The gerrymandering will only be worse with proportional allotment of electors. MI, WI, and PA electors would have gone for trump under this system. But agree the House of Reps needs to be increased in size.

Also if she had secret clients, particularly politically connected clients, she's putting the entire firm at risk for conflicts/malpractice. What if the firm represented Biden, Raffensberg, some Georgia political entities, etc.? Hell, at least in theory, Raffensberger could have retained Foley to represent him in the pending lawsuit, and Cleta's engagement by Trump would never have shown up on a conflict check. You can't have secret clients from your law firm.

Here's the lawsuit trump had made up "settlement discussions" over, and which under made up law were privileged.

Stopping point on the way to Russia.- the trump election lawsuit thread of dominance
I'm not sure what you're suggesting. But trump filed many suits and lost nearly all of them, including the suits in Georgia. And even if there was an active suit to "settle," telling the other side to fabricate evidence or you'll go after them isn't in any way shape or form a "settlement discussion." Hell, even if someone somewhere thinks this is a settlement discussion, that doesn't make it better. it's not exactly legal to sue someone and then offer to settle with them if they fabricate evidence. It doesn't matter what litigation was or was not filed---this is illegal. And any attorney involved in this also committed election crimes. And anyone stupid enough to file suit as trump's lawyers said he did, should be disbarred.- the trump election lawsuit thread of dominance
It is way beyond time to start disciplining the lawyers who file this crap.- the trump election lawsuit thread of dominance
Federal charges for Meadows and Trump and probably others are proper. But 45% of the country and every GOP official will find a way to move the goalposts on this too, and nothing will happen. 52 U.S. Code § 20511 - Criminal penalties A person, including an election official, who in any election for Federal office— (1)knowingly and willfully intimidates, threatens, or coerces, or attempts to intimidate, threaten, or coerce, any person for— (A)registering to vote, or voting, or attempting to register or vote; (B)urging or aiding any person to register to vote, to vote, or to attempt to register or vote; or (C)exercising any right under this chapter; or (2)knowingly and willfully deprives, defrauds, or attempts to deprive or defraud the residents of a State of a fair and impartially conducted election process, by— (A)the procurement or submission of voter registration applications that are known by the person to be materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent under the laws of the State in which the election is held; or (B)the procurement, casting, or tabulation of ballots that are known by the person to be materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent under the laws of the State in which the election is held, shall be fined in accordance with title 18 (which fines shall be paid into the general fund of the Treasury, miscellaneous receipts (pursuant to section 3302 of title 31), notwithstanding any other law), or imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both. 350,000 plus dead Americans is less than a percent of the atrocities from Benghazi.- So, am I getting another $3900 check? Should I?
It's not just about "keeping the economy chugging along." Or at least it wouldn't be in any kind of sane society. Hell, just from a purely self interested standpoint, I don't want people to have to choose to go to work sick at a nursing home or the grocery store in order to stave off eviction or feed their kids. Or hell, to still have insurance when they wind up in the ICU in a few more days. We're making nonsense decisions as a country, regardless of whether we give poor people $600 or $2000, although at least the $2000 might actually pay a month or so's rent.- CR: COVID-19 --Political Talk
I’m so sorry, Bolverk.- Why do Republicans in Texas hate Abortion, but embrace and fight to preserve ongoing Child Abuse of the Foster Children in their care?
Because it's not about abortion. It's about controlling and punishing women without economic means.- CR: COVID-19 --Political Talk
My understanding, and I'm hardly a scientist, is that the vaccine doesn't actually prevent the recipient from contracting Covid. Rather it prevents their body from reacting to the Covid infection. And also, therefore, it's very possible that the vaccine recipient could still spread Covid to others.- What are some of the best meals you've ever had?

He wasn't a political appointee. He is Director of WH security. I feel terribly for the WH staff, security, cleaning staff, etc., who were exposed by these fucksticks. Although reading the article, this particular official is a big trump supporter....- the trump election lawsuit thread of dominance
The GOP isn't a political party. It's a criminal enterprise. There may be a few people acting like it's still a political party, such as Romney, but the party leadership is running a criminal enterprise engaged in sedition at this point. There's no coming back from this. They'll either succeed in destroying democracy, maybe not in 2020, but in 2022 or 2024. Or they'll be relegated to the trash heap, and maybe the few seemingly reasonable Republicans, who have all essentially retired from public office can join forces with the Lincoln Project types and the more conservative Dems like Joe Manchin, and form a new conservative party.- Sweet Jawja Special Elections
I'm not sure what combination this is of stupidity or that Republicans are now perpetual whiny victims, and they just don't give a fuck whether their grievances are based in fact and they know their base will never appreciate that they're lying and stupid.- CR: COVID-19 --Political Talk
Yeah, it's not just the mask wearing. I live in the Northeast, in an area that was hit hard during the first wave. And the vast majority of people wear masks. But cases are still skyrocketing again. And based on my friends' timelines, they're just fine with Christmas parties.- the trump election lawsuit thread of dominance
