  2. We’re in complete agreement. That’s my point. They SHOULD have made a smart hire. They couldn’t because they had just been blindsided by big brother (and no high profile coaches wanted the job). So they made a stupid emotional decision driven by the players. Now they’re facing consequences.
  3. Fun satire story.
  4. Et tu, brute?
  5. Or maybe a good coach brings out the best in his players, while a coach that is one year removed from being a GA has no idea how to balance being a player’s buddy with being a hardass and demanding excellence. Seems like something that an AD should consider when hiring a coach to take over a team that finished in the CWS finals.

  9. I am. Our family ranch is in SE NM. Literally on the TX line. I grew up (mostly) on a small farm in the mountains in northern NM. Mom and dad had a touch of the hippie in the 60s and 70s. Very, very similar background, parallel really, to CDC. Except that he now runs the most complex and successful college athletic department in the country. And I …. don’t. Yeah, I thought that was a bad pic too. Obviously not of the house in question.
  10. Yes she did take a wrong turn in Albuquerque. That is, indeed, where she died. Rather suddenly. Thanks.
  11. It’d be pretty impressive if she could put her cremated molecules back together and get down to Florida from our family cemetery in SE NM.

  13. As we age, the latter is more likely.
  14. He’s smarter than most of surly. He figured out how to grift and fleece the rubes, and has done so for decades, employing his family, and making millions. He’s not a dumb man.
