  1. OU's logo modified with the pink-stink and fisting hand motions... nice.
  2. @immamac: I'm in for one of the tickets and will gladly pitch in for the road trip/RV expense
  3. Fuck you, I ain't goin' anywhere.
  4. CFP expansion is what happens next. It's necessary for the realignment, necessary for the megaconferences and absolutely the right thing to do. Then we get our own SEC bagmen involved and piss everyone off on the next NSD. Eventually knock Bama down a peg and watch Saban retire. We (and OU fans) collectively laugh at Kirby Smart when he starts his next John Parker Wilson type QB and raise a brow when Leach tries recruiting Texas again. Neyland is pictured with more burnt orange in the stadium than safety-cone orange.
  5. Time for some new member flood control
  6. Boob [not ever attending a] Bowl [sby]
  7. The B12 Leadership furnished said rope behind our backs. Did nothing to build success on its member institutions.
  8. Go on.... ...beyond the collection of head gaskets and transmission synchro sets in the garage and Melissa Etheridge Radio on repeat in the Living Room
  9. He didn't make a mistake and even then, offered an apology, but cancel culture works both ways, and the ratings for Katie's opener isn't looking so great. Not ready for David Spade, either. I'm probably not in until Paradise resumes.
  10. Gotta get that Discount Tire road hazard warranty. Thing is, I don't even bother with Discount Tire anymore. These are on three-stage refinished HREs, Discount Tire would surely fuck up, so I switched to a mobile and enthusiast-oriented tire and wheel guy.
  11. Here's an excellent way to ruin my weekend and piss away $430 on a replacement tire. Was a new Continental Extreme Contact Sport in an odd size that I can't retrieve until Tuesday. I am now looking at LS/LT-swapped Jeeps to add to the stable.
  12. Bonus: The ACC remains absent after the Sweet Sixteen
  13. Is this where we have an opportunity to fix it with legislation, or pass it on to the taxpayer and look the other way, while using Trump as a convenient yesteryear talking-point of distraction?
  14. Matt has so poorly handled this season that I'm likely to just delete the DVR queue and stop watching for a while. Bring back BIP, or I'm out.
  15. We're not supposed to discuss enforcement of the current law and amnesty quotas already in place, are we? Humane means of immigration exist through consulates, but it's not a swift process, nor accommodating enough to the masses who annually exceed these quotas, to the tune of one million annually. It's that piece of the system that's actually "broken," right now, not enforcement or states' rights.
  16. "We're gonna fix immigration, but don't come now," type messaging, and likely poor PR by the White House to Mexico and the rest of Central America. The unfortunate collateral to granting DACA amnesty might influence families to send off more of their children, for at least an opportunity to enroll in public schools, find a free meal/shelter and potentially land a future DACA-type fortune. Free flights to other border towns and diverting FEMA resources to pick up for CBP is bad PR to the American taxpayer as well.
  17. Concerned Democrats - "Have you tried just throwing a few squares at the plebes while looking the other way? We do that with our southern borders and it's all working out just fine! No, we don't need to address the root of the problem just yet, these tasty squares will hold them over until the next administration anyways!" Concerned Republicans - "Have you tried doing nothing about this while talking around the problem? Deflection is a far cheaper method, bro! I mean, someone's gotta pay the maintenance schedule for the Corporate Learjet."
  18. That's great when inflation isn't a thing and central banks aren't printing their asses off among an asset bubble in the longest bull market run in history. This ball of yarn will never correct itself.
  19. The title of the thread is "rewarding financial irresponsibility" and, ironically, to keep the pitchforks down and money printer hot, we're now in full-send basic income* *one or more fuck trophies required
  20. Great win for the Banks and Chinese goods I suppose? Fantastic mechanism to slow down the already-snail's-pace of the IRS, much like diverting FEMA resources to border response. It's another form of entitlements the middle-class taxpayer is on the hook for, and one that I'll never realize. I support the economic stimulus motivation, but when 60% of the first-round CARES-act stimulus payments were diverted into savings or paying down debt, these direct payments have proven marginally effective. https://www.nber.org/digest/oct20/most-stimulus-payments-were-saved-or-applied-debt
  21. It's no longer a tax credit, the IRS is now issuing $300 monthly checks to the too-WIDE pool of eligibility, including those who now have no work incentives/requirements. It's absolutely an effective stimulus, but becomes basic income policy if the benefit continues beyond December. It's flawed and has no spend stipulation, diapers be damned.
  22. Funny, given the title of this thread, I assumed it hinted at ever-expanding entitlements programs, now the no-strings-attached, $3,600-per-child benefit attached to the COVID-19 relief bill. https://www.businessinsider.com/child-allowance-payment-stimulus-bill-basic-income-2021-3 https://www.dallasnews.com/opinion/commentary/2021/03/14/thanks-to-the-stimulus-bill-child-allowances-are-here-to-stay-but-we-have-to-pay-for-them/?utm_source=pushly
  23. I'm jealous of the light control and contrast of modern LCD and OLED displays-- they'll always be a couple steps ahead of the projector but also difficult to mimic the cinema feel. This is one of those interests where if you keep using it, you'll keep convincing yourself of the ways you could "make it better." I'm now as the point where I'm ready to ditch the AVR for a processor/amp(s) setup (Yamaha CX/MX-A5200 or Anthem AVM/MCA) and relocate the projector into an enclosure outside the room. Have a hundred other projects I'd rather knock out ahead of it.
