  1. Bingo. They also just reinforce the idea that a woman can only have control of her own body after someone has violated her.
  2. You think DM'ing a personal attack is "polite" as opposed to being to cowardly to publicly say what you're thinking. Which god knows you can do. You certainly like expressing your views on women's personal decisions.
  3. How magnanimous of you. You're not always opposed to women's personal decisions about their own bodies. We aren't asking for your approval.
  4. Fuck no. For reasons like this: That said, the same SCOTUS justices who thought that Westboro Baptist Church had a First Amendment right to protest funerals, can absolutely reap what they've sowed.
  5. These are people who were fine with separating babies from their mothers. The Kool Aid was drunk long ago.
  6. The blog post:
  7. Yeah. Republicans never make baseless accusations of pedophilia.
  8. Um, the neighbors organized the protest. https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2022/05/07/wooten-holway-protest-justice-kavanaugh-neighbor/
  9. There's a law enforcement exception to HIPAA. And law is Calvin ball anyway now. I suspect providers in states where abortion will remain legal will do everything in their power to protect people coming from TX or LA or wherever. But that's a shaky basis to rely upon for those women's lives. And that only protects women wealthy enough to travel out of state for a procedure that they probably will need to pay for out of pocket.
  10. Would professional liability coverage even protect the doctor in this suit? I'm assuming the insurance company would disclaim coverage because intentional act/criminal conduct. I can't imagine any doctor wants to be potentially brought into that shit show.
  11. Irony is dead.
  12. It's similar to the anti-CRT nonsense. It's not actually about CRT. It's about creating vague, onerous laws that put teachers at risk of losing their career, being fined, or even going to jail for teaching, such that no one competent or sane would want to teach in public schools. End result is a gutting of public education. But the pols' kids will go to fancy private schools, so who gives a fuck. Same here. Pass vague, cruel laws that make it all but impossible for OB/GYN's to practice. Decimate women's health care in general, including access to abortion, but expanding out to any kind of healthcare. The rich will still have access to healthcare elsewhere.
  13. I think they absolutely think about the real world consequences. They want the cruelty. They want to shit upon poor women. They know their wives and daughters have the money to get on a plane and go to NY or, after 2025 Mexico, and get whatever "concierge healthcare" (read basic women's healthcare) they want. They give no fucks if their constituents die.
  14. Also would end IVF treatments. All this is a great way to fuck with women's healthcare for more than "just" abortions. Who the fuck would want to practice as an OB/GYN in Louisiana and deal with this shit?
  15. Also, conservative media attention can deflect from the opinion with coverage on, gasp, the leak. GQP candidates can deflect from going on the record defending Alito's opinion.
  16. You're missing that the opinion will be out before the midterms, leak or not. People will be outraged by the opinion. Leaking it cements the opinion--Kav or whoever doesn't want to be seen as caving to public pressure. Also, they aren't concerned about the midterms. That's why they had to gut the Voting Rights Act before Roe.
  17. NSIAP
  18. Yup. I thought this was because of the interview Cawthorn gave about cocaine orgies with other GQP, and now they're going after him a few weeks before his primary, and the NC GQP is backing his primary challenger.
  19. It's only said that this is what will get him in trouble with voters. As opposed to, say, idolizing Hitler.
  20. Personally, I'd go to the TWA hotel with that long of a layover.
  21. Bullshit. The right to abortion goes back to (at least) the Talmud. But the right only likes to refer to "Judeo Christian" values when they want Jews to co-opt their "values."
  22. Healthcare. Romneycare was enacted in 2006.
  23. Fwiw when I went through customs at jfk in December they didn’t even look at my passport. Photo was in there from the app and I got through customs in 2 minutes max. Probably just lucked out though.
  24. The amount of men on this board blaming RBG, Susan Sarandon, Susan Collins, and suburban moms for this is telling. Maybe you could redirect your ire to Kavanaugh, Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch, Trump, Bush, McConnell, and the majority of men who vote GQP.
  25. Lucky for them they gutted the Voting Rights Act first.
