  1. I was kicked out of the Harvard Club as a teenager while having dinner with my parents and some family friends that went to their divinity school because I wasn't wearing nice enough shoes. Why not just boot somebody on the way in?
  2. Go burn down the police station, not your own neighborhood.
  3. Watched the video. All I heard was Hoody Hoo! That’s the code for them killas!
  4. I work at an aisd school. Trying to act like the police of the well posted “keep your dog on a fucking leash” signs is quite a beating. I would gladly take cops writing these fools tickets over trying to bust people driving 70 in a 65. Their reactions to a polite request to keep their dog on a leash is typically world war 3.
  5. Man, this is so true. Not saying that white men don’t have their own entitlement issues, but white women are on another level. “Safety” is the white woman’s version of an easy button. Just say you are/were concerned about safety and you get to excuse any ridiculous behavior. Its very similar to the situation with cops being caught abusing people more often now that everybody they interact with has a video camera in their pocket. It’s been this way forever but without much proof. No telling what Central Park Karen’s story would have been if she didn’t know she was being recorded.
  6. What do you mean darkhorse?? Kidding, she is my favorite followed by kamala.
  7. Thanks, this is the information I was looking for earlier. Makes sense.
  8. I’ll have to check out redbubble. Uploaded to teespring today, which was really easy. It’s not searchable yet and I have read that you have to see a few on your own first to get your trust rating up. Anybody ever tried them?
  9. In times of crisis, certain people feel that it’s important to stick by their leader. Almost like a wartime president. But then trump started to downplay the “war” and things went right back to normal in the polls. Im also worried that people are not admitting they will vote for trump to pollsters. I know people that say they are undecided right now that will 100% vote for trump. They will wait for one election time issue to hold against biden and say they hate trump but couldn’t vote for a guy that is _______. Probably cognitive decline this time but they would find something no matter what. These people piss me off more than the loud MAGA crowd. They want all the hatred and vitriol but are too chicken shit to take any of the blowback.
  10. Really interesting timing on this thread because I just posted my first t-shirt design on teepublic today. The idea is that you create a lot of designs using a program or by hiring a cheap designer on fiverr. Like 5 to 10 dollars cheap. Then you upload those designs on all the sites that drop ship, tag them based on category, and wait for the money to come in. They all print, drop ship, and send you a cut of the money. I have no idea if I will make any money at all, but the idea that your designs can sit there forever with the potential to sell intrigues me.
  11. I’m all for mail voting. How do they prevent people from mailing in a ballot then showing up to vote in person? I’m sure there are creative ways..
  12. I think the concern is that they are filthy little carriers.
  13. I still think that we can do big things. We are a patient in the ER. We need a heart transplant and multiple other procedures in order to live a long life. But right now, we need treatment for the gunshot wound to our head. Democrats are seeing the present situation as a crisis that must be dealt with before moving on and thinking about other things. Once trump is out of office, liberals will be more willing to entertain progressive ideas.
  14. My book still has trump as the favorite at -140. Crazy to see that number stay so stable with these polls coming out.
  15. Trump is giving billions of our grandkids tax money to corporations with virtually no plan to ensure that it doesn’t end up in the pockets of those in the c suite. Seems like a good message to be hitting on right now.
  16. In 2012 Obama won Florida by less than 1%. Didn’t realize it was so close until I just looked.
  17. The illusion that they are taking a well thought out, measured approach is important to the fraud. Talked to a physician’s assistant yesterday who works in Austin. She’s seeing a steady stream of covid cases at her practice and seemed pretty demoralized.
  18. I will never mentally count Florida as anything other than a loss. If it goes our way, we were probably going to win anyway.
  19. When was the last time that an above average hurricane season was not predicted. Seems like they say that every year.
  20. We will probably never know but I think there will be pressure from above to classify deaths as something other than covid.
  21. I read this post in the voice of the guy who sits behind me at football games. He always wants to go for it on 4th down no matter the situation. Down 2, easy FG to take the lead? Nope, by god, we should go for the touchdown. If we can’t get it, we don’t deserve to win anyway. Sometimes you just have to play the hand you are dealt. And we, as a country, were dealt a 7-2 off suit of dotard death cultists. We can still win the hand, but it’s going to take some strategic maneuvering. Go all in before the flop and our bluff gets called every time. Ill respond more later about where bridges can be built, and progressives should be a large part of that equation. I want a big Democratic tent that is guided by liberal ideals. The vast majority of non-voters agree with many of these ideals and need to be a part of the long term coalition that we build. But, I don’t want people that aren’t far left on every policy position run out of the tent being vilified as right wing monsters. That does happen now.
  22. The ability to coalition build is what’s needed. Many of the progressive left are idealists to the point that they alienate even those that are left of center. If there has been no other lesson learned from the transition from obama to trump it is that elections have consequences. Trump isn’t the fault of progressives, but democrats inability to work together to build a winning coalition that both excites the base and is rooted in the practical realities of what it takes to win elections. We can’t want everything all at once, which is hard for some people to accept. The reality is that we share this country with a shitload of trumpkins and people who are sympathetic enough to him to stay home instead of voting for a democrat. There is no quick fix and you can’t implement progressive policies until you start winning elections. Drop the purity tests. Find issues that all democrats can agree on. Mobilize voters and fundraise. Win elections far and wide, turning red states blue. Keep shifting the narrative to the left over time as demographics change.
