I doubt ESPN's left leaning bias had anything to do with this decision but as a decision, its a hilariously bad one. The content in the OP, when I read it, I thought for sure it was from a parody account or something, as in not real. ESPN just can not stop shooting themselves in the foot. Jason Witten is objectively terrible at the job they are paying him to do. No one likes him. Cowboys and Vols fans probably mute him. Why on Earth would anyone at ESPN think it would be a good job to have a feed of the CFP title game with him on it? Especially in replacement to probably the most popular alternative CFP feed there was? Cable TV as a bundled service is bleeding out. The canary in that particular coal mine died about a year ago. That is how ESPN makes money so they're fucked. Not to mention they overpaid for pretty much every live rights package they have, in some cases incredibly so. Disney is going to spin ESPN off for pennies on the dollar at some point. My guess would be Amazon or Netflix buys them.

This. It took me forever to get a 3 star Badger pelt. Transition from Chapter 4 to 5 and then through 5 back to the mainland is the weakest part of the game IMO.

What a great couple of days of football. I don't watch a lot of high school, usually just the title games and the two all star games. Whittington in the Cuero game was the most dominant performance I have seen in my life. He took over the game. Literally took it over. He scored from the wildcat their first offensive snap of the game but then they went away from that a little bit. Cuero was down 21-7 and the Cuero coaching staff did something Herman should take note of. They quit what was not working and ran Whittington in the wild cat for 90% of the offensive snaps. They realized they had the best athlete in the stadium, probably the best player in Texas, and they said fuck it give the ball to 3 every play and let him win this for us. Offensive and Defensive MVP of the game. He had 3 TDs called back or overruled via replay and he scored again on the subsequent play all 3 times. It was fucking incredible. If you have not watched this game, you really should try and catch a replay or hit it on YouTube Some highlights Full game (shitty stream quality, catching it on FSSW would be ideal) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFmTGkOO7CM Other thoughts: Small sample size but I don't get the hype behind Evans. He did not look like the best player on the field, not even close, let alone the best RB in the state. To me, Aledo's McClellan is clearly better. I've seen him beast in 3 straight title games. I thought the North Shore QB and 19 were pretty impressive. Hell of an ending.

#6 looked pretty decent to me, just completely over shadowed by our guy. 3 star committed to Army apparently, Kieran Grant.
-
40 year old record. That's nuts.
-
Fifth star has to be coming back at this point right?
-
I think you can only see that on corpses small enough to pick up. Like anything you can skin or pickup to stow whole on the horse, will show you the quality of the corpse when you get in range and the context menu pops up in the lower right.
-
Each animal has a recommended weapon to use to kill it. Most bigger animals you would need to use the rifle and be sure to headshot it. The trinket only makes it so you see more 3 star pelts. You still have to kill the animal properly. Without the trinket, to get a perfect pelt 3 things have to occur. 1) The animal has to be 3 star, 2) you have to kill it with the ideal weapon (in some cases there are multiple ideal weapons), and 3) you have to get a fatal hit on the first shot. With the trinket, you can mess up either 2 or 3 and still get a perfect pelt. You will know the trinket kicked in when you see the animal is now a 2 star corpse but the pelt/skin you harvest comes back perfect.

His NFL comp is Travis Kelce. He's going to be very good.

Yeah the crafting needed some more QA. It definitely is not explained well in game. Also, the Trapper and the Fence share access to materials globally...but Pearson has a separate inventory. This makes something already tedious, even more tedious. I will say that going for the Legends of the East satchel via Pearson is 100% worth it. This satchel lets you carry 99 of everything that stacks aside from ammo and things like dynamite. Watch a video on it that details what you need to kill and the ideal weapon/ammo for each kill. Also, perfect alligator skin to the Trapper makes a really nice saddle and its super easy to do if you have been to St Denis. Tons of gators right outside the city, easy to find a 3 star and easy to head shot a gator with a rifle as they pretty much don't move ever unless you get close to them. Trapper in town, pick the saddle up at the stable.

Big 10 too stupid to understand the CCG rules they wrote
Hozz replied to ButtFumble's topic in Football
CCGs are stupid and they can just as easily screw a conference out of a CFP spot as they can solidify one. Get rid of them and go to an 8 team playoff. Season does not get any longer that way. Also, get rid of divisions. With SEC soft scheduling, each team only plays their non-rival in the other division once every six years. Absurd. It's how we are playing Georgia before aggie. The P5 conferences should all have to play 9 conference games and a team should have to play 11 FBS games to be eligible for playoff consideration. -
It's a good idea to manually save after accomplishing anything meaningful. This has saved me a lot of time.
-
I don't like the idea of conference autobids because some teams have much easier roads to winning their conference due to scheduling and what division they are or arent in. If they ever go to autobids they need to first get rid of divisions and CCGs and make sure everyone eligible is playing the same number of conference games and FBS opponents first. Also, I thought going into the year Clemson would be the second best team. I don't now. The ACC is terrible and the best team they have played seems likely to have been aggy and they were not impressive. They almost lost to Syracuse. I think whoever they get in the first round, seems like ND at this point, is going to beat them. I think we see Bama-an ohio state university and Clemson-ND, giving us a rematch of the BCS snoozefest that featured an imaginary girlfriend. And it will be almost as one sided as that game.

When you get the text alert that you have entered the territory for a Legendary animal. Hop off your horse or hitch him up somewhere nearby and then hop off. If you are lucky you will see a white question mark on your mini map. Go to it and there will be an option to inspect it. Doing that should give you a tracking pop up to follow whatever Legendary animal it is. You will be lead to another question mark on your mini map and need to inspect it as well. Doing that gets the tracking again, leading to a third question mark. At this question mark, the animal you are hunting should be in visual range. Usually within your current field of vision even if it is a ways off. If you have issues during any of this, go into the eagle eye mode and look for gold sparkly stuff, those are the question marks, or red/blue tracking lines, those are what you are following in normal view. I did not kill the Legendary Bear during the story mission. Went back after him and blasted him with a dynamite arrow. This was not a good choice as the corpse appeared fine but I did not get a skin option. Reloaded a save and the bear killed the shit out of me. Now I can't find him. I also spent a ton of time in the bayou near St Denis looking for the gator. I shot many, many gators and never found him. Apparently you have to encounter him in a story mission before you can hunt him. I am early in Chapter three.

The CFP is way better than the BCS, the committee rankings seem to be worse than the BCS formula...but not by much and maybe not in a meaningful way. I am very surprised an ohio state university did not jump ou. Shocked really. Yes they have a bad loss but it was a night game on the road. And they just destroyed a team the committee still thinks is top 10 (Michigan at 7 after that performance...how?). I don't understand it. Florida and LSU still being top 10 is a joke. The whole thing reeks of SEC bias and like someone said up thread, conferences that take it easy via scheduling get rewarded for it so why change? Alabama and ND are in. Georgia and Clemson control their own destiny for the final 2 spots. OU gets in if we get chalk results this week. An ohio state university obviously needs ou to lose and them to win to get in. If 4-5-6 lose then I am pretty sure Georgia gets in if they keep it within 3 scores to Alabama. But, Alabama is going to destroy everyone. This is the most competitive the sport has ever been and they are suffocating every team they play, first half v Citadel being the extreme outlier. Crazy stat I heard on a pod, only one other team ever has gone 12-0 with winning every game by 22+...the 1888 Yale Bulldogs went 13-0 beating an undefeated Princeton team 10-0 in their final game. Assuming they beat Georgia by more than 11 (spoiler: they will), they will be the first team to go 13-0 with an 11+ point margin of victory in all of those wins. Anyway, 8 team playoff is the way to go. Get rid of divisions (SEC teams play the opposing division teams outside of their one cross division rival once every 6 years...) and get rid of CCGs, which are just money grabs that can only hurt the best team in the conference most years, like this one. Make it to where you have to play 9 conference games and 11 FBS games to qualify. This fixes a lot of shit. Get rid of the committee and use some kind of objective formula so we won't have final week leap frogging explained by moving goal posts.

I am surprised they never ported the first one to PC, it would have done well IMO. I think this one is being ported for sure. Unrelated, but there was a spot a little bit north of the main St Denis downtown area where 1-2 horses would spawn behind 3 houses. The horses could be any horse in the game, the 3 Arabians, all the rare horses, etc. You could ride through the area and if there was not a horse you wanted there, just quit and reload or ride far enough away and come back and the horses would respawn differently. See something you want? Slap your saddle on it and done. Sometimes you get charged with horse theft, sometime you don't. I got the gray arabian this way. The update Tuesday patched this out and now it only spawns common horses like Morgans. There is still a way to get great horses cheap though, and that is get a $3-400 bounty and kill the bounty hunters and take their horses. Bounty hunters ride good horses. I appreciate the depth of hunting/crafting and the scope of how many animals there are but man, its really kind of a pain in the ass to get perfect whatevers when you are looking for something specific. Ironically the Legendary animals are way easier than getting a perfect skin/pelt because you don't have to worry about shooting them in the wrong place with a sub-optimal weapon. Most of them I can find and kill within 5 minutes of entering their territory. The only trouble I have had was the fox. I somehow just wounded him with my shot and he ran off. Lost sight of him and had to track him again, all the old tracks were still around and it was a huge mess. Took me like 20-30 mins to find him again. I am only in Chapter 3 and am finding the meta elements more fun than actual missions. I ran into those Murfree Brood dudes...lol. Super fun to kill them.

Rankings tomorrow will be interesting. I think they are going to move Ohio State up ahead of OU.

Over turning the game ending INT and changing the play to a sack despite no clear video showing Mond with his knee down possessing the fumble. The game clock liberties and illegal formation on the spike before the end of regulation. The blown call and lack of a review on the catch and fumble with a clear recovery that was ruled INC. This is the most egregious to me. How that was called incomplete in real time, no fucking idea. Calling DPI from behind the play on an uncatchable football in the 7th OT and following that up with an unsportsmanlike. Those are the four I had in mind, I imagine there were others but I had a lot to drink and went to bed shortly after this game ended and have not watched any replays or highlights.
-
Best case, this is like 4 blown calls all favoring the home team from 30 seconds of regulation through 7 OTs. How is this not more of a story? This game comes close to making a mockery of the sport and certainly calls into question, either via corruption or rank incompetence, the SEC as a conference. Pat Forde was on Dan Patrick Show this morning and this game did not come up in the conversation.
-
Yeah that play was awesome. As good as Sterns is, especially early, I think Foster has more upside. He is the type of player you can build a defense around and I can see him moving to linebacker next year.
-
Easy one for me, Colt all the way. Grew up in Houston as an Oilers fan, never understood why so many people in Houston rooted for Dallas and this made me hate them at an early age.
-
This is a football board right? It seems like there are a lot of people here who don't like football. Football isn't going anywhere. The NFL is the most popular professional sports league in America and FBS is getting more and more popular. For those that think this kind of hit has no place in the sport or football is too violent...how do you process boxing or MMA? Male humans enjoy fighting for sport and always have. And always will.
-
This. The field goal thing...it was close and not easy to see if it was good or not in real time but the fucking refs are there to look at too and they are signaling it not good... The other call that stood out to me was the Butler play that was called a catch and you could see very clearly his first foot down was on part of the sideline and that the call was going to be reversed. Clear to everyone but the LHN guys. Even though the radio call was a play ahead of my LHN stream, I went with Craig Way at some point in the 4th.
-
I feel like he is playing his way into the first round over the past 4 games or so. He makes plays. It's an over used cliche, but in this case 100% applies, he is a game changer. Frankly we need to be a little more creative in getting him the ball, I'd like to see him get at least 15 targets+touches a game. I agree that who is QB matters a lot when it comes to what you get out of the position, but there are definitely guys in the NFL who are great without a good QB. Fitzgerald comes to mind. Guy is 2nd all time now in yardage and his best QB was probably Carson Palmer. All that said, if I'm an NFL GM the only positions on my team that get 2nd contracts are QB/OL/DL. Get an elite QB and protect him, control the line of scrimmage and you can plug in the rest year in, year out.

The bounty/wanted system seriously sucks. Its very easy to get a bounty on accident not even trying to do anything that would get you in trouble with the law. It's also very buggy where you can get bounties put on you in the middle of nowhere where there are literally no witnesses. Finally, I got a HUGE bounty put on me during a chapter 2 story mission and the game did not inform me of this during the actual mission. I rolled into a post office later and discovered it, ~$300ish.
