  1. I think LJH gets drafted higher than CJ and also has a better NFL career. I don't think CJ is going to be a bust or anything but LJH is a player that a good OC can deploy in many different looks to exploit a mismatch. He's a black Travis Kelce.
  2. When they have neutral site games the designated home team has to have their stadium ready to host the game in the event that the neutral site has issues, like this. But yeah, from the news coverage it seems like LA is not an ideal replacement.
  3. They have the top 4 right. But man the rest of the list is a shit show IMO. How could anyone put OU 6 watching their defense week in and week out? BC is on the list after getting shut out in a night game at home, outside of a kick return score? After Alabama and Georgia, every SEC team on the list is over rated. These people claim to watch the games and rank teams week to week but its clear they don't. LSU is living off its Georgia upset where Georgia beat themselves by abandoning the run. Also, for a four team bracket, ranking 25 deep seems like a waste of time. It seems like they just picked 25 to mirror the AP poll. I think they should cut it down to 10-15. Eight team format can't get here soon enough.
  4. ISU guy Hakeem Butler probably also in the mix for All Big 12. 36-816-8 in 9 games so far.
  5. Off topic but, what a great dude and great teammate.
  6. It seems like it would be in the best interest of both parties in the contract to agree to have it simulcast on one of the other channels as well. Looking at http://www.gameviewingguide.com/ it looks like that timeslot is free on ESPN News. I'm sure not everyone gets that but its likely carried by more packages than LHN. I'm on YouTube TV so no LHN for me. For the Spring game I did that PSVue 1 week free thing. For the early season game on LHN I borrowed a buddies Spectrum account who was at the game, and streamed it. I guess I will have to go that route again.

    Sam Ehlinger

He outplayed both Murray and Grier as well, both of those guys on the list. Hopefully this fuels him in 2019 and 2020.
  8. https://www.forbes.com/sites/kevinmurnane/2018/11/04/red-dead-redemption-ii-has-a-deadly-bug-thats-easy-to-trigger-heres-how-to-avoid-it/#645dd7b3d2ce This sucks and happened to me. I did not have a manual save and so I restarted.
  9. Has Bama trailed at any point this year? If so, I'd like to see the total time. Hell, what is the total time they have even been tied. They have trailed for like 70 seconds this season. Ole Miss scored on them their first play. Bama scored 70 seconds later and shut them out from there winning 62-7. I'm not really sure what anyone that thinks Clemson (or any other team for that matter) can hang with these guys is watching. Because its not what I am watching. This is by far the best college team I have ever seen simply because of Tua. They are stacked everywhere, like always, and they added an all timer at QB which Saban has never had. If Tua stays healthy, everyone else is playing for 2nd and will be next year too.

    UCF vs Temple

UCF looked bad to me and this is not the year we'll need to worry about a G5 team being one of the 4 best teams at the end of the season. Still think we need 8, but not a system where one of the 8 spots is slotted to the best G5 team. I'd go 8 and just go back to the BCS formula to pick those 8. The committee seems too easily biased/swayed by a single voice. As an example the first rankings have middling ACC teams stuffing the bottom of the rankings...why? I mean it doesn't much matter but its troubling there are so many of them clustered together like that. Also, I think its pretty clear they have SEC weighted too high. LSU does not look better than Michigan or ND to me. I realize this problem corrects itself Saturday, but still. Lastly...Kentucky at 9? Are you fucking kidding me? For a group who is supposed to 'watch the games' they clearly have not been.
  11. Social media is the bane of western civilization. Acho should not have used the term trash. That is unprofessional and especially unnecessary considering he played for Texas. Herman's commented on Boyd's side of this deal today and I liked what he had to say. Basically, best way to silence a critic is to keep your mouth shut and play better.
  12. I had a PS4. I got the PS4 Pro God of War bundle. Played GOW on the PS4 and the PS4 Pro and I honestly could not tell much of a difference. My eyes are shitty and I have a cheap TCL 4k so take that FWIW. I put an SSD in the PS4 Pro and that cut the load times by like 25-30%, definitely worth it to me. edit: I gave the PS4 to a good friend's kid and made his year.
  13. I have an A300 in wood. Love it.
  14. Never heard of Ganzo before this thread. Not a huge knife guy, just carried a random folder in my pocket for utility's sake. Most recently I had a Cold Steel Pro Lite Tanto that I lost over the course of a drunken Saturday. Replaced it with a G720. Its a lot heavier and a little bigger, but man it came sharp as a razor out of the box and it is really well made. For $20ish, I was impressed enough to buy some other Ganzo models just because.
  15. I vote for Charissa Thompson on loan from Fox.
  16. Guy looks like he watches football for the tight pants. NTTAWWT
  17. This play stood out to me as well. It was great, complementary team defense. Locke actually was the one who made the tackle IMO, you can see him about to get him around the waist in the pic. But he was only able to catch up because Boyd and Jones were containing Hurd to the sideline. If Locke was alone, Hurd turns up field earlier and roasts him. If its just Boyd I think Hurd gets the corner. It's possible Jones could have done this on his own just because he occasionally takes a perfect angle and has very good closing speed. The way it unfolded in real time though was fun to watch. Especially since Hurd is an ugly douchebag type player.
  18. This is some baseball level nerd shit. I don't know how it works but when you beat #6 and they stay put while you drop 8 spots, that is clearly retarded. 538 should hire the S&P+ guy, he'd fit right in.
  19. I hated the BCS. It was a lame half measure. The current playoff is better than the BCS but still inadequate. The very first year convinced me of this. TCU was absolutely in the conversation with the 4 teams that made it and they were actually 6th in the standings behind Baylor because of a road head to head coin flip type game. I'd be ok with 16, but I think 8 is the way to go. First, establish some scheduling minimums for the P5 schools to qualify for an automatic berth. Something like schools must play 9 conference games and at least 11 FBS games before conference champs get an automatic berth. This ends the SEC scheduling charade or it forces them to contend for limited committee selected at large slots. ACC only plays 8 conference games as well. So you might only have 3 automatic bids the first few years if those conferences don't meet the requirements, but eventually they would fall in line. I think this (having 5/8 being automatic slots) also incentivizes ND to join a P5 conference which I think would be good overall. Then use the committee to fill the at large slots and to seed the teams. Make the first round of the playoff home games for top 4 seeds, use the current bowl rotation for the last 3 games. I am not in favor of a set aside for the best G5 school. Most years this would screw a more deserving team and the G5 team would get blasted in a tune-up game by the 1 seed. UCF will finish top 8 this year if they stay undefeated so the G5 problem works itself out if the G5 team is good enough and the playoff field is expanded.
  20. It seems like the trend is leave and get paid. I think you have to grow up wanting to be a Longhorn to stay for 4 years and delay a huge payday. It probably helps if you come from money and a two parent home as well, not sure what LJH's situation there is. He's going to crush it in the NFL. He reminds me of Travis Kelce. Long freak athlete who can line up anywhere. Able to bully defenders or make them miss.

    Texas WRs

LJH should be a first round pick. Scouts might be sleeping on him now but if he declares he's guaranteed a combine invite because he is a freak athlete with crazy measurables. The scouts will eventually catch up. He reminds me of Travis Kelce. Don't let his whiteness fool you, Kelce is a freak athlete as well and KC uses him as more of a slot than a traditional hand on the ground tight end. CJ could leave early and get picked for sure. I don't think he will go first round but it would not shock me if he continues to play great and gets screen time in a conference championship and bowl game.

    Sam Ehlinger

His performance today was awesome. He played great last year as a freshman in this game, but this was obviously even more impressive. Gus Johnson said something on the call yesterday like 'This kid was born to be a Texas quarterback' and they showed some home video footage of Sam as a 2-3 year old throwing a football at his dad saying 'I'm Chris Simms!' as his off camera mom narrated. They also showed the black and white twitter pick of Sam doing the horns up as a 4 year old that I am sure everyone has seen. It was amazing and his life has kind of been like a movie script to this point except the movie would have him with a different name (Colt McCoy sounds right). Anyway. He outplayed Murray in a game that non-partisan fans would likely name one of the greatest versions of a contest held 113 times. He is a Longhorn legend at this point and he's the guy for the next two of these. He is tough. He is a leader. He flashes at times, the throw to CJ on the first drive on the sidelines while not perfect, was an NFL type of throw in that it thrown perfectly secure in that CJ was going to get it or it was going to be incomplete. A very low risk/high reward type of throw. The ball to Tre for his TD was pretty nice too. And then more than anything, and the difference between the two QBs, was no turnovers. Again. Him setting the record for most passed without a pick by a UT QB...I've always been a fan but even I'll have to admit that Sam breaking and extending that record is...improbable. I can't wait to see how much better he gets.
  23. Herman's post-game locker room speech was on YouTube for a while but has since been pulled. Anyone see it or have another link? One of the quotes from it that I saw was "...those motherfuckers have to get on a bus and drive back to Norman, Oklahoma..."
