  1. Love l’Atelier and a great recommendation. It’s always consistent and well done no matter which city you’re in. We’ve hit it several times over the years (used to live in London) so will keep that one on the list if nothing else pans out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Casual is more the scene we are looking for coming off the previous dinners. Not looking for the stuffy, white table cloth meal for a 40th dinner. I was thinking sushi since something a bit lighter may also be in order and will also check out .Emmy Squared. What about a good place for drinks after? Something nice but not too exclusive and no $1000 bottle service places. Definitely open to locations from the Village up to NoMad would work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Alright folks, I need some recs for a lively and fun dinner and drinks on one night in NYC (Day 3 below) in late March, which also happens to be my wife's 40th. It is a Saturday, so many places are already booked up. I lived in the city about 20 years ago, but now find that I just don't know it nearly as well as I used to. Here's what I currently have booked: Day 1: dinner at Gabriel Kreuther, after catching Network w/ Bryan Cranston at the Belasco theatre Day 2: dinner at Eleven Madison Day 3: Bday night - need recs for dinner and drinks Day 4: Lunch at Carbone; dinner open Day 5: Lunch at Frenchette; fly out in the evening For Day 3, I was thinking about Shoku for sushi. Any thoughts?
  4. Nah, was a confused rep more than a neg rep. Although the bad Martha Quinn joke was certainly worthy of a neg rep...
  5. Some think the problem is Sarri, some think it’s the players. To me, it is clearly both.
  6. Wow, don’t know what to think yet about that Kepa/Sarri exchange. That was a public disaster.
  7. Thinking about going to see this tonight or tomorrow. How important is it to see on the big screen? The BBC aired it recently, so we can also just watch it at home on their BBC iPlayer app.
  8. Well done. Wearing mine today as well. I love that watch. Wife got it for my bday around 10 years ago and still one of my favs. Wear it in good health!
  9. Haven't heard of it either. Interesting that it's been around over 4 years but seems to have received little press until now. At first, it made me wonder if this was something like the Shed at Dulwich: https://www.vice.com/en_uk/article/434gqw/i-made-my-shed-the-top-rated-restaurant-on-tripadvisor
  10. La Lucha in Houston is doing it well these days
  11. IWC all the way. Check out the DavidSW site. He had one last weekend that I think was pre-owned but the price was good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Only a half doucher. Just kidding, of course. That was too easy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Had dinner at Eunice a few days before Christmas with some friends. Thought it delivered well. Menu is small, but everything we had was spot on.
  14. Awesome! Love that IWC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. And then get your Overseas. I haven’t worn anything else since I got this and keep switching out the bands. Back to the bracelet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Get it done and send some pics! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. You can almost always get 2-5% off paying cash. Doubt your credit card points are worth the floor on that discount. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. ADs can work on price if you pay cash instead of credit. Or if they have something they want or need to move. Sales tax is more difficult these days if buying new. If you have an AD in your state, it’s unlikely you can buy out of state and save the sales tax. I bought my Overseas from the boutique in Costa Mesa and saved 5% on sales tax by wiring the cash but still had to pay the Texas sales tax. Couldn’t find the watch in the US and didn’t want to mess with international sellers on Chrono24 with the uncertainty over customs and duties. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Still think IWC is the right choice. Outside of a Daytona, there are only 1, maybe 2, rolexes that I think are worth it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. IWC all day, every day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. He’s going to need to wrap things up quickly at the Astroarena next week so they can make room for the boat show
  22. Got the Overseas today. Have it on the rubber strap for now but also looks great on the bracelet. Awesome fucking watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I may end up in the same place. I have a low end hublot and a GP that I rarely wear anymore. Love the 3 straps (SS, rubber and gator) that come with the latest Overseas so it gives a lot of different looks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. That was the plan originally but can’t pay $50k on the grey market for a $30k watch. Thought I had something in London that was going to work but didn’t pan out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
