Why is it that some people are so devoid of a sense of humor? Naturally, I’m referring to Hank Kingsley. As a warning, this letter will be a hard and bumpy read. Neverthelss, I contend it is a necessary read given that I am not predicting anything specific. I just have a feeling, an intuition, based on several things that are happening now that Hank will silence any criticism of the brainwashing and double standards that he increasingly has been practicing by the end of the decade. You can waste all your time arguing about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. Or you can actually provide support and care to those who have been impacted by inequality, inequity, injustice, and discrimination. You decide. The great thing about Hank—and by “great” I obviously mean “drug-addled”—is that he views countries and the people that live in them either as economic targets to be exploited or as military targets to be defeated. Only a true-blue stubborn slumlord or one who is completely clueless about barbarism could claim otherwise. While I don’t question Hank’s motives, and I certainly understand the frustrations of his zealots, just the other day, some of his spineless, belligerent pickthanks forced a prospectus into my hands as I walked past. The prospectus described Hank’s blueprint for a world in which recalcitrant, brainsick malefactors are free to give people a new and largely artificial basis for evaluating things and making decisions. As I dropped the prospectus onto an overflowing wastebasket I reflected upon the way that Hank cannot tolerate the world as it is. He needs to live in a world of fantasies. To be more specific, we need to enhance people’s curiosity, critical acumen, and aesthetic sensitivity. Unfortunately, reaching that simple conclusion sometimes seems to be above human reason. But there is a wisdom above human, and to that we must look if we are ever to discuss at length and in full horrific detail all of Hank’s beefheaded mottos and tetchy fulminations. I invite all voices who wish to participate in this discussion, and I am committed to ensuring that they are supported and able to be heard. Only through such conversations can we struggle unceasingly against Hank’s unremitting stream of cacodoxies and slander. There’s a clear path to achieving that goal: We must work together, help each other, get to know and trust each other, and uplift each other. If we do, Hank will be powerless to stop us from succeeding. I know I’m droning on, but I have a message for Hank. My message is that, for the good of us all, he should never use organized violence to suppress opposition. He should never even try to do such a sniveling thing. To make myself perfectly clear, by “never” I don’t mean “maybe”, “sometimes”, or “it depends”. I mean only that tyrants often wage war on their condemners under the guise of rooting out corruption. If you think about it, that’s no different from Hank silencing any criticism of the brainwashing and double standards that he increasingly has been practicing. I suppose there is one key difference, though: If you think that serfdom and slavery do not represent oppression unless the serfs or the slaves themselves “articulate” that oppression then you’re suffering from very serious nearsightedness. You’re focusing too much on what Hank wants you to see and failing to observe many other things of much greater importance such as that unpatriotic, intellectually challenged pseudo-intellectuals are somehow fascinated by his soporific diablerie, just as a dove is sometimes charmed by a glittering serpent. Unfortunately for such people, Hank lashes out with angry, simplistic, ad hominem attacks whenever someone so much as implies that he claims that the Scriptures are responsible for his rabid, otiose thoughts and fancies. This eisegetical fantasy is not only ingordigious, but it fails to consider that Hank’s fairy tales are all about ushering in the rule of the Antichrist and the apocalyptic end times. In other words, his fairy tales are based on miserabilism, with all that implies: loss of freedom of expression, thought control, and, ultimately, a totalitarian state. Okay, I admit that hatred and clericalism have no place in our community. But if Hank can’t be reasoned out of his prejudices, he must be laughed out of them. If Hank can’t be argued out of his selfishness, he must be shamed out of it. Let’s sum up our findings so far. First, we saw that Hank doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong. Afterward, I discussed how Hank lives in a world of privileged emotion devoid of any connectable empirical dots. From these two main points I believe we can conclude that the emotionally fragile and psychologically vulnerable spend their entire existence seeking out the cause of their torment and then searching for the ideal therapy. Hank capitalizes on this by trying to convince such people that embracing a system of Dadaism will make everything right with the world. Should we care that large numbers of the most heartless, irascible spalpeens there are actually believe such mischievous things? Should we try to convince them otherwise? I don’t think so. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that with all their sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, Hank’s reports are absolutely sententious. So what’s the connection between that and Hank’s positions? The connection is that only resolute and urgent action will prevent him from advocating fatalistic acceptance of an effete, addlepated new world order. Whether there will be the public will to demand and obtain that action, I do not know. All I know is that I, not being a liberticidal mome, like to speak of Hank as “disgusting”. That’s a reasonable term to use, I aver, but let’s now try to understand it a little better. For starters, he, with his craftiness and worthless nostrums, will entirely control our country’s exuberant riches within a short period of time. He will then use those riches to operate on a criminal—as opposed to a civil disobedience—basis. The moral of this story is that I would love to debate him about his views on demagogism. Alas, given how ill-prepared Hank is to win such a debate, he’s been trying to suppress the debate before it can even occur. Such behavior tells us that Hank intends to put his unsophisticated camorra in charge of slandering those who are most systematically undervalued, underpaid, underemployed, underfinanced, underinsured, underrated, and otherwise underserved and undermined as undeserving and underclass. We should not stand for that, with that, or by that. Rather, we should make it clear that Hank ought to unstop his ears and uncover his eyes. Only then will he hear that to which he has been too long heedless. Only then will Hank see that he wants to be the arbiter of all behavior. Creating division in the name of diversity: allowed. Listening to others: entirely forbidden. Converting freedom of speech from a human right into a tool of oppression that must be blunted by force: no problem. Improving the world: probably deserving of a prison term. Here’s a nugget of information that you might find interesting: I’ve heard more than one member of Hank’s unpleasant platoon of distasteful schnooks state, “People don’t mind having their communities turned into war zones, and therefore, arriving at a true state of comprehension is too difficult and/or time-consuming”. In other words (to translate this linguistic mess), the truth never escapes Hank’s lips. As an extreme example, consider Hank’s assertion that neuroticism is a noble cause. As far as I can tell, that’s pure invention. And by “pure invention”, I mean “an outright lie”. By all accounts, Hank’s most recent directives defy belief, even by the exceedingly low standards that I have for anything Hank writes. For instance, it turns out that he claims that his beliefs (as I would certainly not call them logically reasoned arguments) are all about giving a voice to the downtrodden. That they aren’t. They’re all about silencing the voices we already have by depriving us of the freedom to state in public that Hank believes that women are crazed Pavlovian sex-dogs who will salivate at any object even remotely phallic in shape. Unfortunately, as long as he believes such absurdities, he will continue to commit atrocities. What does this mean for our future? For one thing, it means that Hank thinks it’s good that his metanarratives obstruct various things. It is difficult to know how to respond to such monumentally misplaced values, but let’s try this: The term “idiot savant” comes to mind when thinking of him. Admittedly, that term applies only halfway to him, which is why I profess that if society were a beer bottle—something, I believe, that Hank holds in high regard—he would indeed be the nauseating bit at the bottom that only the homeless like to drink. He has the gall to inculcate the hermeneutics of suspicion in otherwise open-minded people. Let me explain. Once he accepts responsibility for the problems he’s caused, the focus shifts from who is responsible to what each of us can do about it. That represents yet more evidence—as if we needed more—that sinister forces, backed by Hank, seek to reinforce the impression that oleaginous cads—as opposed to Hank’s retainers—are striving to reinforce the concept of collective guilt that is the root of all prejudice. I choose to fight those forces, and I sincerely hope a majority of my readers will do the same. Although I’ve reached the end of this letter, I’m not going to sit down. I’m not going to shut up. I’m only going to redouble my efforts to direct your attention in some detail to the vast and irreparable calamity brought upon us by Hank Kingsley.

Saw it on the plane yesterday. I enjoyed it so much that I nearly watched it a second time. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I think it deserved awards noms for screenplay and directing. I liked it a lot more than Complete Unknown, which I also liked. Jason Reitman is a badass. -

During the Wimberley floods, they literally considered other aid organizations to be their "competitors." They were so worthless that they left Wimberley after 2 days. Also, Google "Red Cross Haiti." -

"Scientific" studies that use "meta analysis" are frequently complete bullshit because they rely on all the component studies being well-designed with zero bias in selecting them for inclusion, and this one is done by a bunch of dudes all affiliated with the same hospital in Argentina, which should raise a lot of red flags. Did you incorporate that fact into your decision-making?
