  1. Whoop!! Athletic just released their final rankings for all 133 programs. Sips finished #3. Gig 'ems finished a very respectable #55!!!
  2. Shoot. I wish you would have thought to share this with Sark and Quinn Ewers before the last play.
  3. He's single and has no children. Shocking.
  4. Stupid Sip. It's Plan 24, not Plan 23. They win it all next year.
  5. Wait. How is this possible that Florida State finished 7th? Their coach said they had a championship season.
  6. At least we can revel in the misery of those stupid Washington posters who signed on here and posted all their crap, hahah. Screw you bunch of losers.
  7. This is the Aaron Rogers thread and you can’t discuss Aaron Rogers without making it Cloak Room, cause he makes it so every time he opens his mouth. Screw that whining, lying, “immunized”, conspiracy-addled, locker-room cancer, Trump-loving freak-show. He is an embarrassment to himself.
  8. I’m extremely bummed. While Michigan is probably “better” than Texas, especially since they could pressure Penix and we couldn’t, the stars had aligned for us this year. We had just as good a chance of winning as any of the other playoff teams, and with a couple of breaks, we could have been there. Football teams are too volatile to assume that we will be good next year. Injuries, chemistry, luck, schedule, and lineup changes can cause a completely different outcome next year. The Philadelphia Eagles are a prime example. Everyone assumed they’d be back in the SB this season. They lost their defensive coordinator and just limped into the playoffs, finishing their season at 1-5. We may not have a chance like this for years.
  9. Watching this game makes me really appreciate Texas A&M's bowl performance vs Oklahoma State. The Aggies were the most impressive team in 2023 and if they rehire Jimbo and execute, they are a shoe-in for the championship next year,
  10. "A slave stood behind the conqueror holding a golden crown and whispering in his ear a warning: that all glory is fleeting.” George S. Patton Jr.
  11. There is no comparison at this point between the two parties. Biden’s government, while not perfect, (Hunter Biden really sucks and the Afghanistan withdrawal was a disaster) is at least respected and viewed as functioning adults that can be trusted by our allies and people who can read around the world. The other is rightly viewed by what they are; an insane, funny if not so frightening, circus run by freak-show level morons and a criminal. Trump and his spawn have done and will do untold damage to our county’s ability to function and to whatever reputation is left by the time they take power. Trump will cozy up to Putin (which is truly incredible) and the North Korean dictator. They are a threat to our democracy and safety. The FIRST thing they will focus on accomplishing is somehow getting Trump declared president for life. Fuck that sociopath and his idiot morons. We are currently under our greatest threat since the Civil War. I have no problem using all lawful and unlawful methods to protect my country from them. Lincoln suspended habeas corpus during the Civil War and I don’t see anyone complaining about the outcome. Anyone with a brain is compelled to do everything they can to stop those monsters.
  12. Eisenstein made some good movies. IMHO, with possibly the greatest movie score of all time composed by Prokofiev, his best was ‘’Alexander Nevski’’. The movie, which memorializes a medieval battle against the Teutonic Knights, was made in 1937 to prepare the Russians for the upcoming war w Germany. The movie missed its original premier, as it was shelved when Stalin signed his non-aggression pact w Hitler. After the Germans attacked in 1941, the movie was finally released. It is fantastic, with sweeping vistas and a huge battle on the ice. Like all Eisenstein movies, it has a a lot of corny stuff but it’s still amazing and the music alone makes it worth a viewing. You can watch it here. The Suite is still performed by orchestras around the world.
  13. @immamac I heart you, but I disagree. As another poster noted, lots of police were injured. And the only reason it didn't turn into an absolute horror show is because the senate was emptied. If the rioters had gotten in there with all the senators there, there is no telling what would have happened. Shooting my girl Ashli only turned away one small group of rioters.
  14. Not to be one of 'those people,' but if your opponents don't score and you also don't score, you don't win. The game is a tie. Okay, maybe it's fun to be one of those people.
  15. ChatGPT, can you give me ten ways this sentence said by Jimbo Fisher could be improved? "I am talking about all of the people we regarded as highly-respected guys." I am referring to individuals we held in high esteem. I am discussing those individuals we esteemed greatly. I am addressing individuals whom we highly respected. I am talking about people we held in high regard. I am referring to those we considered highly respected individuals. I am discussing individuals we held in high regard. I am addressing people we highly esteemed. I am talking about those we regarded as highly-respected individuals. I am referring to individuals we highly respected. I am discussing people we held in high regard.
  16. This is so wrong but I can't stop laughing.
  17. Wow, I have always held Steven Hawking in high regard, but if it’s true that he participated in wild orgies, my esteem for him has gone to another level.
  18. What? Why would I do that, when I'm one of the top Fleshlight salespersons in the entire Southwest quadrant! Let me know if you want one or a multiple order. They make great gifts. @jimmyjazz, I sent the four you ordered in a USPS medium-sized box, which was an additional $13.00 over your order. I added that to your total.
  19. I'm not doing well about it, at all. That's because we had our championship window of opportunity, which is now closed. Why? Because now we face another, more potent opponent. The Fightin' Aggies of Texas A&M University. They have THE best traditions in all of college. Plus, they've already surpassed us in baseball and basketball. Don't believe me? Consider this recent post from TexasAgs: "We've already surpassed them in baseball and basketball." What's more, they demonstrated an unquenchable commitment to success when they paid a coach $78 MILLION to leave. That's right. $78 million to a coach they had presented a future national championship trophy to stop coaching, and they did it mid-season without a replacement locked-in. While it seems like this is poor financial management by their athletic department, it shows a spirit of winning we could only dream about. Now, they've brought in a coach who gets them. That's right. He EMBRACES their traditions. And he has a great nickname, The Elk, which pairs with The Station quite nicely. We don't even have an amazing nickname for our city. + Finally, when you compare the two football programs, A&M comes out ahead. As many of their posters continually point out, they faced a much better Alabama team than we did AND ALMOST WON. Plus, they paid tribute to their near-win against the second-best team in the Big 12. Now that they've moved on from many of their players from the best recruiting class of all time, and have had multiple highly ranked recruits opt out, they are ready to win even more championships with hardworking farm boys from small towns. Thanks for indulging my meltdown. I'm skeered real good.
  20. Thinking about my girl, Ashli. You have to wonder the strange turns that life takes. How did this woman, who struggled with mental health issues (she was previously arrested for threatening a rival love interest) find herself trying to crawl through a broken window in the capitol building in a quest to somehow restore President Trump to his rightful place? What did she think would happen when she arrived in the main chamber? Would she arrest people? What was in her backpack? Last November 8 (my wife's bday, lol) was the 100th anniversary of Hitler's abortive putsch to overthrow the Weimar Republic. After Hitler became Chancellor of Germany, the Nazi's built a shrine to the 16 fallen heroes who died during the farcical coup. They would have a huge rally each year and the names of the fallen would be read solemnly aloud and Hitler would conclude the ceremony by laying a wreath on the shrine. In a dark vision of the future where Trump has himself declared president for life, I can see him having a shrine built to Ashli and each year on January 6th at a huge rally at the Capitol, he lays a wreath on her memorial. Who else is dreading what 2024 has in store for us and the world?
