  1. From the NY Times: "Some critics say the battles over Donald Trump’s ballot status are turning him into a martyr and eroding faith in U.S. elections." I would think Trump and his minions have done enough "eroding faith in U.S. elections" to the point that its stupid to worry about this. Here is the article but it is paywalled.
  2. Shoot. We missed a huge troll moment in the Texas Bowl game. When it was clear OSU was going to win, we should have pre-pledged a huge donation to the OSU athletic department if the crowd had chanted "BDF, BDF, BDF."
  3. Subtle brilliance.
  4. Now, are you happy, @Neonmoon? Thanks to you, I've missed my Fleshlight sales quota for 4th quarter. Not only do I have to explain it on call with the regional sales director, (who's a 33 year old bastard who likes to age-shame me), I've still got to somehow move 55 units. Does anyone want to buy one? They make great gifts for your family and neighbors.
  5. Are you happy now, @Neonmoon? Thanks to you, I lost this afternoon and I have THREE DAYS in 2023 to unload 152 Fleshlights to retain my position as the number one salesperson in the Central Texas district! And please, DO NOT ASK ME TO CREATE a Mike Elko as Baron Harkonnen!!! I'M NOT DOING IT!!!
  6. Brilliance.
  7. Seriously, guys, I have to get to work so please, no more requests! I've got a garage full of Fleshlights that aren't gonna sell themselves!
  8. Observations from Stuart Mandel: Florida State’s lawyers did not throw together that lawsuit overnight. They’ve been doing their due diligence for at least a year or longer. So, you might assume the school had some assurance of an attractive landing spot before opting to go scorched earth on its conference. But to Jeremy’s point, I can’t imagine SEC commissioner Greg Sankey wants anything to do with FSU’s pot-stirring ways. He also doesn’t need the ‘Noles. He already has the flagship university in the state of Florida, along with a half-dozen other schools with as much or more brand cachet. The Big Ten makes more sense as a home for FSU since it has already shown it’s willing to bend all geographic barriers. Plus its main partner, Fox, currently has no presence in the Southeast. It’s also not currently facing an existential crisis in its business like ESPN. But I believe FSU is mostly betting on itself and its ability to command value in whatever the next iteration of college football might look like. To that end, FSU has for some time been seeking a private equity partner to fund this whole endeavor. In the meantime, the school is making its relationship with the ACC untenable to the point where the league may soon have no choice but to negotiate some sort of reduced-fee exit. If/when that day comes, I see one of three scenarios happening: The Big Ten comes calling. Fox — less streaming-dependent than ESPN — happily writes the check. FSU brings along Clemson, Miami, Virginia Tech, etc., and forms a new football conference that, by stripping out the bottom half, commands more dollars per school than the current ACC.
  9. @Neonmoon what we do here today will resonate through the ages.
  10. Yes, I love how he eviscerates the, "this wasn't about slavery" argument. Of course it was! In those primitive times, poor people in the South gave up their lives and treasure in order to help rich people prosper. Thank heavens the people of the Southern US have evolved beyond these primitive ways today.
  11. Three points about Ashli Babbitt that her defenders have made: 1: "She was unarmed." She was wearing a backpack. How was the security force supposed to know that she didn't have a gun or a bomb in there? 2. "According to her husband, "Ashli was merely expressing her opinion." Fine. So was the security officer who shot her. 3. "It was an unlawful killing" Well, since the other rioters instantly stopped trying to enter the building after her shooting, it seemed pretty lawful to me.
  12. Well, you managed to write a post about me without accusing me of being a racist, so I guess we’re making progress.
  13. Many great design innovations are initially met w derision, as people generally lack vision and prefer what is familiar to them. The Eiffel Tower was considered a horrific eyesore when it was first built. Even more surprising, New York’s incredible Chrysler Building was initially deemed a monstrosity. Today, it is rightly considered one of the most beautiful buildings constructed in the 20th Century.
  14. It looked like a Teutonic knight clad in stainless steel armor as it bestrode a glimmering path across the highway. With its futuristic, stealth-inspired lines, it instantly made all the other cars and SUV’s around it look hopelessly dated. The future that we have been so long promised has indeed finally arrived.
  15. So happy for Quinn. He is a great QB and a really good person. Randomness update: I saw my first Cybertruck today. It's so awesome!!!!
  16. Lol. Someone played a Civil War-based video game just to betray the South by shooting a General.
  17. Aton-shei Films is a fantastic YouTube creator. I highly recommend his videos as he address various issues of the Civil War and debates himself in very entertaining and funny ways to destroy the various Southern myths. He’s brilliant.
  18. It's a typo. I meant to type that it will be so much more embarrassing when Aggy loses to a BDF team in a bowl game.
