  1. God damn. There's some absolute, weapons grade stupidity in those aggy posts. That Higgs Boson guy makes Daddy98 and Karen seem like brain surgeons. And that is a monumental fucking task. Maybe they can find a way to put it on the wall?
  2. Quaron Adams seems like someone the staff might interested in - he ran 10.49 second 100 as a freshman. Running back from the same high school as Liebrock. Herman said he wanted more speed - this kid looks like he's been shot out of a cannon on just about every play from his HUDL: http://www.hudl.com/v/2Ak9uP
  3. Wow. Jalon Jones sounds like a peach. Seems like a situation where the NCAA might grant a waiver too - especially if the Steele family lawyers up.
  4. I mean, the potential trick plays alone should get him another star, right? I'm sure he'll get his fifth (sixth?) when our BOMC minions are finished altering the rankings solely to make aggy look bad - because they don't do plenty of that all on their own anyway...
  5. Nahlin isn't kidding. This young man looks like he might be a take at kicker or maybe even punter. There's an onside kick in his highlight reel that looked ten times better than anything we tried last season. Oh, and his highlights at WR are pretty solid looking as well. He's clearly very, very fast. It'll be really interesting to see how develops next year. Seems like a possible Tyler Owens situation - which would make it worth taking him just to watch aggy's collective head explode again. http://www.hudl.com/v/2AvmBg
  6. Please please please let them get Hornsby and miss on King. Hornsby's stock has been in a free-fall ever since more people discovered that he's a lot less athletic and polished than (the people who bought the hype) originally believed. And I REALLY want to see aggy meltdown when Hornsby commits and his ranking continues to drop down to low-four star/high-three star territory. It would be almost as good as Owens' fifth star.
  7. It amazes me how many words he can use to say absolutely nothing of interest whatsoever. Calling him a "semi-literate" would be understating the issue.
  8. The aggy animal husbandry department has a lot of work ahead of them if he's ever going to reproduce.
  9. According to his HUDL page, he's only 17. I'm interested to see how much development he has left. Hopefully, Herman just got a massive steal. Edit: I'm no Daddy98, but, to me, these look like pretty good highlights for a 17 year-old - even with the level off competition not exactly being elite: http://www.hudl.com/profile/3685597/Ben-Ballard
  10. I think this is generally true (and I can't comment on the football player stuff), but I've had a lot of family and friends go off to the Ivies and comparable schools as well. Some of them are doing well, some struggled for a long time (or are still struggling). One of my brothers has a JD from Harvard and an MA in economics from Yale. He struggled for a LONG time to find employment. To be fair, the legal job market was a train wreck at the time, but still... You'd think that résumé would open some pretty fancy doors, but it seems like it hasn't. And even now, he's definitely not on society's "upper crust." My other brother went to Duke and got his JD from NYU (shout out to my sister for keeping me from being the family "fuck up"). He'd definitely be considered part the "jet set" you described, but he also gets worked like an animal and I don't know that the connections he made at Duke and NYU really helped him all that much. I also don't see much point in having money if you never really get to enjoy it and you're going to have a heart attack or stroke and drop dead in the office before your 50th birthday. I have other friends who've gone to Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Duke, Columbia, Brown, etc. and it's kind of a mixed bag. Some of them have senior positions at places like Blackrock and TOMS. Some of them are glorified administrators. Others are teachers at private and public schools. One of them works in a freaking chocolate factory (seriously). Ultimately, I think that your family background has something to do with it as well - especially within the Northeast prep school crowd. On the other hand, a lot of my friends from UT went on to do crazy stuff. One is a very successful art dealer in London. Some are partners at places like Norton Rose Fulbright and Jackson Walker. Another is a very successful real estate developer (or something like that) in Hong Kong. Someone else is a professor at Cornell. And a couple of them are bartenders, substitute teachers, and middle managers. That said, I agree with you - I love UT, but I would take an offer from one of the big three in a heartbeat. It definitely helps your odds, but a lot of what happens depends on how you handle your business. If you don't do the right things, you can still end up working in a chocolate factory...
  11. Oh, and since Liucci's dumb ass clearly reads Surly, I just wanted to throw this in for good measure: Go fuck yourself, Billy, you halfwit peasant.
  12. That's kind of my thought as well. Johnston seems to have better speed, athleticism, and size - or at least height - than Omeire. But again, I'm willing to defer to the staff. As long as it doesn't wind up looking like post-2008 Mack and Bobby Kennedy are drawing up our WR board, I'll be mostly happy for the moment. But I still think Johnston looks like he's got a ton potential.
  13. He seems more disconnected from reality than usual today. Of those eight blowouts, Clemson was on the winning end of half. Maybe we should just put them in every year no matter what? Best of all, one of the biggest ass kickings was Jimbo getting thoroughly destroyed by Oregon in 2014. That beating was "my wife left me for a 20 year old on a rival team" level emasculating. Maybe we can make a rule that no Jimbo coached teams can go to the playoffs too? Not that it's ever going to be an issue while he's at aggy.
  14. Re: TFB Inside Post It sounds like the staff isn't pushing very hard for Quentin Johnston. I'm inclined to trust them on evaluations and receiver recruiting, but, if they aren't pushing, I really hope it doesn't come back to bite us later. Maybe they are recruiting him more than is being reported - I have no idea. Because not only does Johnston appear to be a perfect fit for what they've been doing on offense, he also seems like the kind of kid whose stock could skyrocket during his senior year. Just a thought. Like I said, I feel like the staff has earned some trust when it comes to recruiting receivers.
  15. She has some kind of position in his endowment or something, I believe. I'm sure the whole thing is completely legitimate and not at all related to paying players.
  16. YES! I'm super happy to be wrong about this. He'd be a huge get for us.
  17. I'm assuming they weren't cheating hard enough? Let Kirby get outbid, maybe?
  18. This photo is absolutely Lovecraftian. Everyone who looked it is now a little bit less sane.
  19. Typical Hamm/aggy generally: ignore anything that doesn't support the warped worldview that aggy is the bestest ever at everything! He'll be back to talking all kinds of shit right before going 0 for 16 in no time.
  20. Follow up, if you've got a second: what would having an ACDF likely mean for his career? I know the odds of him needing another fusion at some point would be good, but I'd imagine the time-frame on that possibility could be all over the place. I also know there would definitely be a chance he'd be done, but not much about the kind of odds he'd be facing. Assuming he could come back, do you have any idea about that kind of timeline?
  21. I know you're joking, but a while ago someone said something to the effect of "if you buy Dabo's act, I have some beautiful beachfront property in Oklahoma I'd like to sell you." That person was 100% correct. In terms of sliminess, he's much further up "the list" than some of you think.
  22. Dabo is telling Feaster that he's going to get the same or close the same number of carries as Etienne. It might even be sort of true - if you could a bunch of garbage time hand offs when Clemson is up by 70 on Wofford as "the same or close to the same." Unfortunately for us, it's working and everyone expects Feaster to stick around. The reality, though, is that Dabo won't hesitate to stick him right back on the bench in favor of someone like Dixon the incoming freshman from Florida if he thinks one of those guys is better. It's not impossible that Feaster will enter the portal, but it's looking pretty unlikely right now. I hope I'm wrong.
