  1. Fucking lovely.
  2. Why worry about truth when you have a rabid base and can pass voter suppression laws?
  3. Agreed. The 1 percent made money during the pandemic. And to the extent the other 99% are screwed by this they can blame Biden, AOC, and socialism. Something else is going on.
  4. Good to know Kilmeade's on board with abolishing the police.
  5. The consequences of their choices should include not being able to fly between states. Interstate travel clearly falls within the federal government's ambit, and they should require proof of vaccination for those over 12 to get on a plane. People are still free to make choices, but those choices have consequences, such as being stuck in Mississippi.
  6. Funny how the same people who yelled last summer about “shutting down the economy” and about how people would die as a result of the isolation and grandma should die for the economy are fine with ignoring the effects of keeping the pandemic raging.
  7. Agreed on Observation Point. It has views at least as good as Angels Landing, but without the danger. Angel's Landing is spectacular, and I did it off season without many crowds and on a beautiful day, and didn't find it particularly tough, but I'm sure it's much worse in crowds or when it's windy. Coalpits Wash trail was easy and less crowded/popular than some of the others, but beautiful with lots of wild flowers. I don't remember ever feeling particularly isolated and there were always a lot of people around. But cell service was spotty at best, although maybe it's improved since I was there 5 years ago.
  8. And Teen Vogue is doing a better job of reporting this than other media
  9. They’re probably hoping only for insurance money. They probably owe money on the property at this point. There’s going to have to be remediation and clean up from the collapse and the fires. Never mind that no one would ever want to buy that lot and build on it again.
  10. Not if you're a female married to a cop.
  11. Would a condo that close to the beach carry flood insurance? And would that cover structural repairs due to the water damage in the garage?
  12. Wouldn’t the condo association carry insurance to cover major structural damage though? Seems odd to have a special assessment for foundation type stuff.
  13. The Republicans don't want to repeal anything. They only want to campaign on repealing shit. They don't actually want their voters to be pissed off for losing health insurance, etc. They just want to gin up grievances against Obamacare and black people. The Republicans are fine with the filibuster even when they control the Senate-judges and tax cuts only need 50 votes. There's no actual legislation they want to pass.
  14. Agreed. And the selfish assholes who won't get vaccinated are putting the lives of cancer patients at risk
  15. Who can't other than the kiddos who at a near zero risk? A lot of cancer patients, depending on type of cancer, treatment, etc.
  16. Eh. The GOP doesn't really want to get rid of the ACA. They'll have a lot of pissed off constituents who've been lied to for years. They just want to bitch and moan about the ACA and lie to people about it and its imaginary replacement. Edit to add: Thomas is a good GQP soldier. He was able to keep the ACA, while not actually signing on to anything in favor of it--just signing on to a standing argument.
  17. If Springsteen shows up at an event, I think it's more likely it'll be Sea Hear Now in Asbury Park a few weeks later. They already announced both Patti Scialfa and Patti Smith in the lineup. And his Broadway show is over by then.
  18. Roided up asshole is lucky that not only did he not kill the woman driving the van, but any other people on that road. Hell, he turned around and drove the wrong way on the highway to get back to the "accident" he caused. Everyone's lucky the van didn't flip over the median. Protecting and serving.
  19. You obviously don't back the blue. Also, check your meter. Also, for all Johnny Sack's whining about how put upon white men are in this country, I haven't seen anyone mention her speeding, as opposed to black men selling cigarettes or smoking pot or passing a counterfeit bill, all of which are probably safer activities for immediate bystanders than driving 84 MPH.
  20. If she'd followed the law, and been driving under the speed limit, this never would have happened.
  21. Yet you support this covidiot to be the next president. Fuck off.
  22. Camped at Acadia a few years ago. Acadia is gorgeous and definitely worth going to. The nearest town, Bar Harbor, was very tourist trappy. There are other towns nearby with better food/drink. Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound was near there and the lobster. I always thought lobster was overrated meh until I tried it there.
