  1. For only $60 a knife. And you get a light up display case. I am so in the wrong racket. I should be making a killing selling crap to morons.
  2. Anyone have any recs for a place to stay that's somewhat budget friendly for 4-5 days, maybe in Arenal? I'm going with some friends to Parador, and already spending 5 days there. And I'd love to tack on a few days in another part of the country. But, honestly, most of my budget is blown with Parador, so not looking for anything fancy.
  3. So the leopards ate her friend's face, and she's considering maybe no longer publicly supporting the Leopards Eating Faces Party, just only voting for the leopards to eat people's faces.
  4. Why not both? Yes, they clearly fucked up. But you're okay with asking doctors to find the exact right time when something's a "medical emergency" as a patient becomes septic and then enters septic shock? Just because the doctors also fucked up, doesn't mean the government should be legislating this crap. Maybe the Georgia legislature could write a law that doesn't allow the doctors to use the law as an excuse for their malpractice.
  5. No. But they can't get a D&C to remove embryonic or fetal material unless related to a spontaneous abortion or for a "medical emergency."
  6. Read the article. Georgia only allows D & C's for spontaneous abortions or "medical emergency." Because she admitted that it wasn't a spontaneous abortion, but that she had taken an abortion pill, Georgia law didn't allow the D & C. Or at least that's how the physicians, who were risking jail time, interpreted Georgia's poorly written law on the subject.
  7. This is simply enraging. https://www.propublica.org/article/georgia-abortion-ban-amber-thurman-death?fbclid=IwY2xjawFVnqJleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHTvOGh_zzOaPWHoQypY5qvcRQ_XPT5FskBLEPizhbRbEmJqN-mP7Kqyorg_aem_uXC0oM9XD506siicK1w-Xw In her final hours, Amber Nicole Thurman suffered from a grave infection that her suburban Atlanta hospital was well-equipped to treat. She’d taken abortion pills and encountered a rare complication; she had not expelled all of the fetal tissue from her body. She showed up at Piedmont Henry Hospital in need of a routine procedure to clear it from her uterus, called a dilation and curettage, or D&C. But just that summer, her state had made performing the procedure a felony, with few exceptions. Any doctor who violated the new Georgia law could be prosecuted and face up to a decade in prison. Thurman waited in pain in a hospital bed, worried about what would happen to her 6-year-old son, as doctors monitored her infection spreading, her blood pressure sinking and her organs beginning to fail. It took 20 hours for doctors to finally operate. By then, it was too late. The otherwise healthy 28-year-old medical assistant, who had her sights set on nursing school, should not have died, an official state committee recently concluded. Tasked with examining pregnancy-related deaths to improve maternal health, the experts, including 10 doctors, deemed hers “preventable” and said the hospital’s delay in performing the critical procedure had a “large” impact on her fatal outcome. Their reviews of individual patient cases are not made public. But ProPublica obtained reports that confirm that at least two women have already died after they couldn’t access legal abortions and timely medical care in their state. There are almost certainly others.
  8. Why can't the media fucking call them "lies"? Trump and Vance didn't "claim Haitian immigrants are eating pets." They "spread lies about Haitian immigrants eating pets." This shouldn't be difficult.
  9. Oh, no. The leopard is eating Tillis' face.
  10. Every accusation is a confession.
  11. They have no interest in winning new votes. They don't give one flying fuck about voters or actual votes. Their only interest is hoodwinking their cult. Both into voting for them and also into thinking the election is stolen when Harris wins it.
  12. The irony of these fucksticks faking outrage over fake stories of going to another country to kill cats.
  13. From the actual article: The only candidate in the United States to have received an endorsement from a celebrity as powerful and as well loved as Taylor Swift is Beto O’Rourke, who was treated on Election Day in 2018 to an image of Beyoncé wearing one of his campaign’s signature trucker hats. It was a stamp of approval in his race against the most loathed politician in America, Ted Cruz, from, as he puts it, “perhaps the most famous person to ever emerge from the state of Texas.”
  14. I can think of exactly one time I've seen him laugh:
  15. If your argument is the moderators were unfair because they didn't parse out the meaning from a load of rambling and double talk from trump and whether Harris was couching it correctly, but corrected trump on whether immigrants are stealing cats to eat them for dinner, you're a cult member who has lost all common sense.
  16. So it's gotta be way more than that? I don't think it takes into account multiple people watching one stream or tv together.
  17. Completely anecdotal, but I'm in a text group with a few other women from around the country who met and became friends at this function. The sole Republican in the group, a white woman from a swing state who described herself as upset with the overturning of Roe, was ragging on trump at least as hard as the rest of us last night. Not naive enough to think she's definitely voting for Harris, but she certainly wasn't holding back on her opinions of trump.
  18. Once Harris mentioned people walking out of his rallies, nothing anyone did to prep him mattered.
  19. Yeah, and if you're in court, you have a judge correcting the crazy person's nonsense. There's no fact checking here. Just a shit spewing moron who can't shut up. Coming off well against when you're trying to argue facts and logic against shit spewing orangutan is more difficult than appearing confident and knowledgeable in a reasoned debate.
  20. Homemade pasta. It always comes out disgusting when I try to make it. Too thick. Or mealy. Or just plain off. I cannot get it to come out okay.
  21. Same. In court, the hardest people to have on the other side of an argument are the pro se crazy people, when you're trying to steer the argument in a logical direction and they're going off on off the wall tangents on irrelevancies you never even thought of. It's always easier to debate someone when you have an understanding of the logical things they may address. You may win the argument when it's a judge with knowledge deciding. But when it's just a bunch of vapid commentators and an electorate 40% of whom are in a cult, you can just come off as flailing in trying to address the inanity.
  22. After 2016, WI has elected a Dem governor (a flip from Scott Walker) and two Dem Senators and flipped the state Supreme Court to Dem control. There was also a referendum pushed by the right, which failed a few weeks ago.
