  1. Doesn't make a shit, Jordan's gone now, thanks to that pinata stunt. I thoroughly enjoyed it and his call out on Espadrilles-- which now I realize are synonymous for loafers.
  2. Must be nice to peak out on national TV. Also filed under "must be nice," Chris is in a fantastic spot to be invited back. Older dude among a fresh and much younger cast, been around a few times before and is already wary of Annaliese, but didn't have to offer much more than eye contact to pull her in.
  3. I bought a Vinotheque insulated cabinet with racks last year that fits perfectly into the recess below my stairwell. It holds about 120 bottles and is insulated, but was missing the refrigeration unit. I had to shell out another $1400 for a WhisperKOOL 2500 cabinet system with controller and probe, but now it's under warranty and I can cellar some nicer stuff. The decorations are temporary-- I've got a collection of nice wine crate panels that I'll cut down to fit over the wall as a veneer.
  4. Well then ARC has nothing to fucking do with it. Stop trying to source-switch through the soundbar, use optical, set the TV to external audio, enjoy life. Also post model numbers first. Is that shit fixed yet?
  5. I've spent time away from NSAA and didn't realize Demi swings both ways.
  6. You're on the right track and the few logical proposals offered earlier on registrations and tightening purchase loopholes are worth it also. The mountain of gun ownership is far too large to consider an immediate and outright ban but some traction can be made by chipping away at that mountain without emulating some of the silly stuff on California's books.
  7. According to Senator Cornyn, I must be a minority now. Can't wait to enjoy all those minority benefits! BRB, going to file my LLC... Instead, we have a DNC nominee attempting to define "White Privilege" on cable television and in front of Detroit. I selected German as my elective language in school, thinking it might be cool to learn more of my heritage. I didn't realize that only helps me now when buying car parts online and the little Spanish I picked up on the way only helps with my taco order. It's not all rainbows and puppies over here, bruddah.
  8. Semi-automatic weapons are just the easiest, readily-available tool an assailant chooses for an act of terrorism. That doesn't solve the problem, but it does require more time for the perpetrator to pack a backpack with a nail-filled pressure cooker or rent a U-Haul and fill it with ammonium nitrate and diesel. We've made positive strides on making it more difficult for the average joe to purchase hi-po fertilizer in bulk.
  9. Good. Now he's got a limited-lifetime of prison ahead of him to be introduced to older, wiser, white and hispanic men who can give him the Edward Norton racial re-education experience a'la "American History X," just before the Pavulon does the rest of the work for the victims and their families.
  10. This, but if the sound bar has an HDMI input (and supports ARC), you should just nix the optical cable altogether and run HDMI from the ARC-compatible input on your TV to the soundbar. Use the TV setup menus to change the audio settings to an external system. Might also help to disclose model numbers of the TV and sound bar.
  11. Pretty impressive record for owning an e92 M3 for such a long term, given the typical things others went through, like rod bearings, peeling interior plastics, rough M-DCT shifting, worn and open differential clutch pack and projector headlights stuck in high/low beam.
  12. That must have been a 328i, amirite? Signed, former N54 owner.
  13. Cooling components too, especially the E36 and E46 water pumps and brittle plastics, from radiator unions to reservoir bottles. Seems a cooling system overhaul was common maintenance for cars beyond 60k miles.
  14. South Florida isn't even part of the U.S. any longer. Better have your own security detail or Boricua compinches to clear that trip for you.
  15. That’s not “abuse”, it’s just a drive cycle that doesn’t allow the charging system to activate. BMW (and a few others) activate their alternators with engine braking. I’m a dickhead know-it-all and can’t sympathize for those who don’t understand how their cars work. Want to treat your car as an appliance? Toyota makes a shit ton of those.
  16. I don't even give them the credit of building the Supra-- the whole car was contracted with inputs on tuning and sheetmetal to separate it from the Z4. TMNA's HQ is in my backyard and I've ripped on the brand to their associates but it's clear TM is incapable of creating anything beyond appliances now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jbyzmtgU_0Somewhere in this 9/11-explained-like BMW-Supra video the author cocked up to explain all about the Toyota-BMW partnership, a side-story evolves about the Kaizen principles Toyota exercised on BMW to make the B58 engine "Toyota-worthy" of precision, efficiency and reliability....then I'm reminded of the BRZ/FRS and struggle to maintain a straight face.
  17. Replace the battery in the key fob, unless it does that with the secondary fob as well. Some models actually use inductive rechargeable keyfobs but you'd probably know that and would have charged it by now.
  18. Probably not and it was far too watered down to become effective, but a noble step in the right direction to reform healthcare costs (and ultimately who's paying for it). Only the lobbyists won.
  19. The phrase, "This is why Trump," was thrown around on another forum I follow and is a point still lost by the Dems to this day. The foundation behind the ACA was hopeful but its implementation was so poor that it pushed the party-parity-pendulum in full swing, as EU free-movement among a looming migrant powder keg and kettle/toaster appliance regulations in the EU pushed the Brexit agenda. Obamacare is exactly why Trump and now politically-aligned moderates join a similarly small table with libertarians, appearing nearly as crazed to the ill-productive sides of both extreme left and right. Force-feeding opposing-party-thought is why we're here to shitfest, right? Stop labeling immigration policies you don't agree with as 'racism'. Melanin and cultural identity has little to do with it and if anything, is just a war on the poors, assuming someone will be stuck with the check to pay for them. Not-so-thinly-veiled here: https://www.cnbc.com/2019/05/15/trump-immigration-plan-puts-emphasis-on-skills-education-over-family.html
  20. I'd argue work isn't the primary motive for a significant number of migrants who have yet to settle here. Asylum claims have risen 1,700 percent over the last 10 years due to gang violence and worsening economic conditions in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. Those nations haven't fostered educations or skills that could translate to much useful work here anyhow, making the U.S. just a slightly-nicer destination to continue persecution. Where does the list of free shit conclude, since they must wait a minimum of 180 days for a work permit from USCIS, assuming their permit for residency passes at all?
  21. That 1GR-FE V6 engine and 5-speed auto were already 10 years old before Toyota assembled your 2018 4Runner.
  22. Disagree, Porsche does it better for driving dynamics but perhaps BMW keeps the crown on ergonomics. The X70 and F15 were porkers on the scales and felt just as hefty behind the wheel. Haven't tried a G05 yet but I want to believe they put it on a slight diet. The X3 M40i is a hoot and well-underrated on power. I don't prefer the looks but it's easy to argue that it's more fun and powerful than the SQ5 and Macan S.
  23. With a production date of 2015, your shit is probably already dry rotted. Finnicky, overrated, heavy and noisy Pirellis.
  24. Why not both? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_temperature
  25. I'd argue better at some products (bipolar and active towers) but probably negligible in others, especially subwoofers. I'm about to take delivery of my DefTech 5.2.4 ATMOS setup and wary of the decision but going with in-walls. Their UIW RLS II for the front stage, UIW RSS II for rear surrounds and DI 6.5 for height (ceiling). Their implementation of sealed melanite enclosures and performance/$ caught me. No idea why they went with open-baffle in-walls on GoldenEar, also multiples more expensive. Subs will be a pair of SVS PB2000 in opposite corners of the room, just 208 s.f.
