.

It's pretty damn insane.  Maybe on a few birthday like trips we'll go big but otherwise it's just a bridge too far.

Yea that’s another level. I pulled up the profile on my Garmin app to see.

I dabble flying in a TBM when going west and Baron 58. Turbofans were always another level. I had no idea the level gulfstream was at.

You know planes.  Have a chance to land a good block of hours on a Falcon 50.  Thoughts?  I trust the guy - has a fleet and just picked up a G4 too.  I can pay $500 more an hour for that one but will only do it rarely as it sucks fuel like nobody's business...Not to that G6 yet but figure this is a way for me to learn about em and not get totally crushed.  Technically it's a dry lease and he's putting me on his insurance etc.

Damn you aren’t kidding on the g4 fuel consumption. I figured a three engine would have to burn more per hour.
