  1. I went into the Surly Horns office today and just sat at my old desk. They called security and escorted me out. All those insufferably young Surly bros were chanting, "bye bye, old, bye bye." It was really, really painful. We walked right by @immamac who pretended not to know me. Now, @Dennis Taylor, are you finally happy? Does this make you finally happy?
  2. Maybe so, but there is one Crypto that GUARANTEES A 20% RETURN WEEKLY!!!!
  3. Well, what I have been dreading for so long has finally happened. As of today, I am no longer working at Surly Horns. I got called down to HR and my 24-year old, snotty-nosed boss was sitting there with a satisfied smirk on his face. He happily showed my post where I trashed the Surly working conditions. This hurts so bad because I was there from the very beginning. I even gave @immamac the idea to switch Surly Horns from an online restaurant supply store to a fan forum! Those were the good years. Our summer retreats were incredible. I used to be ON STAGE with Immamac when he shared his vision. The company was valued in the hundred of millions. Our new office was amazing. We had VC firms lined up at the door. Then came 2020 and our stock tumbled. Then Immamac brought in that ^&#%^%#% consulting firm with some "genius" change agent and things started to sour. The free lunches were the first to go. Then overtime pay. Everyone was EXPECTED to work 60 hours a week. Then 70. Immamac sat in this office with the door closed, and we were no longer allowed to speak to him. ai was the final nail. Guess what? 70% of all the posts are ai-generated. Yeah, I just violated my NDA. Fuck them. I knew it was just a matter of time before they got me. I saw their comments on Slack, calling me "Treaty Old." These kids don't know sit about running a business. Now they're on CNBC talking about an cash infusion from Blackrock and Softbank. Good luck with that. Goodbye, my friends. LMK if you need a fleshlight.
  4. Whoops, double-post. Deleted.
  5. Funny true story: I used to work in NY at an ad agency with a copywriter who had previously worked for David Mamet's company. Super-funny guy. He was tasked with writing the David Mamet office Christmas party invitation. He wrote it in the exact cadence and style of David Mamet's plays, with lots of repetition, short sentences, etc. David Mamet fired him the same day, haha.
  6. I like it when it gets ratcheted up to the boss. "My subordinate reached out to you last week." OMG, the CEO just reached out to me!!!! I had better respond ASAP!!!!!!!
  7. Shit. Guess my manager didn't appreciate this post. They just did an announcement on the office intercom and told me to shut-off my dial-up service, come to HR immediately and bring all the floppy and Syquest Discs with me.
  8. @Dennis Taylor are you happy? Now, are you finally happy?
  9. Surly Horns used to be all about changing the world. Now since @immamac brought in the consultants, it's all "more posts, more engagement, more posts, more engagement." First they cut my salary in half and eliminated my benefits. Now, my manager is a 24-year old, snot-nosed kid who uses buzzwords I don't even understand.
  10. Took 2 seconds to Google this: "Stanford University offers athletic scholarships for student-athletes in NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NAIA, and NJCAA. On average, 34% of student-athletes receive athletic scholarships, and full scholarships cover the full cost of room and board."
  11. Not Aggie, but Aggie-like in the wretched, pathetic, embarrassing mismanagement .
  12. I don't have a problem w the legitimate cold prospecting, although I think it's their outreach is behind-the-times, as they make no effort to learn ANYTHING about my business. The scammers, of course, are awful.
  13. And speak of the devil. Scam alert: gmail, hopelessly general services, the 'exclude me' trope.
  14. I had a funny conversation on TikTok. I followed a guy whose tag is something like 'Life After Corporate.' He gave pretty good insights. Recently, he direct-messaged me and asked if I had time to hear about an 'exciting opportunity.' He wanted to help me invest in Bitcoin, lol. Even better, he said he was recruiting investors for a third party! I told him I didn't invest like that, and he finally left me alone. Just another scammer. Life has gotten so weird!
  15. I get both types. I get the turgid, email business ones that drone on and on. What's funny is I get the same exact ones on LinkedIn. LinkedIn provides a platform where anyone can learn about my business in around ten seconds. Sending cold call emails on LinkedIn without learning anything about my business is exactly the opposite of how to use the platform. Ignore. The second type are the malicious ones. They're getting harder to spot, but there are some telltale clues: Weird gmail address Person has no title Scammers are notorious for using two last names as their "American" name. "Davis Smith" P.S. NEVER unsubscribe to these emails. Always block sender and file as junk.
  16. That was a pretty rough crew who came to have her back. I wouldn't want to mess w the woman in a sundress holding a container of leftovers.
  17. That woman has some serious mental health issues.
  18. Ah, the old, tried and true, "she's a mother" defense. Seems like I've heard that before... Many people online have claimed that Ashli Babbitt was also a mother. She was not a mother, (thanks heavens) She was batshit crazy.
  19. Perhaps a private equity firm could prevent a university from guaranteeing to pay a coach $78 million if they fire him.
