4th of July Texas Flood
Here is the actual video. Her daughter died in the flood and she is trying to make it have meaning, I guess. I do feel sorry for her. No mother should have to go through what she has gone through.

"Twin Peaks’ flood relief fundraiser — the results are in, and they’re big. Thanks to the support of loyal guests across the state, the Texas-born brand raised $105,525 in just two days to support families and first responders affected by the recent flooding." Nice when the people of supposedly low moral standing do more to help the people of Texas than our Holier than Thou GOP assholes.

His narrative is definitely different from the MAGA morons in Kerrville city government. He falls more under the greed, hubris and complacency bucket. May the lawsuits forever expose his failures so we can stop with this insane, "he was a heroe"* Facebook narrative. *Typical spelling I see 😡

What actually caused the collapse of the Texas A&M bonfire? @DisasterousHistory explains it. He's really good, btw.

I for one welcome our new AI overlords
No argument there. But something has to change to limit the destruction of our planet. Just got served this charming, fear-based ad on Facebook.

I for one welcome our new AI overlords
We currently value 'humanity' over sustainabilty. There is nothing sustainable about having 7+ billion people on this planet, especially since so many of them are in places with limited-to-no resources. Coming to the conclusion that too many people isn't an ideal way to sustain life on this planet isn't the incorrect one.

I for one welcome our new AI overlords
Yes, because, "intelligence with no humanity or morality" has been something we have wonderfully avoided for the last 7,000 years of civilization.

Saw this today: "it's nobody's fault. And if I did have a little girl, I would still send her to Mystic in a minute. Dick Eastland died trying to save the campers he loved. And there's no other place on earth I would want my little girl to be. Where she was loved so much somebody else died trying to save her."- Texas Offseason 2025 - Archmania Is Upon Us

The poor captain kept coming on the intercom every 15 minutes to 'update' us on the situation, although he had no updates.- SEC Storied: Wishbone

Apparently, their IT went down. I thought we had it bad 'til i stepped off the plane and saw the people in a long line trying to re-book their flights...at 3am!! Wonder where they all slept? Probably in the chairs.- Texas Offseason 2025 - Archmania Is Upon Us
Hahah, I did most of it on an airplane last night, as Alaska Airlines kept us on the tarmac AFTER midnight for two hours waiting to deplane in Austin. Nightmare.- Texas Offseason 2025 - Archmania Is Upon Us

Guessing everyone who couldn't locate someone called it in as a drowning. Plus, there were probably lots of fakes from people looking for handouts. This was quite common after 911. In fact, a very popular President of the 911 Survivors Committee wasn't even in the country when it happened!!! "The former President of the World Trade Center Survivors' Network, Tania Head, was exposed as a fraud. Her real name is Alicia Esteve Head, a Spanish woman who was not in the United States on September 11, 2001. She had fabricated her entire story of surviving the attacks and losing a fiancé in the collapse of the towers. Tania Head's fabricated story and exposure Claimed experience: Tania Head claimed to have been in the South Tower on the 78th floor, the same floor where the second plane hit. She vividly described horrific scenes, being rescued by Welles Crowther (who died saving others), and being handed a wedding ring by a dying man. She also claimed to have lost her fiancé in the North Tower. Role in the Survivors' Network: Tania Head became a prominent figure in the 9/11 survivor community, serving as president of the World Trade Center Survivors' Network and advocating for survivors' recognition. Her emotional story and dedication resonated with other survivors. Exposure: In 2007, inconsistencies in Head's story began to emerge, particularly as a New York Times investigation into a profile on Head revealed discrepancies. It was discovered that Tania Head was actually Alicia Esteve Head, a Spanish native who was in Barcelona at the time of the attacks. Her alleged fiancé was a real victim, but his family confirmed they had never met Head. Impact of the revelation: The revelation of Head's deception deeply impacted the survivor community, though some acknowledge her positive contributions to the network before her true identity was known. Head subsequently disappeared from public life. This case is a tragic reminder of the potential for individuals to exploit tragedies for personal gain and the importance of verifying accounts, particularly in emotionally charged situations."- Texas Offseason 2025 - Archmania Is Upon Us

This is precisely why the spokesman for the camp can whine all he wants about constantly getting alerts and this was the '100 year flood' that no one was prepared for (ehhh, except the people at Camp Mo) and all it is irrelevant.- 4th of July Texas Flood
That is a very, very good question.- 4th of July Texas Flood
100%. This wasn't like the big outdoor concert was spoiled due to an unexpected rainstorm and they are refusing to refund guest's money. 27 young girls and young adult counselors were killed due to their negligence. That dude needs to shut the fuck up. Better to just say, "we have no words to express our sorrow and all thoughts should be focused on the families who are mourning." - 4th of July Texas Flood
