  1. My 9-year-old daughter somehow came home from her first-ever DKR visit with 70 Pluckers cards good for 5 free wings each! She's a keeper.
  2. Video board stuff mostly sucked. We couldn't hear/understand Colt McCoy on his video piece. Lack or replays or timely replays was lame. In game emcee dude was pretty lame, but whatever.
  3. That's cuz you're an idiot. The girl is ~30. This isn't about her parents.
  4. Certainly anecdotal. In my neighborhood in Houston (West Spring Branch), the crazy drivers favor the little cars. I live on a busy through street with speed bumps in front of my house. We get some jerky big pickup guys, but we get a ton of small and mid-size cars flying down the street. Essentially, people gonna people.
  5. -Not necessary at 7/8U. -If he's serious about playing varsity baseball, I'd say age 11-13 is when you want to transition to select. -That's a possibility. You need to research and ask questions about the teams in your area over the next few seasons. -It's rarely about development in select. The parents all say "We need reps" when they mean "We want to win a $2 ring." Reps are at practice, Karen. -Yes. You need to research and ask questions about the teams in your area over the next few seasons. -Yes. You can get a group of kids, register, pay the insurance, pay the tourney fee, and play.
  6. 1. Don't know, don't care, doesn't matter. 2. Probably necessary at ages closer to high school. Not necessary at your 7/8U age. 3. True. 4. Mixed. There are dad coaches that are great through age 12 or so. We had such a team. There are also professional paid coaches that suck. 5. True. You can find different mixes of this. 6. Depends. My son's 14U major team is pretty decent and almost every kid is in football and/or basketball at school. They all played multiple sports at 7/8U.
  7. Terrible news, but she was clearly more interested in her fashion stuff than being a coach's wife. Too bad. Divorce is awful.
  8. I understand that aspect of it. I'm asking - possibly poorly - for specifics. What reasons exist that say Dolo can't coach at a better level than Berhalter or Arena? He played over there for a long time. He understands tactics and strategies. So what is he missing? I actually wouldn't care who Team USA baseball hired. Ha. But that's me.
  9. I'm not a soccer guy, so I just read and try to learn. Why the obsession with the foreign-born, specifically Euro, coach? I understand most of the best soccer is played in Europe, but why can't an American or MLS coach succeed? Is it really that different? Isn't much of the issue the talent and making it play hard/together? I don't see why an American guy can't do that.
  10. You also need to go re-read my posts. I haven't been "super-freaked out" by anything nor have I "simultaneously champion[ed]" anything. Or is where I said to kill all child molesters confusing to you?
  11. I did. Go re-read it slowly if you need to.
  12. Oh, did you think I equated one thing to another? Well, that would be your mistake. Church pedos are bad. So are other things. That's not a controversial opinion.
  13. Agreed. Kill them and kill them swiftly. All of the child molesters.
  14. Plan I finally hit for Alberts. Landed his 9th choice.
  15. False. The domino was Chuck Box.
  16. Hiring Earley would be incredibly emotional and shortsighted. Haven't Aggies spent the past 2 years telling us about the gauntlet of the SEC schedule? And they will be happy to roll with a guy with zero HC experience? Sure, he may keep some current portalers, but that isn't how you build a program.
  17. Paris' father, David Paris, played at UT for Coach Gus.
  18. That plane has recently been in Omaha and College Station...
  19. No. None of that matters. Talks happen between agents, boosters, and interested parties. Plausible deniability for CDC or Hartzell or whomever.
