  1. The biggest problem for kamala is having to walk back calling Biden a racist. In every other way she is the right pick. AND it’s not like her comments about racism are going to shift people to trump. I say go with her because nobody else will check as many boxes.
  2. Education is/was real hot and was driving a lot of their numbers during the transition to learning at home. It’s about to get frigid cold though. My district already has frozen just about all types of spending outside of salaries/utilities and has a hiring freeze.
  3. The odds from my gambling site have trump overall -150 and -500 for Texas. If you really believe he will lose Texas then go get rich betting Biden.
  4. Strange. My neighbor has worked for dell since damn near the beginning and he said he’s busy as hell. Very strong demand for a lot of their products with people shifting to work from home.
  5. I’ll just leave this here so that everybody can remember how it goes down when black teens are involved instead.
  6. I used to laugh at stuff like this. It just makes me depressed now. It’s hard to build a functional society with so many people like this. People that have lived in other developed countries....please tell me that it’s just as bad there.
  7. Nobody is undecided about who they support. Lots of people are undecided about whether or not they will show the fuck up and vote.
  8. Wilco overall is dem. My state rep is Bucy who is a dem and really good at his job. My individual polling location was as close to 50/50 as you could get in 2016. I would bet my rona check that it’s 60-40 Biden or more. Some olds that moved in from Alabama are the only people I know willing to admit they will vote for trump. There are certainty more that will cast their vote in silence but my gut tells me he loses this hood bigly.
  9. For me, a lot of it was just growing up and getting enough real world experience to know that everything that I was sold was a lie. That’s why I can say with conviction that I would never go back. Same for my wife. The other factors include mostly Texas GOP misdeeds. I work in public education. Getting kicked in the dick repeatedly sucks. Who knew? For me the shift didn’t happen because of trump, it was around the end of Perry’s term as governor.
  10. Wilco is 58% white. And remember, half of them are suburban women who are leaving the Republican Party.
  11. White, suburban, former republican here. There are some that are just anti-trump and will go back. Most of us will never pull the R lever again though. The shift in the burbs actually began before trump, he just accelerated it. When I moved to Wilco 10 years ago, it was bright red. My neighborhood polling place was almost as 50/50 as you could get in 2016. I would be shocked if Biden doesn’t win by 20+ points this time.
  12. Georgia is a fast growing state that is 55% non-Latino White. That puts the state at about 27% white male, which is the republican wheel house. Obviously who shows up on Election Day tends to be a much older and whiter crowd, but it’s amazing to me that Republicans still hold onto Georgia.
  13. I can live with everything so far but damn I love draught house on a nice day.
  14. This election will come down to how well the democrats turn their people out in key states. We know that trump has the most loyal base of any modern politician and they will turn out for him. We also know that democrats will be fighting an uphill battle in states that are actively trying to suppress the vote. I’m far from a “polls don’t mean shit” guy, but Dems will have to have a solid lead in swing state polls for me to feel comfortable. One positive I will give biden is that black voters have shown up for him. That was an area where Hillary was particularly weak, especially in key cities such as Philadelphia and Milwaukee.
  15. It’s also harder to argue that their presence posed a huge distraction to the educational environment when kids weren’t actually going to school.
  16. I don’t disagree with this other than the black vote. They will be out in force. They almost singlehandedly won him the primary.
  17. The schools ability to expel or suspend for online behavior that happens outside of school goes back to tinker vs des monies. What meets “the tinker standard” largely has depended on what judge you end up in front of in recent years. It typically goes back to how disruptive to the school environment they behavior was. I have no clue if this would meet the standard. In Texas we have David’s law which is more related to cyber bullying a specific student or group of students. You can get your ass in big trouble for violating that even if it happens during the middle of summer.
  18. Gambling odds aren’t always right, especially 7 months out, but trump is still a -150 favorite. Of course Hillary was a bigger favorite than that on actual Election Day. Just want to give the “trump is gone for sure” crowd a little pause.
  19. Put it on CNBC just now and their banner said something about a record drop in retail sales leading the market down. Umm I was told this was baked in!?
  20. Racist humor mixed with jokes that involve OTM puts. Surly wheelhouse.
  21. Same things they do in education all the time. Defund and then launch attacks through their media surrogates. That builds the political will to pass vouchers, charter schools, etc.
