  1. I think 4 pods is the best way to avoid not playing teams in fucking forever. I hate that about their existing scheduling. With 4 pods of 4 you try for parity by putting two historically strong schools in with 2 historically weaker teams, using common sense geography as much as possible. So you play everyone in your pod, that's 3 games. Then every team has a permanent rival with the other pods. This is another 3 conference games and should make it easy to keep historical rivalries and establish new ones going forward. Lastly, each team plays the other 3 teams in all three other pods on a rotating basis ensuring every team in the league plays every other every 3 years. Nine conference games a year, 6 potential 'rivals' for each team. Decent intra-conference schedule variety each year.
  2. I think they are going to a 9 conference game slate regardless of pods or divisions. Pods sound good at first because you can set it up so that each team plays every other team in the league every two years. 3 years if you add 1 permanent rival in each pod. The problem I have with it is that the degree of difficulty within each pod is going to vary wildly. Because of that I like the idea of the Alabama schools going to the East and Texas/OU/Mizzou going West. Play 2 of the other division's teams each year, and each team plays every other team every 4 years. Problem with this one is that some rivalry games get scrapped and that's not going to sit well with some fans. I don't envy who has to come up with the format and scheduling.
  3. Inception surprises me. No way 8.7 out of 10 people even understand it. Also the Matrix franchise is perhaps the most overrated of all franchises.
  4. Just watched the first one last night. Loved it.
  5. Catch and Kill is pretty good. 6 30 min episodes, 2 out already I think 2 more tonight. It's the Ronan Farrow Weinstein investigation.
  6. https://texassneakers.com/week-zero-2021-a-light-grey-pair-of-texas-pegasus-38s-is-coming-soon/ Nike 2021 Texas Week Zeros. Allegedly. I'm always down for these.

So it's like an F1 version of a power brake launch in a street car? He was just too heavy/early on the throttle or does that happen a lot?

What was the cause of Max's brakes being on fire before the race started?
  9. I am not a Tarantino super fan. I loved Pulp Fiction when it came out and I think it aged fine. Not crazy about any of his other movies though, in fact I think almost all of them are overrated, until this one which I think is hands down his best work. I love everything about it. I have watched it like 6 times. Definitely a top 5 of all time for me. I got the book recently, have not read it.
  10. Lots of choices but I think the worst Strong game was the 50-7 TCU beatdown. That was just so fucked. 30-0 after a quarter. My god. Dude should have been shit canned at half.

Thanks. So it's like a short qualifying race to set the grid for the actual race with some extra points for the top 3? Seems a little redundant but it leads to an additional starting lap which as I said is one of the most exciting things about race weekend, for me personally. I don't know shit about this sport but based on what I do know I think there might be some competition among the top 5-6 but the rest of the field will likely just status quo.
  12. It's obviously a taunt and clearly intended to be a taunt when it's done by an opposing player to our fans or our players. That said, I am in the camp of if you don't like something your opponent is doing on the field, then make them stop.

As someone who only started watching last season, I find the qualifying and the first lap of the actual race to be by far the most exciting parts of the weekend. What is the sprint thing they are doing tomorrow?

    Whatcha reading?

Fast Food Nation. Pretty crazy shit AND it's 20 years out of date. It presents a very high level history of fast food but its really about the consolidation and industrialization of the food supply in America.
  15. Bravo is pretty popular...I'd wager all of the mainstream services like Sling, Hulu, etc. have it. YouTube TV has it.
  16. My wife watches almost all of them. I hate them all, though there have been a few select hotties in the casts over the years. That said, I did start watching Vanderpump Rules, which is essentially a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills spin off, and for a while it was one of my favorite shows, appointment viewing for us. I think its probably going to suck now they booted some people for stupid shit, but I'll be giving it a chance when it comes back.
  17. Animal Kingdom is great fun. It is based on an Australian movie of the same name that I have never seen. Ben Mendelsohn in it and he's always a good watch.
  18. I got mine today, ordered from Amazon. It says it was printed two days ago in Coppell. That's pretty crazy.
  19. I hate it when character names are changed from books to screen. Also hated the casting of Yen and especially Triss.
  20. He used to pimp this on Barking Carnival...just went there looking for the Kindle version and that site is dead as shit. Last post was January.
  21. lol I got offered a Tivo Stream 4K. Still not bad though...completely free they cover shipping and there's no tax. They are fixing to roll out a 4K service for another $20 a month...seems like a terrible deal to me given the lack of 4K content.
  22. Spotlight. Not sure how I managed to not see this for so long but it was great. 2 hours flew by.
