  1. This is so inspiring to watch our team doing so well ON THE WORLD STAGE. If we can continue to compete and build a true basketball culture, it makes me dare to dream of a day when US players can compete with the best 3 vs 3 players and shock the world!
  2. I wasn't joking about Ultimate Frisbee, which has previously been an Olympic exhibition sport. I think it's a great game with amazing athletes.
  3. I had forgotten that boxing was an Olympic sport. I'm glad it's been eliminated. It's a barbaric enterprise. Ultimate Frisbee would be a better Olympic sport than flag football, as it's played in lots of other countries now. They're quite good at it in Japan, Canada, Australia, England and many European countries. Glad to see Lacrosse is being added. it's a popular sport in the US and lots of people play it. I could see those drone-loving bastards in Canada beating us, though. Perhaps one day, basketball will grow in popularity in the US, and we too can compete in 3 vs 3 basketball against countries where it's a deep part of the culture, like the Netherlands.
  4. Aggy should be top 5 just on the basis of being SEC ready, which is something Texas can't even understand.
  5. We still have scoreboard over Aggy with our LBJ School of Pubic Affairs program. I really need to buy one on ebay!
  6. This is why I love Surly. An already funny conversation about UCLA's new coach has morphed into Alvin Ailey/Tommy Tune smack-talk.
  7. I was really just trying to be funny and hit my weekly post quota.
  8. Every sport is made up, haha. And considering hundreds of thousands of people play it in the US, you would think we could find a few who are good.
  9. How embarrassing is it that the US can't find 3 good players men and women to play 3-on-3 in the Olympics? Is the rim height in meters?
  10. I'll use the word excited since that are the rules for this thread, but as a father of two fabulous young women, we are way past the point of excitement and hope for a better future. This is about saving their rights, along with our constitutional republic for them and their upcoming families from the Trump cultists.
  11. A 16-minute video about how Brazil failed Marta? I'll immediately add it to my favorites.
  12. Hey, since we are using the Burnt End funds to purchase @immamac's Surly Horns' ride, let's chill on the disparaging Cybertruck comments. They aren't appreciated by the committee.
  13. I'm adding Alvin Ailey to your list of great UCLA athletes. Born in Rogers, Texas, Alvin attended UCLA and went on to found one of America's greatest dance companies, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. He was a great athlete, too.
  14. Remember how D'onta was the afterthought and his brother was the real recruit prize?
  15. Guys, I know I write of lot of stupid stuff here, but I'm gonna be serious; I'm really, really scared of SEC leader Texas A&M University They have traditions that we can't even comprehend, like Bonfire They have the cleanest program and the top academics. Don't believe me? SEE THE BILLBOARD They have the most spirit and they have the most welcoming fans They throw money around like it's nothing and have set records for coach buyouts They have faced the SEC gauntlet and dominated FOR YEARS! And they almost made the playoffs in 2020!!! We have NEVER played the level of SEC teams that we now face, and we can't understand what it takes to do it as well as Aggy has. Just look at MURDERERS ROW that we are facing this season: Mississippi State Vanderbilt Florida Arkanas Kentucky TEXAS A&M That's why I continue to DEMAND that we stage the first annual Surly Horns / TexAgs VIRTUAL SUMMIT so we can learn from them what it takes. We do it on Zoom. We listen and we LEARN.
  16. As has been pointed out previously, possibly by you. Perhaps, like Sark's jacket, that receiver is a decoy, designed to confuse opponents.
  17. It is true that both Dallas and Houston have the majority of tough schools, and I also referenced the student body imbalances, like North Shore, who has amazing athletes, plus an insane 4500 students to choose from vs. our 2800. SIDE NOTE: I do greatly admire Northshore for their amazing success, as their students don't have the resources that Westlake offers their students. However, we have both Dripping Springs and Lake Travis in the same district. Those are two excellent programs and can hang with anyone in Texas. Westlake also traditionally schedules tough early games against top programs, like Katy, and Southlake. Plus during this time, Chaps have beaten Northshore, Katy (twice), Southlake Carrol (twice), Denton Guyer (twice) Steel (multiple times) Atascocita, Katy Thompkins, broke Allen's 57-game win streak in the state semifinal, and others, so I will stand by my claim that it has been an extraordinary run.
  18. Rees Wise. Junior. Very good junior QB who will play at the next level. Lost our great little RB who went to Army. Also replacing offensive coordinator. Will do well, not great.
  19. The narrative is totally different between Texas and Aggy as they entered the SEC. With Aggy, the conversation was, "will they be able to hang w SEC teams?" With Texas, it's all about how arrogant and hated we are, haha.
  20. That dude is a freaking force of nature. He played hurt in their playoff loss, but still was pretty good. He can play at the next level in some capacity.
