  1. Yes, and that looks perfect. Do people typically make reservations for lunch there?
  2. Any good casual lunch spots in Sonoma that won’t be slammed on a Saturday?
  3. Have a wine country quick trip planned at the end of October. We will have a Thursday afternoon, all day Friday, then maybe one early tasting Saturday. We are staying somewhat near Santa Rosa. We are looking for a mix of smaller mom and pop places and a couple of bigger names. Not planning on going to Napa, just the area around Santa Rosa and Sonoma. We love wine but anything more than $50 or $60 per tasting is probably wasted on us. Would love to hear some recs for tastings but also places that would let us just buy a bottle and sit at an outdoor table. Bonus points for views. Like reds, mostly Pinots and cabs.
  4. There is some important information missing. Was the “security guard” mentioned in the OP a school resource officer or other type of ISD police? A SRO is a commissioned peace officer and can arrest the student, file charges, etc. A security guard can’t. The principal can’t press charges, so I don’t know why people keep wanting that. The principal can have the situation investigated by an SRO. Giving the parents the option is pretty standard because some parents don’t want their kid interviewed by a cop or potentially to have to testify in court with the aggressor present. I have had MANY parents that only want their child dealing with school administrators for the school related consequences and do not want them talking to cops. If you press charges that will 100% happen.
  5. There are a lot of people asking for the school/administrators to press charges. They turn the evidence over to police (usually ISD PD) to make those decisions. It’s completely out of an administrators hands when it comes to the criminal side of things. They can make school discipline decisions, and it sounds like the girl is already suspended. Special education laws can make the severity of those punishments less than ideal in some cases though. 6. You won’t get the video out of the administration at the campus level because they are not authorized to give it to you. It doesn’t mean that it’s impossible but you are going to have to involve the district, who will likely run it by their legal team. The video and consequences received by the other student are discipline records. Those are ferpa protected and they don’t let campus administrators make the decision on giving that stuff out. Just depends on how high up the chain you want to go and if you want to get lawyers involved. FWIW, it was a shitty part of the job to be a principal and not be able to show the video. They likely want to. Strangely enough, the other parents will have an easier time seeing the video because it’s a discipline record of their own child.
  7. I’m in western round rock and confirm. Cow pissing on a flat rock.
  8. I think I could do the cold if I was completely work from home. Fuck commuting in that shit.
  9. Price tag before renovations: 2.4 million
  10. That was my senior year of high school. Full pads, on the field at 4:00. They would just hose us down.
  11. Bumping this thread because they are anticipating possible rolling blackouts between 2:00 and 8:00 today.
  12. I used to work as a prep cook at Jim’s in high school and making that cheese soup was one of my duties. It was pretty legit for Jim’s….started with a roux.
  13. Won’t have that problem in about 2 more months when the lakes are completely empty. I see some pretty severe water restrictions in our future.
  14. Don’t take this as defending Arredondo, because he was an absolute failure, but all the talk about him seems like scapegoating. This was a massive fuckup across multiple agencies and the higher ups are pointing fingers at one local yokel. Where is the pressure on McCraw to answer for why his officers stood around for so long? And don’t give me any jurisdiction bullshit because nobody knew who was in charge. If Arredondo was so inept and not following basic procedures, as McCraw states, why were all his guys standing there watching him break protocol for an hour? I don’t want to hear anything else about Arredondo until others are facing the same scrutiny.
  15. Don’t take this as a defense of the local and ISD police, but the DPS grandstanding comes across as shifting the blame more than an honest investigation. I would be very wary of taking what they are saying publicly as fact. The locals are pushing back but seem unorganized and completely unable to wage a PR war against Austin. If they have a bit of truth on their side, we will likely never know it.
  16. This is insanity. It’s like they were committed to seeing as many people die as possible.
  17. The environment may change as we are now seeing some layoffs, but these days hinting that the company might be in trouble with just result in people leaving. Company is in financial trouble and bonuses may not happen? Peace ✌️
  18. This pisses me off so much. Fuck joint Facebook accounts.
  19. So we are rooting for the same people that monumentally fucked up the uvalde school shooting and messed this deal up on multiple levels to……checks notes……go rogue and torture people before killing them? Ill settle for them doing their job.
  20. I’m gonna need to see pics of the girl before making any determinations.
  21. Got a solid 10 minutes in round rock.
  22. Would you rather hire the best people that live within commuting range of your office or hire the best people in the world?
