  1. Terrific. Sounds like some great memories. I was hoping Brock would become a star in college.
  2. Our district currently has 3 teams in the 6A state quarterfinals: Westlake, Lake Travis and Dripping Springs. That's the best we've ever done.
  3. Also the video of the robot that couldn't walk up one step without falling over, haha.
  4. Okay, @Longhorn94, since I am a very pessimistic person, (being a Horns fan will do that to you) I asked ChatGPT to say why why Lake Travis could defeat Westlake this Saturday. Now I've gone from feeling low to feeling entirely hopeless: Strong Offense: If Lake Travis High School has a powerful and versatile offense with skilled players, they may be able to outscore Westlake High School. Solid Defense: A strong defense is crucial in football. If Lake Travis has a robust defensive strategy and skilled defenders, they may be able to prevent Westlake from scoring. Effective Coaching: Good coaching can make a significant difference. If Lake Travis has a well-prepared coaching staff that can make effective in-game decisions, it could give them an advantage. Home Field Advantage: Playing on their home turf can boost the morale of Lake Travis players and contribute to their overall performance.* Injury-Free Roster: If Lake Travis has a healthy and injury-free roster, they will have all their key players available for the game, giving them a better chance of success. Strategic Special Teams: Special teams play, including kick and punt returns, can swing the momentum of a game. If Lake Travis excels in this aspect, it could give them an edge. Motivation and Team Spirit: A motivated and cohesive team often performs better. If Lake Travis has a strong team spirit and motivation, it can positively impact their performance on the field. Previous Successes: If Lake Travis has a history of success against Westlake or in similar high-pressure situations, it might boost their confidence and increase their chances of winning. Adaptability: Football games can be unpredictable. If Lake Travis is good at adapting to different game situations and adjusting their strategy accordingly, they may have an advantage. Fan Support: The support of enthusiastic fans can create a positive atmosphere and energize the players. If Lake Travis has a strong fan base, it could contribute to their success on the field. * I forgot to mention that this is a neutral site game.
  5. I’m going to torture myself by asking ChatGPT to list 10 reasons why LT will beat Westlake and will share.
  6. You mean the Duke University that is currently ranked the 7th best university in the US? Is that your definition of embarrassment?
  7. Let the nightmare scenario commence! LT is the last team we wanted to play. They are really rolling and we are sleepwalking. I wouldn't be surprised if LT wins the rematch, but I am a hopeless pessimist in all aspects of life.
  8. What I’ve learned in the Texas Tech/Texas game thread on Texags: -Texas would get killed if they played Bama now -No way does Texas own the 9th hardest SOS (despite the ESPN metrics) -Just wait til they face SEC competition! -Sips have played BDF cupcakes while A&M has faced murderers row - Even Aggys can no longer deny that they represent a suckage on a level never seen before
  9. We watched the second half of the game from beautiful Pete's Tavern in Manhattan. If you visit the city and haven't been there, be sure to check out this beautiful tavern (founded in 1864) located on 18th Street in Irving Place. Had a great talk w./ a table of great UT grads watching the game.
  10. Why is Aggy not in the discussion? They’re the best 7-4 team in the nation.
  11. It was one of those, Greek goddess assumes human form and interacts with the peasantry, fan interactions.
  12. Well, if they can physically assault the other team's defense and apply a choke hold to their outside game, they will physically abuse their opponents.
  13. A bad omen: In New York City. Was on 57th Street today when a swagged-up gaggle of Tech fans passed me. I gave one of them, a very pretty woman, the Hook ‘ Em. She sweetly smiled and gave me the Guns Up right back. She kinda owned me.
  14. I was the opposite. Really excited about Herman and not excited about Sark. Now the mention of Herman, well...triggers me.
  15. The two most horrible college coaching mistakes. The stupid, panic-response contract extension: SEE TOM HERMANN AND AGGY The stupid, "let's hire the interim coach after the emotional bowl-game win. SEE EVERYONE
  16. I wonder if qualified coaches will look at their idiot culture and think, "jeez, I won't be able to get guys to want to come be a part of this."
  17. You answered your question. In Texas, like it or not, the HS coaches have a lot of sway and area college coaches are smart enough to understand this. Sark gets it. Tom Hermann did not.
  18. Fun ESPN article about Jimbo’s reign of error. It includes some details I wasn't aware of: https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/38913228/jimbo-fisher-texas-firing-downfall They discuss Jimbo forcing the team to travel to away games on Thursday night, lol. How Jimbo ignored the Texas HS Coaches Assoc. Good luck with that. How lax discipline was and the high number of resulting suspensions How he would turn angry whenever anyone should try to question his dumb ideas. I’m heartbroken that Jimbo was forced out. I am grieving.
  19. @Helobious care to give us a scouting report on Laredo United? Strengths, weaknesses, etc. Thnx.
