  1. I did this for the last predominantly white Texas week zeros...I think the 2017 ones. Might have been 2018. Anyway, one pair is dirty as hell to the point where I don't wear them and the other is brand new in the box still because I don't want to get them dirty...
  2. https://texassneakers.com/the-week-zero-tradition-continues-with-the-nike-air-zoom-pegasus-37-texas/ Looks like August 20 for $130. I don't think the design is their best work but I will be ordering them anyway.
  3. Watched Marco Polo over the weekend. It was easy to binge but not great. Very interesting setting but I think they took a lot of liberty with historical accuracy.
  4. Business of Drugs is good. 6 part series broken down by drug type, ~40 mins an episode.

    2020 MLB thread

I don't like watching baseball but I am very happy for the MLB to return. Hopefully they can manage any outbreaks well and the other popular team sports leagues can learn lessons from this and the NBA plan next week.
  6. What did you get? I think the most powerful piece of gear I got is the charm that heals you out of combat. You can get it very early in Act 1, its close to the archer guy's first quest location. I grinded all the minor tales I had before closing out Act 1. As soon as I finished Act 1 I got a whole bunch more tales immediately. This is a pretty big game.
  7. Last year's week zero Texas came out on July 22. So yeah they should be releasing pretty soon...I didn't see anything about them though with a casual Google. Usually some of the SB Nation team sites have preview pics a few weeks out.
  8. The game needs a respec mechanic. I have a lot of technique points spent that I don't ever really get anything out of. The Deflection tree overall is great but the last one costing 2 points really sucks. When you terrify dudes they straight sprint away from you full speed never to return. It's funny the first few times but then its annoying because you have to be quick with a bow to get them or you have to get on your horse if you want to run them down.
  9. There is a charm at one of the shrines near the first main area (it is near the fort you take with the first archer story mission) that adds to the parry, perfect parry and perfect dodge windows. Getting this helped me a lot. My favorite technique so far is probably standoff streak and its follow up. I love the standoff mechanic and being able to kill 3 enemies and be full resolve before the melee starts is pretty awesome. Maxing parry tree I also found super helpful. Perfect dodge is better than perfect parry but perfect dodge requires a lot more investment to get to and most of the techniques along the way are meh. The parry tree...pretty much all of them are good. Of the ghost weapons I found Kunai to be the most useful because they are super easy to deploy and stun up to 3 guys. When you get the double damage technique they kill most enemies if they are already wounded.
  10. I played for a couple of hours last night. Just on the default medium setting I am getting my ass killed constantly. The parry window seems tighter than most games that have that mechanic.
  11. I have something like this on an 870. I'd say it reduces felt recoil by at least half. Well worth it IMO. Mine is the Blackhawk SpecOps Gen 2.
  12. Open world action RPG set in 13th century Japan. Releases midnight Friday. Reviews are out as of yesterday, largely positive.

Sorry if this has been asked before...I didn't read through the thread. Are S1/S2 on any streaming service? I have Prime, Netflix and Hulu and they don't have it. I see S3 is on YouTube TV but we'd want to start from the beginning. TIA
  14. What is the thinking behind conference games being safer to play?
  15. That was a cool story. I bet someone could make a good movie out of that.

    The Boys

I have read that S2 has a lot more Black Noir.
  17. I think its a great show. That said I can't dispute a lot of the criticisms over the past 4 pages of this thread. I guess they just bother me a lot less. I wanted to re-watch S1/2 before watching S3 and had put it off, but I watched all 30 over the past month or so including about the last 15 in just two days. I thought S3 was the weakest of the three seasons but I still enjoyed it to the point where I could not help myself from starting the next episode. For some specific criticism, I think they tried to do way too much in the 10 episodes they had to work with. Highlighting this was the last episode which felt ridiculously rushed. Like Marty got some stills to an FBI agent that resulted in US interdiction in Mexico against the rival cartel in a matter of hours? The worst written plot, to me, was by far the Darlene-Ruth-KC Mob triangle. Nonsensical. The show runners could have crowdsourced a more sensible plot from Reddit. I found that one GoT S8 levels of bad. Navarro's character didn't work for me at all. What was the point of rendering Marty and torturing him for a week? lol because he had spyware on his wife's phone? And how can you drop him back down a hole after he fixes your flagged offshore account in seconds? He's clearly worth keeping around just for that. Finally, I don't get all the Ben hate. That actor is going to win every award a TV show supporting actor can win.
  18. How is the PS5 IO twice as fast as the Xbox? I think a lot of people, especially console gamers who have never experienced an SSD in an OEM console, significantly underestimate the overall impact an SSD has on the overall gaming experience.
  19. Timney makes a very nice drop in 10/22 trigger replacement. It is one of the best single stage triggers I have ever pulled. Downside is that it costs almost as much as the rifle.
  20. I read that HBO Max has all the Bachelor and Bachelorette seasons in its library. Can anyone with HBO Max confirm? What about BIP?
  21. Yeah the NBA is shitting the bed IMO. Getting restarted way too slowly and going too deep into football season. Then, what are they going to do about next season? The two month shift start at Christmas end in early August is a great idea to further avoid football...but how are they going to squeeze the off season, the draft and training camp into the space between October 12 and December 25?
  22. Rotten is pretty good. Six in the first season and that's all I've watched. Each episode tackles a specific food or produce industry and then proceeds to get into one or more issues affecting it. Spoiler alert: China is fucking everyone on yet another front: Narrator sounds like a poor man's Rob Lowe. You can pick any one of the six and watch it, if you like it you'll like the rest if you don't, you won't.
  23. Do people consider the Spurs 99 title legitimate? The strike shortened (or lockout, whatever happened) 50 game-ish season after Jordan retired for the 2nd time and the Bulls were broken up? I bet most people don't even remember or know that about it. This is definitely different from that but a title is a title and all the teams got 60+ games in during the regular season up to this point, which was more than that 99 season. I think under the current circumstances the regular 1-8 conference seeding makes the most sense here with 3-5 regular season games for a week or two ahead of the playoffs. As for where to play them, I think they are overthinking it. The Vegas or Orlando scenarios are interesting but they could probably just play them in the normal arenas with some capacity adjustments. The NBA pushing back the season start to Christmas is long overdue. If I am running a pro sports league the last one I want to compete with is the NFL. June and July are terrible sports months currently, starting league play at Christmas makes them yours.
  24. I look at it by conference. To me, there is zero chance the SEC does not play. I can't see any scenario they aren't playing short of multiple dead players, which seems unlikely. Big 12 will also play. Probably with more caveats than the SEC, ie less fans in the stands. Big 10 would be next, I am pretty sure they play but maybe with no fans. ACC I don't have a read on, Clemson will find a way though I am sure. Pac 12 is the one that I worry about. I think there is a 50/50 shot they don't play at all mostly due to local politics.
  25. I think Outer Banks is fucking great. Surprisingly so. It seemed like it would be too 'young adult' for me and the main plot is a little hokey. All the other stuff really works though. The high school clique dynamic is spot on and the kids are depicted accurately as drinking drugging fighting and trying to get laid in a way that very much reminds me of my own experience, minus the occasional gun. The girl that plays Sarah Cameron is an absolute smoke show.
