  1. Surly Horns used to be all about changing the world. Now since @immamac brought in the consultants, it's all "more posts, more engagement, more posts, more engagement." First they cut my salary in half and eliminated my benefits. Now, my manager is a 24-year old, snot-nosed kid who uses buzzwords I don't even understand.
  2. Took 2 seconds to Google this: "Stanford University offers athletic scholarships for student-athletes in NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NAIA, and NJCAA. On average, 34% of student-athletes receive athletic scholarships, and full scholarships cover the full cost of room and board."
  3. Not Aggie, but Aggie-like in the wretched, pathetic, embarrassing mismanagement .
  4. I don't have a problem w the legitimate cold prospecting, although I think it's their outreach is behind-the-times, as they make no effort to learn ANYTHING about my business. The scammers, of course, are awful.
  5. And speak of the devil. Scam alert: gmail, hopelessly general services, the 'exclude me' trope.
  6. I had a funny conversation on TikTok. I followed a guy whose tag is something like 'Life After Corporate.' He gave pretty good insights. Recently, he direct-messaged me and asked if I had time to hear about an 'exciting opportunity.' He wanted to help me invest in Bitcoin, lol. Even better, he said he was recruiting investors for a third party! I told him I didn't invest like that, and he finally left me alone. Just another scammer. Life has gotten so weird!
  7. I get both types. I get the turgid, email business ones that drone on and on. What's funny is I get the same exact ones on LinkedIn. LinkedIn provides a platform where anyone can learn about my business in around ten seconds. Sending cold call emails on LinkedIn without learning anything about my business is exactly the opposite of how to use the platform. Ignore. The second type are the malicious ones. They're getting harder to spot, but there are some telltale clues: Weird gmail address Person has no title Scammers are notorious for using two last names as their "American" name. "Davis Smith" P.S. NEVER unsubscribe to these emails. Always block sender and file as junk.
  8. That was a pretty rough crew who came to have her back. I wouldn't want to mess w the woman in a sundress holding a container of leftovers.
  9. That woman has some serious mental health issues.
  10. Ah, the old, tried and true, "she's a mother" defense. Seems like I've heard that before... Many people online have claimed that Ashli Babbitt was also a mother. She was not a mother, (thanks heavens) She was batshit crazy.
  11. Perhaps a private equity firm could prevent a university from guaranteeing to pay a coach $78 million if they fire him.
  12. You left out the key one. Teddy Roosevelt threatened to ban the sport in 1905 if they didn't find a way to reduce injuries. Amazingly, at least 45 died from 1900 to 1905, according to the Washington Post.
  13. It's so insane.
  14. These are amazing. Jason and the Golden Fleece? Biblical references? Wow.
  15. The ai image generators in Adobe Express and Photoshop are so bad they are actually funny.
  16. Actually less weird than their real life culture.
  17. Was in NY. Had the big meeting with younger daughter's first serious boyfriend. Of course, I showed him this thread. Not sure if that was a good idea, but he was laughing, especially about the sheep.
