This poll highlights how SEC bias and preseason rankings combine to fuck the other P5 conferences. SEC having 5 of the top 10 is crazy and because of the conference's weak scheduling the bias never gets baked out even by the end of the year. Florida Auburn and Georgia are all over rated because of their preseason SEC boost. Florida and Auburn have Ls coming so they will drop some, but not as much as they should because SEC SEC SEC. To me the most likely scenario for the SEC is as follows: Bama wins out. Georgia loses to Bama. So 12-0, 11-1, 11-1. This is a problem for the playoff and the other P5 conferences. If you have LSU over Bama in their regular season contest it could still shake out LSU 12-0 the other two 11-1. Georgia's schedule is a joke, they're not losing outside of the CCG unless Auburn plays with their hair on fire for the rivalry game. It will be interesting to see how much this poll informs the committee's first rankings.
  2. The Blake stuff irritated the hell out of me all season long. He did what guys do when girls let them. Then he got ripped last night for releasing texts that showed he didn't have some kind of master plan to take advantage. Absurd. Feelings over facts and nothing matters, really, except where your demographic sits on the 'privilege' chart.
  3. I cant believe how many tears there are. Its fucking embarrassing, especially from the dudes. Also when they made Jordan and bigger-douche bag leave for their 'fight'...el oh el. People felt unsafe? Come the fuck on. And yeah Clay, my god. How was this dude at an NFL camp? This show needs more alcohol (it can't be my imagination that previous seasons had more scenes with obviously drunk people, can it?) and more fighting, not less. Like if its the girls' week to hand out roses you can beat another dude's ass to get a free rose. I badly wanted to see Derek beat the shit out of JPJ.
  4. He has CTE. He's made a bunch of really bad decisions on and off the field over the past two years or so. Someone will pick him up for sure though. I'd say Bucs Browns or Pats.
  5. Signs were pretty weak today. Crowd was very high energy though. Best sign I saw said something like 'We won't need 7 OTs'
  6. Also Brian Kelly is just a complete fucking piece of human shit. So that makes it easy to hate them regardless of history.
  7. I hate ND. Louisville looks surprisingly competitive early.
  8. Absolutely agree. The scheduling loopholes they exploit need to be closed by the CFP. There needs to be scheduling requirements across the P5 in order to be eligible for a CFP selection. 8 conference games instead of 9 and multiple FCS teams on the schedule that are functionally simultaneously bye weeks and game reps for depth.
  9. I think the SEC West being the best division in FBS and the SEC as a whole being overrated can both be true. I think divisions are an outdated construct at this point. SEC East is easy mode path to their title game. Flip UGA into the West for LSU and they likely aren't getting any SEC title game appearances, while LSU all of sudden is. Missouri has two title appearances by virtue of being placed in the East and not the West. Same with the weak division in the Big 10. Northwestern doesn't sniff the title game if they are in the tough division. This shit affects the NFL playoffs every year too and in the NBA the West has been the dominant conference (conferences sitting in for divisions here) for 20 years, resulting in a much easier path to the Finals for the East. Hyperbole. My point is, Bama's last 10 years have been an incredible run in the most competitive era of the sport and the rest of the SEC is riding their achievement in the form of elevated rankings, perception, TV ratings, NFL draft picks and live rights contract money.
  10. Came here to post this. The delusion extends to all things ag, even their players. It's especially hilarious coming off the performance Thursday. The Bobcats were getting pressure fairly regularly against an Oline that looked out of sync. Clemson is likely going to knock Mond out of the game Saturday.
  11. Hopefully this is the year that the media figures out that the SEC is Bama and the 13 dwarves. Per segment on SVP, 3 double digit SEC favorites lost this week, first time that has happened in over 20 years. The East is laughably bad and Georgia is going to sleep walk into their title game.
  12. First season I saw of this was the one with Chad the steroid shooting, lunchmeat face stuffing, high end realtor from Ok...that season was pretty good. All of them since then, including all of the regular bachelors and bachelorettes, have been much less watchable.

The way that year worked out convinced me the committee was fraudulent. TCU lost to Baylor on the road and they barely lost. If that game was replayed 100 times from the 4th quarter on I don't know how many times Baylor wins it...maybe just the one time. TCU was up 21 with 11 and change left in the game...Baylor had a later road loss at WV that was more convincing. TCU looked like the better team that season by a convincing margin to me and the bowl game results cemented that unless Baylor and Ole Miss just didn't want to be there... Then Ohio State and Baylor jump TCU in the final rankings. Ohio State mainly because Wisconsin absolutely went fetal position in the Big 10 CCG but Baylor why? Because of a head to head result that had happened two months ago? This result lead the Big 12 to the short sighted decision to have a CCG despite being the only P5 conference whose teams play each other every year. The thinking being that had Baylor and TCU played each other in a CCG the winner would have gotten in over Ohio State...but I doubt that. Texas or OU would have gotten in over Ohio State, probably. TCU or Baylor? I think the committee would have gone with Ohio State.
  14. Yeah it's a shame where football has gone in 20 years. Go back and watch some of his finest work in college and listen to what the announcers have to say. When he got flagged for blasting Leland and 'taunting' him one of them shouts something like 'Somebody shoot the ref!". He had another one where, I think it was Mark Jones calling the game, he destroyed someone and the announcer goes "When he wakes up his clothes will be out of style!" Westbrook was savage. Foster's hit on Amon Ra where his mouthpiece went flying, very much reminded me of Westbrook.
  15. I don't understand why they aren't selling the Nike sunglasses Herman wears at his pressers with the burnt orange swoosh and tips. They ought to be selling everything.
  16. lol a glock 19 with a 30 round mag in it is taller than it is long. I can't fathom someone thinking stuffing it down your pants with a round in the chamber is a good choice.
  17. For me, I can't believe how long I waited to do it. YouTubeTV and PS Vue have both gone up but either one of those today ($55-60) paired with an internet connection ($70) are still like $65 less a month than I was paying for Cable+Internet+2 DVRs ($195) from Spectrum. When I pulled the trigger I had the savings figured at $950 a year because the opening YouTube rate was like $35/month after tax and they let you keep that rate through their first price increase.
  18. I also thought he looked like Bradley Cooper. To the point where I thought they could be blood relatives.
  19. The Boys is the best thing I have seen in a while. Completely over the top with seemingly nothing off limits in terms of where they take the characters and story. I love the casting but especially Karl Urban and the dude playing Homelander. Must watch TV IMO and I am psyched that it already got renewed for a second season.
  20. I got the shoes on Thursday and wore them pretty much all weekend. I vary between size 12 to 13 and I got these in 12.5 and they fit great. I've got the last 4 years of Texas Week Zero and I would rank them as follows 2018 V8 | Best ones and they stay pretty clean. https://www.burntorangenation.com/2018/8/6/17658970/texas-longhorns-week-zero-shoe-release-august-2018 2016 V6 | Pretty unique shoe IMO https://www.sneakerfiles.com/nike-train-speed-4-week-zero-college-collection/ 2017 V7 | These look great but are mostly white and they get dingy quick with any kind of regular wear. https://www.burntorangenation.com/2017/8/4/16098454/texas-longhorns-week-zero-shoes-2017-free-trainer-v7 2019 V9 | So yeah I like them the least of the four that I have but still would buy again. If you stay on top of it you can usually get the themed Week Zero for a significant discount by Spring of the following year. The 2018 version sold out everywhere pretty fast and they were gone by January except for Ebay and tiny sizes.
  21. Yeah. I don't think those are the week zero shoes, don't see any press about week zero 2019 yet. Either way I am a sucker for Texas themed sneakers and so I was compelled to buy a pair.
  22. Agree. Last year's Week Zero were the best of them. I liked the ones from 2017 a lot too but yeah they became my gym only shoes and they are fairly gnarly being almost two years old. This guy purports to have pics of the ones for this year. They are pretty different if the info is accurate. https://texassneakers.com/2019/05/26/texas-longhorns-pegasus-36-leaks-for-week-zero-2019/
